Great book to help teach your kids how to come up with solutions to their struggles. As a father of a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old-going-on-14, I'm always on the look out for books that can teach my kids valuable life lessons. It's tough to teach young children how to convey the feelings that they're having. How do you explain the subtle difference between anger, frustration, and sadness to an emotional little human who's just learned barely the di...

This book is about a boy named Sebastian and how he handles different things in life. He talks about simple tips for when a friend is mad at him, when adults are frustrated at him, when adults won't listen to him, or when his sister is bugging him. It gives tips like, saying "Excuse me," or asking politely. I think it's main theme is teaching kids that they can handle it when things don't go their way, and how to do so. Kids often have melt downs...

A Cute Story With a Great MessageThis is a great story for young children. The message relayed throughout this book is an important one. We all get frustrated, annoyed, sad, etc. There are times we don't get our way. This book passes along less-than-great situations that are common to most children, and offers solutions on how to handle those situations. Some solutions are practical, others are simply humorous. The illustrations and language used...

This book follows Sebastien and all of the problems and difficult emotions he faces throughout the day. However, no matter what situation he is in, he has a positive attitude and he lists out things he can do in order to change his emotion, or he looks at the brighter side of things. This would be an amazing book to use to help kids learn how to deal with their feelings and the right responses to a bad situation. An activity to do with this book i...

    • I think this book is extremely motivational. A lot of times I can get caught up in the moment of my distress and focus on that rather than pursuing a solution to the problem. Even when Sebastien felt most discouraged, he analyzed the situation and brainstormed ideas. This book was encouraging to me and I will one day read it to my students. I would definitely recommend it to others because it is moving. • I would give this book 5 stars. •...

Missing deeper substance I read this book keeping in mind a specific student. This book is a well written and thoughtful book. The illustrations are very sweet. For me, it’s just missing a brief explanation of consequence and the perceived disrespect when emotions can’t be controlled. I think it’s ok to let the child know that when he’s not “handling it” he needs to take a time out to reflect and regain control.

I read this aloud to all of my students in K-2nd grade. Sebastian can handle anything. Through the book, we learn about situations that make Sebastian angry, annoyed, disappointed, ashamed, etc... In each instance, he thinks of 3 options to handle the problem. It a humorous way, Wright teaches kids about mindfulness and thinking before you act.

Short, sweet and to pointThis book was short and got to the point. I wish that there were more situations that kids would find themselves in, but I get why it doesnt. It's the simplest things that can have an impact. I also wish that the illustrations were a little more animated and more colorful. Not bad though.

I thought this book was a good read. It discussed some tough emotions for children and had some good, as well as some silly ideas on how to handle those emotions. My son struggles with self-esteem at times and I think this book is a good reminder that “he can handle” the tough stuff.

This would be definitely a very good pick for growing kids as it excelled to describe the feelings and What are the alternative approach they can take..Would say the simplified steps which an adult can also learn to avoid the disaster happens due to the reaction we exhibit during mood swings..

What I would give to have books like this and the rest of the series when I was a kid. All of them not only say that it's okay to feel the way you do but gives you a few constructive ideas on what to do about them. Action steps, it's all about moving forward even when you're feelings say no.

Simple genius Because I have children who suffer from anxiety, this means a lot. It validates much of what we have been taught about affirmations. I can't wait to have them read it.
