Warning:Don't start reading this volume unless you made sure that you are reading it alone, where there is no one at the same room. (Make sure to have a tissue box nearby as well)This Volume is full of events. A peek at Nishimiya Family's past, what their reaction was when they discovered Shouko's deafness, how they ended up raised by a single mother, their life with granny the kindest heart in the universe. The chapters talking about granny hit ...

Me after reading this volume:There were so many things going on in this volume. Sometimes it didn't move smoothly, but I still enjoy it.

4.5 stars!Honestly this story just gets more and more better. It's kind of slow-paced but I like the direction it's heading in :)

4.5 stars. This is soooo good!!

If you remember correctly in my previous review for this magnificent series, I went on a lengthy rant about why I hate Naoka and pretty much this is the volume where I believe if I was a girl and was getting abused by Naoka I would knock common sense into her and teach her not to mess with me. I disliked her and this volume secured that hatred that I wished she had disappeared from the series all together. The manga begins right where the story e...

This series gives me a lot of feelings.

Ahhhh so many emotions in this one. First Shoya gets more friends. There’s Satoshi Mashiba is a hottie. Then Naoka planned for Shoya to see one of his childhood friends. I’m guessing at some point he’s actually going to talk to Kazuki. But the big thing that happened in this one was that Shoko’s grandma died. It was really sad and we got to see Shoko’s mother’s backstory and it made me tear up. I just want someone to help out this poo...

Everybody is so damaged! Just goes to show you never really know what someone has been through so we can't judge.

I don't know how or when but this series has grown on me so quickly over the last three volumes and it's slowly creeping up on Death Note and Tokyo Ghoul as a new favourite manga series!!

The series continues to go strongly....this one had some very emotional moments.

4.5The best volume in the series so far!It was such a rollercoaster of emotions, of complexities of human relationships.I love the development between Shoko and Shoya, realistic portrayal of friendships and the familial relationships. Shoko is learning that he’s worthy of having friends, he can feel happiness. He sees his friend suffering and he reaches out because he believes he can help, he wants to help, he’s worthy of supporting his frien...

Another good installment in the series. The plot is starting to move forward again and we also got some good backstory and character development. I highly recommend this series

This one picked up again. There's been a lot more character development and I'm really enjoying the story.

It's just so damn great that the series presents both good and terrible people, so much variation in the cast! Some awful kids grow up & try to be better (Shoya), some just get better at shifting the blame (Miki) and others remain same heartless bastards they always were (Naoka) ... aaaaaand then there's just people you'd like to set on fire & throw off a bridge (Shoko's paternal side of the family)All the awards to grandma chapters

*This review is for the series as a whole with 4.5 out of 5 stars*It's been quite a long time since I indulge myself into reading manga even though I never stopped watching anime, haha. I guess it's time to catch up with my manga reading list eh?Koe no Katachi or is also known as A Silent Voice wasn't really in my list, but I've been seeing a lot of post about it in my Facebook feeds and there's a movie just shown. They said it's going to be a st...

Rereading volumes 1-4 and finishing the rest of this series in anticipation for the animated film adaptation coming out in September. I'm so excited!! (view spoiler)[ I love the cover of this one, just look at it! So you have Shoya's classmate Miki arrange for Shoko, herself and a few friends to go to an amusement park for a day! Sounds fun, right? Wrong. Naoko Ueno rears her ugly head (again) and she confronts Shoko after Shoya insisted that she...

This is a great series, The start was a great (I was blown away) and I like dynamics and relationships going on between the main two characters especially. How interesting it can be where the deaf girl was once welcomed and everyone wanted to help her then she just kinda interrupted their schedule and became an inconvenience which lead to the others tolerance of her being bullied or bullying her themselves. Interesting also to see that her main b...

The fourth volume is an improvement over the third, and this continues to be a very good teen series about friendships, disabilities, and the loneliness and angst that comes about when you don't really know how to properly communicate your feelings, which continue to change dramatically, of course. More secondary characters develop and complicate the scene in this one. Family issues come into play, too. This is one of the better teen manga series...

  • Aaron
I found it throughly enjoyable, playing on different emotions very well. The story added both more content and characters effectively, adding important back story without feeling shoehorned in. I Can't wait to read the next book!
  • Cate (The Professional Fangirl)
People never *really* change. That's a fact.

Shoko just looks so fucking adorable on the cover!
