3.5 stars! This Disney channel movie novelization starts out right where The Isle of the Lost ended. Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos have spent their whole lives on the Isle, because of their villainous parents. But when Prince Ben declares that the 'innocent' children of the Isle of the Lost should be given a second chance, they find themselves sent to Auradon, with a special mission from their parents to take down the kingdom and bring Fairy Godmother...

Perfect novelization of a perfect movie ♥ (I'm such Descendants trash lol.)

5 🌟It was nice to see what happened to the heroes and villains in the movies that we grew up with. The next generation all seem to be cool. Glad that Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay are doing well at Auradon. Wonder who the villains' significant others are. Can't wait to read Descendants 2!!!!

Just to clarify, I never watched the movie, nor have I ever heard of a movie about the Descendants.3.5 stars. I almost didn’t want to read the book, as the cover for this one is just terrible and horrendous, and it doesn’t make me want to read the book, nor (when I found out) watch the movie. Yes, I am still a cover lover, and covers need to attract me. But I decided for once to just go for the blurb and check it out, and I am glad I did as t...

This was certainly amusing, I have to say! I love the idea, and I vaguely remember seeing a snippet of the movie on TV before the place's channel switched, so I can't compare. But the book is short, sweet (well...sorta sweet *wink*), and something fun for a Saturday afternoon.

Amazing! It was the same things that happened in the movie, just in a book!!!

The Descendants4/5 starsOh my gosh it's over and I'm bummed out. I've (through no fault of my own) developed a highly unhealthy obsession with this world and these characters.Obviously, this wasn't as well written as the Isle of the Lost, because Melissa De La Cruise didn't write it. But I enjoyed it nonetheless. I wanted to watch the Disney Channel movie as soon as I finished the prequel, but, since I was pretty late on the whole "descendants" t...

Chapter 1Mal is the narrator also daughter of maleficent, and she tells us how her mother cursed sleeping beauty and her kingdom all those years ago. This is a novelization of the movie, so it's literally one big spoiler (like the diary and spellbook weren't) so be aware of that if you want to watch the movie. I personally dont mind spoilers. They actually make me more excited for whatever I was spoiled for. So I REALLY liked this book, and I'm super excited for the movie!!!

A great short read!!!!!! Loved the creativeness of imagining what would it be like if all the Disney stories we have grown up with also had kids & the moral of the story: good triumphs evil of course!!!!!! :)

Mal and her friends are welcomed into the world of the good, but little do they know Mal and her friends have a few tricks up their sleeve. This book is filled with anger, love, and and desire.

As I've said before: yes, yes. I know. The whole 'Disney movies are for kids' thing. That applies to books, too, allegedly.. I watched the movie because Jafar is my favorite Disney villain. Sadly, he didn't have a big role in the movie, nor did he have a big one in this novelization. This was not as good as the movie. The movie seemed intended for teens/young adults while this book, at times, seemed to be for toddlers.Early on, the author describ...

The next generationWhat happens when the heroes and villains of our fairy tales have children of their own? Disney is ready to tell us. Here is the story of children of villains vs children of heroes, and the one that thinks they all deserve a second chance. When the daughters of Malificent and the Evil Queen and the sons of Jafar and Cruella Deville are invited by the son of Beauty and the Beast to attend his school, their parents think it's a g...

Truly terrible. No matter how low you set the bar, this book will limbo under it. Even for a movie novelization, it's pretty bad. Even for middle-schooler-written fan fiction, it's pretty bad. No character development, just a blow-by-blow retelling of each detail of each scene in the movie (I must assume - I haven't seen it and now have no desire to do so). The quote that comes to mind is, "What you've just [written] is one of the most insanely i...

In the movie novelization we meet the evil villains kids and follow their adventure from their town into the land of the good where all the Prince and princesses kids live and go to school. So when two opposite groups collide, they clash but still integrate too as they discover love and friendship and find themselves actually having fun, will they go through with their wicked plan?It is a great story with the characters being led it seems by Mal s...

This book follows the Disney movie "Descendants," word for word as much as possible, just adding visual descriptions and short summaries of what happens during the songs. In the story, Mal and her friends, all children of Disney villains, are invited to study at Auradon Prep, a high school filled with princes and princesses. At the demand of their parents, the children attempt to steal Fairy Godmother's magic wand, only to wonder if goodness isn'...

Pretty goodIt was nice the only thing I didn’t like about it is that we don’t really go into their thoughts that deeply, but for the ages this is meant for I think this is just fine. I mostly read this book because I’m reading the book of the isle series and wanted to make sure I remember the movie well and since I didn’t feel like watching the movie I read this.

As a fan of the movie, I figured I would enjoy listening to this as a filler-type between murder mysteries. I didn't even realize it was on CD until I found it at the library. This follows exactly like the movie. Great novelization!

Written like a junior high student with a C in English. I wasn't expecting much from the plot, having never seen the movie and having no desire to, but the readability of the novelization was very, very bad.

Good but read before watching the movieThis book is actually like the movie ... But if u seen the movie a hundred times like me, there is no used to read the book. My suggestion is you read the book first and then watch the movie. " I Am rotten to the core. "

This book takes every trope of teenage angst and romance it possibly can and squeezes it into the first five minutes. Not. interested.
