This book is just as great as the first, it really develops the characters of the story even more. I love how the story turns and ends up in the main characters favor. It really was interesting how people react to Aster getting into a guild and how he is respected even though he is the lowest of all of the magic knights. He is finally able to work towards his goal. This book has surprised me in many ways.

I'm highly enjoying this one! Things escalate in the second volume with more powers, more characters, and more fun and adventures. I can't wait to see more of Asta, Yuno, Noelle and the rest of the gang!Luck was definitely a highlight for me in this volume. We get introduced to his back story and his powers in battle. Looking forward to more from him too!Bring on volume 3!

Black Clover vol 2: Those Who Protect wraps up the fight that started at the end of volume 1, shows us some of the towns and shops and then flings Asta and his new friends into yet another dangerous exploration with enemies waiting around the corner. Let’s break it down. Magna doesn’t get much time in this chapter. With almost all his magic used up, he’s pretty much in the background in the fight against Heath at the beginning. But we do le...

Continues to be entertaining. There are a lot of usual tropes in this series making it feel familiar. There are the guilds a la Fair Tail, the spell books a la Zatch Bell and now a dungeon hunt a la Magi. Put it all together though and it's fun. This volume is mostly a dungeon quest so there are lots of traps and battles.

Black Clover 2 continues to build upon the legend of Asta and Yuno - the two 'street rats' who will rise up in the ranks of wizards with both desiring to take the top position. The story is building slowly, with Asta and Noelle trying to find their magic (or lack thereof) by doing assignments for the Black Bull squad. There are the usual battles and surprises; I'm greatly reminded of Bleach with every volume.Story: Asta's odd magic-negating sword...

The manga is going too fast for my taste not with the story but the character and their emotional development. things just seem too convenient and forced . the way Aster feels about Novelle is one of the things. I get it he has that kind a nature but still shouldn't they need a reason to bond before he feels anything for her. the problem and villains that show up are too plot centric he needs to know something ok the villain will make him underst...

Asta's first mission has become a slugfest between his team and a group of mages trying to murder the entire village. Who are they? Who are they working for? Why destroy the village? I smell secrets and conspiracies~We also get to go shopping then it's on to a dungeon raid where we run into a familiar face.

Asta and Juno has this cute sibling/twin relationship and it's so cute. They have such a "if at first you don't succeed, try and try again" attitude. And how dare one of the sensei tryna make Juno a pawn. Juno's born to be a leader or at least and assistent to one, not someone else's pawn to be killed.

I feel this book was lazy. I kinda like how fast it’s going compared to the anime but it isn’t stopping or slowing enough to be impactful in any way. It’s good fun at points but it should be better. At times it feels like a whole page is missing. The art could be better to. The dungeon chapters ended up being confusing because it was hard to make out what was what.

This is a fast read and is just as good as volume 1. You get to find out more about the characters and see them impress others with their power

Funny continuation of the first manga. I like the characters even better now.

    Yeah Asta!!!

I didn't like this second volume as much as I liked the first one. I think an anime adaptation could be so much better because I like the characters and the plot, but there's a lot of action and fighting scenes that you can enjoy a lot more if you watch them, instead of reading them. I don't think I'll go on reading the manga, but I can't wait for the anime adaptation!

4 starsI’m giving the sports manga a little break and diving into a fantasy series. Black Clover is a shonen fighting manga with magic, ridiculous spell names, and my favorite character type – the underdog who never gives up. Count me in!Asta has found a home with the Black Bulls, the band of delinquent Magic Knights. Yuno has moved up in the world and is a member of the Golden Dawn, a group of gifted, well-respected mages. Guess who’s havi...

I think my ambivalence about this series stems, at least partially, from the way the female characters are drawn. Skimpy outfits are the norm for them--even when they're exploring a dungeon, which...OH yeah, I TOTALLY want to worry about my super-short skirt in the middle of dodging traps and fighting for my life. What bothers me more, though, is that basically ANY time there's a chance for an angle that emphasizes their bust or their rear, that ...

What a fantastic series!! The second graphic novel picks up the pace from the first and just runs with it. The artwork is energetic and the story gets you pumped up. Yūki Tabata is fantastic at drawing action scenes. He excels at moments of impact... some of them are actually really funny, too...Do yourself a favor and pick up these graphic novels. If you really enjoy shonen or fantasy manga, you're gonna dig Black Clover.

~3-3.5/5Asta and his teammates are finishing up a battle as this volume starts, and they do much better than anyone expected of a bunch of misfits. And because of this, their leader gives them a difficult job in a newly discovered dungeon. The dungeon has some interesting challenges for them, plus they’re competing to reach the prize first. Asta runs into Yuno here, and even though they’re rivals, they’re also friends. They know how to fight...

THE GOOD Asta; I continue to love Asta in this volume. Especially when he leapt in to get that old woman's money back from the thief. He acted on instinct, which shows he holds no bias towards helping people in trouble and his desire to protect people is strong. Luck: Oh, I think I just found my new character. He's charming and crazy - really heavy on the crazy. He loves to win, maybe a bit too much. Noelle: Okay, she got a little bit better. But...

I get the feeling that this will be one of those manga series that, if I keep reading, I'll just "ho hum" my way through. It's better than the first volume, but not by much. It's mostly big battle after big battle without much of a break between for character or world building.A part of me is curious how this manga will continue, but for the most part I find myself not caring all that much for any of the characters. Most of the new characters bug ...

Black Clover is a decent, but not exceptional, shounen so far. With its underdog hero, shadowy villains, and fast-paced action, I think it will be familiar and fairly enjoyable to most shounen fans. The characters and concepts are fairly simple, but fun, set against a more simplistic art style. I'm still not sure if I'll stay in until the end, but it's brought enough to the table and set up enough mysteries that I plan to keep going for now.

AwesomenessI love this series. I can't wait till October 4 when the third volume is released. I like how the most powerful is the one with no magic power at all.

24/12/2016Could not resist the temptation, since I bought two volumes together, I was kinda saving it, but whatever! The bromance is real and it ended with a freakin cliffhanger! 3 stars!
