Check out more manga and graphic novel reviews @ Perspective of a Writer...Asta and Yuno grew up together, abandoned at the same church. They both determined to become Magic Knights... Yuno's abilities soon grew to genius levels of power and control while Asta didn't show even a spark of magic and made up for it by training hard physically. It became apparent to both when they received their grimores, Yuno a coveted 4-leaf clover and Asta an unhe...

Not bad, I still like where the story is going, but it isn't as exciting as the first two volumes.

The art is so epic! I love Asta and how strong he is from his own hard work. He also has thick skin, which is an awesome trait to have because he is sure of himself, regardless of the rude and meaningless words that are flung against him. Go Asta! Also, Klaus isn’t too bad either. I like him :D

Another stellar volume of Black Clover! Still in the treasure dungeon our heroes go up against their strongest foe yet! I love the tenacity of Asta and his crew. Even when they were backed up against the wall they never gave up!Also that ending.... new villain + zombie magic? WTF! YES! YES! YES!

In this volume we get the conclusion to the fight with the diamond villain in the dungeon. They manage to defeat him with the tactic of… a fairy coming out of nowhere and saves their ass. That’s correct, they didn’t defeat him, they were plot armored because the author doesn’t give a damn. The heroes go to the capital where they see a whole bunch of magic knights getting promoted for their good work in various missions. None of the Bulls g...

Still in the midst of the battle scene, we get some history on Mars, and the connection between Mimosa and Noelle. While it is better in this volume than the previous, and it does work well, I can't help but feel that this is rushing a bit. We're getting a lot in a short time; some of it isn't as well written or paced as it could be—not to say that it's all badly done, though, and it is easy to read.Aside from that fight, we see that Asta has m...

Can't entirely articulate why I'm so excited about this series or this volume, but this one works beautifully for me. I don't know if this is it, but I realized as I finished that--for me at least--this series feels like Naruto with fantasy magic instead of jutsu magic. (Yes I realize Naruto technically isn't magic, it's more like ninja super powers, cut me some slack.) You have a team of young rivals attempting to rise within a martial order/com...

With recently finishing up Volume #3 of Black Clover, I am continuing to enjoy this story and adventure. I cannot help but continue to connect with Asta's unbreakable determination and self-confidence to prove his worth and power. Even if it is misguided and childish at times. It has been exciting to read the further exploration into the story/characters of Mimosa, Noelle, and The Silver Eagles. It is safe to say that I am officially hooked on Bl...

A band of mages from the neighboring country is also after the treasure of the dungeon. And with them is a strange boy with oddly strong magic. And what kind of treasure is awaiting beyond the magic door?We also get an invite to the palace of the Wizard King and have a run in with the not so nice nobility. Personally, Asta and Yuno make me proud here. I'm very proud of my boys.

As expected, Asta is rash and can't control his emotions nor his actions. I get that he's all for 'let's save everybody' and 'everyone is equal', but he really should learn tact. He's like Harry in a sense. All bravado without a plan.

I'm enjoying the series so far but part of me really doesn't connect with Asta. I connect more with Yuno and he's still a mystery. So, hopefully both will be explored more as it goes in a way that'll help me connect with both. The magic is fun to see though!

This manga has the usual tropes of a shonen manga and that is what makes it so great. Everyone roots for an underdog.

More reviews (and no fluff) on the blog http://surrealtalvi.wordpress.com/ With Black Clover 3, our two boys Yuno and Asta each get power ups as they conclude the treasure arc. The plot repeats with bad guys with better and better powers get ultimately destroyed by Asta's anti-magic. At least with this volume, the 'brothers' get to fight together as their teams unite.Story: The fight in the dungeon gets serious as both Noelle and Asta are serious...

THE GOOD Asta: Asta finally meets an opponent that he struggles against in this one, and ultimately he has to be saved from him. Hopefully this will help Asta grow even stronger. We also see him get another new sword, and this one somehow attacks using water? Interesting.Noelle; Noelle actually gets a lot better in this volume and we learned that her cousin mimosa is not as annoying and unlikable inside first thought she was. We also get a glimps...

Well, that was an amazingly fast read! This volume starts right out mid-battle in the dungeon where the last volume ended. That arc finishes and then our main characters are off to the Capital. They meet the current Magic King and get invited to watch an award ceremony then after-party where they are all insulted by the nobles. But wait, the capital is under attack, there both zombies and personalities clash. Lots of excitement! We also get a bac...
