Essentially this book is a series of conversations, on wisdom that Oprah has had with some of those leaders in “great thought.” Some of these were guests of her Super Soul Sunday show, guests whom she knew had been on their own spiritual journey and, as she says, their “wise words have led me to knowing for sure that we are all spiritual beings having a human experience.”I listened to the audio, and it was very different from what I had e...

Oprah Winfrey's latest book is a book to be read and re-read often. The book is sectioned into 10 chapter groups - Awakening, Intention, Mindfulness, Spiritual GPS, Ego, Forgiveness, Broken Open, Grace and Gratitude, Love and Connection. The order is quite telling; notice that "Ego" is right in the middle, followed by forgiveness. If we envision these topics as a bell curve, it's an uphill battle to learn to deal with the Ego, after learning it, ...

I just got this book yesterday so I am just a few pages in and I got to say, it is AMAZING! The book itself is BEAUTIFUL. Like the old school books with the fabric type of cover. It is perfect for coffee tables. The pages inside are BEAUTIFUL as well - beautiful pictures on most pages and there are quotes and then there are stories. If you like Super Soul Sunday, you will definitely love this book. If you love quotes, you will love this book. If ...

Want wisdom? Go to the wise. That's what Oprah does. She's a master at asking questions and listening deeply. When you talk to the wise, that's all you have to do...ask questions and sit back and listen. I couldn't wait to get into the car each day for my ten-minute drive to work so I could listen to these amazing conversations. I want more Super Soul conversations.

Beautiful and very inspirational. Just the book the soul needs especially when you are feeling lost and need some clarity to go forward. Will definitely be referencing this book anytime I need to take a breath and focus. Oprah never disappoints.

I will admit that I skimmed the majority of this book, mainly cause of how repetitive it became. However I did like the interviews with famous actors on inspiring beliefs about life, love, spirituality and things of this nature. I REALLY loved the last chapter when Oprah asked celebrities to define what is the difference between Religion and Spirituality. While I enjoyed what everyone had to say Iyanla VanZant definition affirmed why I love her s...

I was given this book by a very dear friend. Every Sunday I would sit with my coffee and read a page or to, savoring the words of wisdom. I would reread passages that resonated with me. Some applied, some did not, but they always made me think and reflect. I will pay it forward and pass along this book to others.

I listened to the audio version of this book earlier this year and then, more recently, I purchased the book so that I may have it to refer back to and they are both so completely different. I loved them both but, Wow!, they are so different from each other. The audio version has excerpts from Oprah's live interviews from her Soul Sunday show and the book has many, many pages of insights and quotes from wise, and famous people that Oprah admires ...

A beautiful book that explores topics including mindfulness, forgiveness, and fulfillment. Really enjoyed the wide variety of insights from all different types of authors, doctors, religious leaders, and world leaders. Fascinating stuff!

A wonderful soul-searching book. Insights taken from her television series "Super Soul Sunday" Each one is a gem in itself. Very thought provoking.Everyone should read.

not really my cup of tea

I listen to the audio book on repeat. A favorite, to be sure!!

This is a beautiful, rather small book that comes across as a bit of a coffee table book. The photography is beautiful, but the content is rather useless. Oprah includes little snippets of conversations that she has had with mostly what I would call her 'old crowd' meaning mostly people she used to have on her daytime talk show before OWN (which I have never seen). Topics are good, but there is little meat to them.

The book itself is beautiful and the content is good--but I would recommend listening or watching the actual interviews as the wisdom is much more powerful when it's spoken and when it's in context of a conversation. This book is merely excerpts from many of those interviews.

The body can be ‘rented out’ but not the soul. We are part of the Great Soul and we are all close to one another. We came from one place and if we look closely, we are not so very different, and in the end we shall all return whence we came. So the greatest wisdom of this book is to convey to all of us that we're not so very different... The main problem is just to see the bigger picture: we all form a huge circle, everyone is so familiar, an...

From the first time I saw this book, I wanted to read it. Yet I never physically read the book because my wife encouraged me to listen to it on Audible (something I don't usually do, but am glad I did). This is a fabulous collection of interviews with some of the most important spiritual thinkers of our day. Oprah has compiled them in this book to line up somewhat with her own journey of discovery. What I appreciated was that each section gave us...

This book can be great. It has a great deal of big names in it. On the one hand there are many people I respect like Jack Kornfield, President Carter, Paulo Coelho and Ram Dass. On the other hand, there are many self help personalities like Joel Olsteen, Jack Canfield, Russel Simmons, Gretchen Rubin and Elizabeth Gilbert who seemed to be solely focused on revenue generation. The book is beautifully laid out usually with something like an inspirin...

I highly recommend listening to this book (I checked it out from the library), but I also would've loved to have it right in front of me so I could highlight different a-ha moments! I loved listening to the actual interviews because it's in the concept of a conversation. Oprah is a master at asking questions and listening deeply. When describing this book to others-I just told them "YES, SO MUCH yes!" There was one chapter that the concept I didn...

Certain chapters are phenomenal and I will likely listen to those again and again. Others are a bit overly religious, including some discussion of a near-death experience. As an atheist, I can work with the idea of a spiritual "god" in the place of a traditional Judeo-Christian "God", but my brain struggled to find a work-around for the near-death experience discussion. Overall, a good listen, but a couple of chapters were skipped.

This was such an enlightening book and it was wonderful to listen to, as Oprah interviewed different philosophers, learned authors and religious leaders on their perspectives of spirituality and faith. I should have this available in my car all the time, at the ready to listen to and to calm down with. I think it is better listened to as you hear the words from the actually people. LOVE!!

Loving Oprah like I do, I asked my hubby to get this for me this Christmas. Such a treasure! I purposely held back finishing this too quickly. I never wanted it to end! Pearls of wisdom from her many sit down interviews with authors and spiritual leaders. I plan on keeping this on my nightstand, reading a passage each morning when I rise. A great plan to set my day on a good path.

Snippets from Oprah's conversations with spiritual leaders, CEO's, nuns, athletes, writers, designers, psychologists, etc. I loved reading others' opinions on life, spirituality, gratitude, brokenness, connection. Many people I would never have heard from if it weren't for this book and everyone had a small piece of truth I could resonate with. My husband made fun of me because I said Oprah had too much to say. "Um? Isn't this Oprah's book?"

An amazing introduction to spirituality, definitely recommend that you listen to the audiobook over the book as each chapter is an interview with a spirituality author. My favourite chapters were 1, 2 and the forgiveness chapter.

A more fulsome review is pending but although I liked the feel of this book, the thick quality pages, the beautiful, calm pictures behind the text, it did not resonate. While there were some helpful words of wisdom, i expected more spirituality and less religious content.

    A nice book of inspiration!

A excellent book. We read it in stages in the mornings to set ourselves up for the day. It was a wonderful way to start the day.

The perfect audible for a dreary Sunday. I listened to it while I cleaned the house and loved every minute of it. In this book Oprah goes back to moments of impactful interviews with very inspiring people. I would definitely recommend for people that need a little pick-me-up for their soul.
