I really liked and enjoyed this book. I'm rating it 4.5 stars. The only thing that was missing was that i needed more romance. I loved both main characters. The plot was interesting and unique. Beautifully written and executed. I love this series and can't wait for the next 2 books of the series. I also hope we will get books for some of the side characters.

I preloved this one…I knew that I was going to love Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon (great name, but so bloody long). I have a sweet spot for dragon shifters. OH NO!! I just gave a spoiler!!! Well, I don’t think it was too spoilerish. After all, I’m pretty sure it would be a physically impossible nightmare for an elf to make love to a dragon (shudders). So, straight up we know that we’re dealing with a fierce, hot and high-flying d...

ARC provided by NetGalley for an honest review.Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon is a dual POV from Gwennore (aka Gwen) and Silas. Gwen has a talent, just like all of her adopted sisters. With one touch she can tack down the cause of an illness and heal it. Oh, and she also found out that she can hear dragons and trees AND speak back to them.Any book with shape shifting dragon hotties can count me in to read it. Before I dive into this revie...

This review was originally posted on Addicted To RomanceI received this book for free from St. Martins Press in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Eight Simple Rules For Dating A Dragon is a story that I have been looking forward to for a YEAR and so to say that I was excited is putting it mildly. Now I won't say that I loved this book as much as book two (which is still my favor...

Fun, fast and full of intrigue Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon caught my attention right away.Gwennore, one of the special children born with gifted powers, was watching her sister by choice's daughter while they were picked flowers when a dragon swoops down to steal the baby away. Gwennore grabs on not wanting to let the dragon fly off with the child and ends up rescued by another dragon when she slips off mid air. She quickly discovers s...

ARC received for reviewThis series is amazing. I'm loving every book. This one starts several years after book two. You won't be lost if you haven't read the first two, but they will make this one more enjoyable. Silas and Gwennore are great together. Lots of drama, passion, angst, action, adventure, and dragons. Oh, and trolls, yes they do exist. The side romance with his cousin, Dimitri, and Annika was a nice bonus. That stupid Chameleon is bac...

4 Sparks Fly StarsEight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon is a standalone and is part of the Embraced series. You can read the books out of order. I really enjoy these books, even though it’s a slow burn historical romance book. Well, kind of historical, it’s not entirely accurate since the author writes with a little slang, but it adds good humor value. The thing about slow burn books is all the tension! Gah, you read like hundreds of pages o...

*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's*This is the third book in The Embraced Series. I’ve read every book in this series and would highly recommend reading them in order. This author’s books are seriously addictive, captivating, funny and action packed. Gwen has been scorned by people for her looks and heritage. She’s judged by others due to the actions of her kind. Who will see her true beau...

This story takes place a little after book two and now it’s Gwennores turn. After having the telling stones picked for Gwennorr she knew her time was coming but until then she lived with her sisters. Life was good she had almost all the people she loved around her and it couldn’t have been better. Except for the people who hated her because she has elf blood. Her family loved her deeply but others thought less of her. because of her lineage. ...

Four and a halfThis series about 'embraced' women who have grown up together is just so imaginative and fun. In this book it's Gwenmores turn to step into the limelight and boy does she have a huge problem. When the young princess is snatched by a dragon ( told you it was huge ), Gwenmore tries to follow but then she's dropped only to be saved by another dragon ! What makes everything worse is discovering that as an elf Gwenmore is considered to ...

Terrific story that grabbed my undivided attention right from the very beginning. Author Kerrelyn Sparks sets a playful tone through the personality of the hero, General Gorgeous, which really endeared the book to me. Gwennie was equally lovable as a true heroine in her own destiny. There's sexy dragon shifters, intrigue, jewels, sexy dragons, romance, sweet little girls and did I mention dragons, to steal any romance readers heart. As if the Gen...

This book was an absolute delight! It seems like lately I’ve been reading books where the guy is a jerk to the heroine, she is feisty but eventually gives in no matter how crappy the guy previously treated her. There’s usually some type of mating bond, since it’s a fantasy or PNR, and it explains away his jerky alpha male behavior. If you want to read a book like that, this one is not for you. Silas knows what he wants, he goes after it, and...

Okay so, I made a mistake. I did not read the first two books in this series before I got this one (Thank you, Netgalley!) I definitely should’ve read the first two first. The story was excellent. And even though I had missed the first book, which is when most of the world building is done by any author, I absolutely fell in love with this world. It was a bit confusing to keep the various countries right at times, but I genuinely think that was...

Eight simple rules for dating a dragon is the third book in the Embraced series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from cover to cover. I almost read it all in one seating but my eyes started blurring and my husband kept asking if I was going to turn off the light soon, so since it was 1 in the morning I figured I better finish it later.I really liked how the relationship between Gwen and Silas developed over the course of the story and it wasn't a ...

I loved this book. Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon is the first book by Kerrelyn Sparks that I have read. It is the 3rd in the series and I am looking forward to reading the first two. This book has a little bit of everything from Elves, Trolls, Dragons, sentient trees, romance, all that and more. If you like fantasy and romance, this book is for you.

This is outside my normal romance genres I typically read, and I had a hard time figuring out which tags to use. Paranormal romance? Supernatural powers? Usually when I use these tags they're in more of a contemporary fiction kind of setting, not a medieval-ish fantasy, but at the same time they sort of fit? The tags I am sure of are romance, fantasy, and dragons! The world building is really interesting, with people born on one of the two lunar e...

This story was an entertaining, quick, and delightful read. I would regard this as a light fantasy complete with a couple, a journey, a villain, and an entourage. That said, I can't help feeling like this story has all of the cliche romance tropes. A misunderstood, virginal, heroine, Gwennore is judged by the royal court as unworthy of the Hero. She is an Elf and the Norveshka kingdom is currently at war with the Elf land Woodwyn. The Hero, Silas...

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this book!I absolutely LOVED this book! It's the 3rd book of the series and it's my favorite. Why?1) She's an elf. He's a dragon-shifter. Enough said. At least for me. Hahaha. But seriously, dragon-shifter romances are one of the tropes I really enjoy; so the fact that she's an elf is extra bonus points. 2) The banter between Gwen and Silas was gold. Their conversations/scenes were funny, witty, sexy, and so ...

Silas is a very defensive man, “would you stop calling him Puff? He’s a war dragon, for Light’s sake.” I think Silas takes pleasure in embarassing his woman, "with a groan, Gwennore pulled the sheet over her face. “That’s my snookums,” he teased. “Always trying to sneak a peek at the crown jewels.” With a huff, she lowered the sheet and scowled at him." I don't understand why Silas is getting all in a tizzy, the man can't be jea...

Love this series. I really appreciated that it was Dual POV - CANNOT stand when it's a romance and there's only one POV. This is Gwen's book. Gwen has a talent, just like all of her adopted sisters. (By the way such a sucker for this series. 5 "orphans" all with different powers/backgrounds and they are all sisters with a books for each girl. I'm in hog heaven) With one touch she can tack down the cause of an illness and the path to healing it. A...

Gwen was sent away when she was a baby because she was born on a special day. She was going to be blessed with special powers and was sent away to be kept safe. Gwen never new who her patents were.Silas is a dragon shifter who is trying to Dave his people. His people believe in a curse that is hundreds of years old. One in the is able to conceive either, he's afraid they will just die out.Gwen is a healer with the power to know what makes the per...

Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon is the third book in The Embraced series by Kerrelyn Sparks. I liked first two books and was looking forward to the next installment. This book centers around Gwen and Silas’ story but we also get to revisit all the sisters and other characters from previous books. I did enjoy it as much as the first two books and I particularly liked the fact that the main hero, Silas, is a dragon shifter. This series has...

Love Kerrelyn Sparks her combination of humour, sarcastic wit and easy reading story telling makes each of her novels a fun ride. This "Rules" series is a great romp. Love the world and like how she combines the innocence of her females with the worldliness of the alphas who smack their foreheads in frustration over the antics of these women. I can't wait to read the rest of the tales of the "Sisters of the Moon" ....the ongoing who dunnit feel o...

Wow! Much better than I expected. Eight Simple Rules For Dating A Dragon has your typical romance novel cover with the tatted up, muscled guy on the front cover...with no shirt. But it’s anything but typical. The first chapter is slow, with a lot of name dropping that went completely over my head. But, later on (like the next chapter) it picks up, and it’s actually funny? Like, giggles here and there, but also laugh out loud funny too. I did...

4.5 StarsI was in a reading slump, and this brought me right out of it! I like most of Sparks' books especially because they are light-hearted and fun to read. Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon was a good balance of funny banter and a steamy romance, entwined in mystery with a little bit of heartache. I liked this a bit more than book #2. Overall, if you're looking for a fantasy romance, I recommend grabbing this one.ARC provided in exchange...

Great book! I honestly felt a bit skeptical about reading this book. I'm a big fan of the Love at stake series, but after book #10 the series started to drag. I thought this book was gong to be basically going to be a spin-off, but boy was I wrong. Eight simple Rules for dating a Dragon, added a fresh new take on dragon/shifter romance, and honestly it was so refreshing to read a new series with an actual plot, not just a boy meets girl type of S...

I love the way these stories unfold. The characters are fantastic and the crazy antics that Gwen and Silas are always up to not to mention all the sisters. When Eviana is scooped up by a dragon Gwennore hangs on for dear life. When she falls another catches her and brings her along with the little girl.Back when the telling stones told her future she had no idea it would be this!I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was not familiar with this series before reading this story. Even so, I was still able to enjoy the plot. This was a fast read for me and was enjoyable. I wish it would have been a bit more witty. Gwennie and her “puff” were certainly cute. I thought the mystery reveal/villain was a little too obvious. If you want a quick read then this book will entertain.
