Such a weird volume. The first half was the fight between All Might and All For One, and it was kinda meh. I don't think Horikoshi is at the level where he can write these big showdowns convincingly. The action is jumbled, the dialogue is confusing and usually pointless, and the pathos level is so over the top that it's impossible to take these characters seriously.Fortunately, the aftermath of this fight was much better. Some character developme...

eta: GUH! That cover! It's beautiful and kinda makes me ache but it couldn't have been better as anything else for this volume.eta2: real edits toward the end of the review but, while I previously did not hide this liveblog (ilu RF) 'review' because of spoilery things, I'm hiding it now because my friend Keitorin is currently reading the manga and isn't caught up so everything below this is now hidden. love ya K, glad you're enjoying the series!!(...

Whew, this was a great and intense volume. I really can't wait to see this arc in the anime as well. It may be my favorite of the series thus far (the whole arc, not just this volume). Now to wait until next month for the next one.

Whew! This volume almost made my cry. So many great moments that will stick with me throughout the future of the series. This volume highlights All Might's illustration/expression of a hero, a teacher, and him being a person. I consider this to be the best volume so far. Due to how great it is, I really hope this isn't the peak of the series; I hope it'll continue to ride this wave of quality since Vol. 1.Ugh! Waiting for the official English tra...

When All For One and One For All face off, only one of them's left standing, but neither will ever be the same. This volume is just packed with incredible details, panels, and fights. Not only do we learn about All Might's mentor, but it turns out that Tomura has a connection to her as well. And seeing All For One use the Quirks he's stolen over the years in all-out battle is something you won't soon forget. But perhaps most of all, this book is ab...

This was so good! The new regulation policy of UA means there will be way more character interactions! I also really loved seeing everyone's rooms (wow, Todoroki really owns my heart) and the scene where we meet Bakugo's dad made me laugh. It's funny how we see who he got the temper from! On a more serious note, the chapter where All Might goes to the Midoriya household made me tear up so much. Izuku has gone such a long way from chapter one, and...

Akhirnya terjadi juga. All Might. The Symbol of Peace... must go....Lalu rada melambat alurnya, kesempatan buat tarik napas dulu. Dan ngintipin kamarnya murid2 kelas 1A satu-satu... 😉Notes to self, aku gak perhatian apa kelewatan mbaca kyknya ya, tp kok kutaktau quirk ibunya Deku ni apa ya? Hmm...

So much more development here, we get to see a glimpse into All Might's backstory which was so cool! Also loved the little slice of life elements thrown in the end to lighten up the mood, especially since the majority of story was pretty intense! Loved this volume, cant wait to read on!

I could complain, but I enjoy a big throw down, and this gave me that. Big change to the story, too, though not quite as big as I was expecting. And even though it’s kind of dumb, I enjoyed the “best room” contest.

I am officially caught up!(!!) Will I keep going, or will I just watch an episode and then read to where it stopped? Even I can't answer this question yet. 😅

(This review utilizes mouse-over image sources/captions [Not compatible on mobile])Wowzers wow wow. This volume marks a turning point in the series!!! (view spoiler)[The baton as finally been passed! All Might has lost the power of One For All, and it's all up to young Midoriya now! (hide spoiler)] I guess I'm still talking in my All Might voice, even now, a whole volume since my last review! Am I annoying? Probably! Do I care? Not really!!!It ki...

Did the series peak at Volume 11? It just may have.

I loved the return to normalcy in the last two chapters of this book! It brought humor back to what has become a really intense and dark storyline.

5 out of 5 stars on Looking Glass ReadsWell, here we are. A new volume of My Hero Academia is being released tomorrow, February 6, 2018. Season 3 of the anime is fast approaching. My Hero Academia Vol. 11 by Kohei Horikoshi is a fast paced race to the end of the current arc, filled with battles, fallout from the numerous villain attacks on U.A., and It’s tense. It’s exciting. And if you listen to OST’s from the anime version when reading ma...

I freaking loved this edition. It was dramatic, suspenseful, and had me at the edge of my seat for most of the time. I also really appreciated the back-to-normal slice of life stuff at the very end because that's what I like most about My Hero Academia: the balance between serious and cool hero stuff and quirky and hilarious school adventures. The dramatic reveal about Tomura being All Might's mentor's grandchild wasn't all that impactful for me. ...

Arguably the best arc of the whole series thus far. Writer & artist Horikoshi has built up to this climatic chapter in "My Hero Academia" for a while. The last volume left me speechless and on the edge of my seat. Finally readers get to see All for One in action. The stakes for the fight between the main villain and our champion All Might is very clear. If All Might loses Bakugo gets captured and the world of heroes will become more dangerous. Fo...

So intense and emotionally overwhelming! That epic fight between All Might and All for One was great but it focused more on the mental and emotional damage. I'm sure the physical action will be highlighted more in the anime. The emotional and psychological changes of the heroes and students are greatly portrayed in this series and stayed true in this volume too. I really love that it's not all about fighting and cool moves. It's so much more that...

All For One has emerged from the shadows, and All Might is the only one that can stand in his way! Plus, UA has a new idea to help keep their students safe - if they can convince their parents! This is a big turning point for the series, and I'm surprised it's happened this early on. There's definitely a sense of this being the end of an act, and things are likely only going to get worse from here on out for everyone involved. There's a lot of emo...

4/5 starsThose last few chapters in this volume are genuinely some of my favourites. This really feels like the end to Midoriya's Origin/All Might's downfall arc, which is basically what the past 99 chapters has been chronicling, and we're about to start a brand new part of Midoriya's rise to become the #1 hero. I think the pacing has been incredible, with the perfect blend of character and world development alongside brilliant fight scenes. It f...

I think this might be my favorite volume of My Hero Academia, so far. So much happens here, from the gripping conclusion to All Might's fight against All For One, to the restructuring of UA, to the light-hearted palette cleanser that comprised the last two chapters, it's kind of amazing that it all fit in the confines of a standard-sized volume. Especially without any of it feeling rushed or bloated. While earlier installments have certainly had ...

This volume contains the conclusion of All Might's fight, which leads to some major changes for this universe. We also get to meet parents of some of the other students (briefly) which was sort of cool. The last chapter and a half was sort of useless, kind of cool, but not necessary towards the plot--better not to skip it, though, as there's one little snippet of conversation that is important and its right at the end.

This volume started off super intense and then mellowed out a little too much towards the end. That said, I didn't mind the mellowing out either. I absolutely love these characters and their forever altering equations among one-another gives this manga an even more authentic feel. Also, I don't intend to spoil anything for the people who haven't read this yet, but a major plot-twist awaits you in this one.And now since the anime is back, I cannot...
