It’s about not settling…I think there is one thing that sets Jill Shalvis apart from other romance authors. Her heroines believe in themselves. Maybe it’s because she (Jill Shalvis) has a strong man at her side. Maybe it’s because she (Jill) brought up three intelligent, spirited and beautiful daughters. Maybe it’s because she (J. S.) doesn’t want her heroines or women, in general, to settle for less than what they deserve. Now, all o...

Reviewed for herding cats & burning soup. (live on the blog 1/25/18)Amazon: http://amzn.to/2hG1ZbUAhhhh Jill Shalvis. She does make me laugh. I had fun with About That Kiss. These two were fiery. Stubborn, pigheaded, sexy as all get out. It was fun watching them butt heads and drive each other crazy. In and out of the bedroom. The Gist: A penguin has been stolen. And Kylie...she wants it back. Even if it means begging the sexy yet supremely irrit...

I’ve been a fan of Jill’s books for a while, so I don’t even read the synopsis any more. Especially for this series. Love love loved Kylie and Joe. She’s tougher than she thinks and has the biggest heart. He’s gruff and stand off-ish. Together they have loads of chemistry and some sweet moments together. I truly enjoyed the reading them figure things out. Plot wise, it was okay. The “scavenger hunt” isn’t quite as whimsical as it ...

I love this series with all my heart. Kylie and Joe were adorable and sexy and so shippy together.RTC

I’m a bit at a loss here when it comes to writing this particular review. I often associate Jill Shalvis’s books with romantic comedy with touches of the whimsical thrown in, so ‘About That Kiss’ threw me off a little with the genres it straddled. There were pockets of quirky humour that I associate with Jill Shalvis’s writing and those were ever-present here, as were the cast of nosey supporting characters who’d long gotten their HEA ...

Kylie and Joe shared a scorching kiss after a night of celebrating their friends' engagement and both don't know what to do about it. When Kylie's most treasured possessions, a hand-carved wooden penguin, is stolen she turns to Joe for help knowing his skills as a private security firm enforcer/investigator will help solve the mystery. Both try to play it cool but as the investigation heats up, so does their chemistry.AH. So good! I love a great ...

I wasn't looking forward to this particular book but that was only because I hadn't picked up on any vibes between Joe and Kylie. If you love the outwardly badass but secretly marshmallow at the core type (like Archer), you'll love this latest installment to Heartbreaker Bay. It's a simple, entertaining plot that absolutely showcases the crew we've all come to know and love. Although, really, I wanna know when Tina's gonna share her muffin recipe...

Kylie's little wooden carved penguin has always brought her a sense of peace, and been a wonderful reminder of her grandfather...but she never expected it to bring her love! When someone steals it, and holds it hostage she is completely devastated, and is desperate to get it back... even if it means turning to the one person she has always steered clear of... Joe Malone. It's not that she doesn't like Joe, problem is she likes him a little too mu...

Kylie and Joe share an amazing, explosive kiss. Joe never calls or really interacts with Kylie after said kiss.Kylie grew up with her Grandfather, whom was a woodworker and showed Kylie the way to carve, craft, and create amazing pieces. Sadly her Grandfather passed away, and Kylie has always felt responsible for the death of her grandfather. Little does she know, she is not at fault what so ever. Kylie gets a very special wood carving stolen fro...

Probably 3.5 stars. I'm going to hide the review because it's both spoilery and a little too early to share it openly. (view spoiler)[Honestly, this wasn't my favorite in the series. I still enjoyed it and I still love Jill Shalvis' books but this one didn't feel nearly as original as the others in the series. Kylie doesn't do relationships for a variety of reasons but one big one is that her mom goes through guys like crazy and always put them a...

I have to say, aside from Archer (Accidentally on Purpose), Joe is one of my favorite Heartbreaker Bay heroes. Maybe it's because he's so much like Archer: stoic, closed up, poker face, guarded heart. It is pure enjoyment to watch Joe and Kylie's relationship blossom and her very subtle, unknowing, attempts to break through his walls.Jill Shalvis always brings humor into her stories at just the right time and About That Kiss is no exception. Ther...

Jill Shalvis has done it again. The amazing Cow Hollow fountain has brought more people together than Match.com and Ms Shalvis has brought us along to see all of it. In this case, another of the mighty investigators at Hunter Investigation falls. Joe Malone has seen and known Kylie for a long time but hasn't let himself get involved. He doesn't do relationships and she doesn't do one night stands - until they do.It all starts when someone kidnaps...

Who knew a penguin could be so romantic? Apparently Jill Shalvis knew! At its heart, as always, this book is a wonderfully sweet romance. But what is different this time is the suspense woven around Joe and Kylie’s story. Joe Malone’s book in the Heartbreaker Bay series couldn’t have taken shape any other way. Seriously sexy, seriously alpha, seriously guilt ridden, Joe can’t resist helping the sweet goofy woodworker, Kylie, recover stole...

Jill Shalvis is one of my favorite authors. Her books are ones that will have you laughing out loud as your are drawn in to her characters. She writes about strong female leads and their alpha male counterparts. All of her series are good and if you haven't tried one of her books yet you should! I read my first Jill Shalvis book while staying with family in the hospital and I have now read all of her books that I have been able to find! I loved K...

About that kiss is another hit for the Heartbreaker Bay series by Jill Shalvis. I revieved a complementary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review but only because I can't ever wait until street date to get my hands on her books. If you are a fan of contemporary romance, then I'm sure you have every book written by this author, right? If not, what are you waiting for. This book is a continuation of her lastest series of the most lovabl...

This series is what made me a Jill Shalvis fans and this addition was just as awesome as the earlier books. Joe was such a playboy so I couldn't wait to see him fall hard. I'll admit the premise of a stolen penguin carving seemed out there at first but trust Jill Shalvis to turn it into an addictive story line. This book was filled with Shalvis's trademark humor and great romance but there was also a good dose of mystery tossed in. I thought I ha...

Another great addition to this series. Joe and Kylie shared one explosive kiss which they can't believe because usually they antagonize each other. Someone is threatening Kylie so Joe agrees to help in exchange for Kylie making his sister a mirror she's dying to have. One kiss leads to more and two people who never believed love was for them, learn maybe that's not the case.Shalvis blends humor, romance, friendship, and mystery together in a way ...

I love that Kylie had to put her big girls pants on to ask Joe, a friend who she shared a hot kiss with, for his assistance in finding a stolen family heirloom - a carved wooden penguin. Alpha Joe and his need to protect those he cares about adds a fun twist as Kylie is persistent in not being left behind. The more time they spend together, the harder it is to deny their chemistry.Jill Shalvis does a great job of weaving love, humor and suspense ...

What makes reading fun is watching an author explore new directions. About That Kiss is Jill Shalvis veering into new territory, but reminding readers, she has the talent to back it up. While keeping with tradition and seducing our socks off, Joe and Kylie add some mystery to the lovable canvas of Heartbreaker Bay. What began with a kiss grew in a most intriguing way. From a scene stealing dog, to a curmudgeonly father, a flighty mother and a mis...

Joe is one smart cookie at times, “just one,” she said softly. “Can I have another?” Joe didn’t have to be asked twice. His mouth immediately descended again, his fingers sliding into her hair to change the angle of the kiss to suit him." Joe can be an agreeable guy at times, “honey, once you’ve got me naked, you can be whatever you want to be.” I really liked this book, I loved Joe the man was so rugged.

Don't tell my husband but I'm in love with another man-Joe. OMG!!! Perfect, perfect, perfect book by Jill Shalvis!! I don't know how she does it but I'm never disappointed after I read one of her books. Kylie and Joe were such fun to read and their kisses melted the pages. Thank goodness for wood carved penguins!!
  • Rachel
Loved this contemporary romance. Not quite enemies, but definitely not friends, the book begins after these two shared a hot kiss but before these two really knew each other. Both are stubborn, persistent, and a little damaged which creates a lot of friction while working together to solve the mystery of Kylie’s missing keepsake.

Jill Shalvis is my go-to when I want a sweet romantic comedy. About That Kiss is that with a little mystery and suspense added in. This is the first book I've read in this series, and I'll definitely go back and read the others. I love sexy alpha-man Joe and fiesty Kylie. They had great banter and sexy chemistry. This is a perfect book to snuggle up and read on a chilly, winter weekend.

Loved this book! Great characters and great chemistry. Loved Kylie and Joe - totally drawn to each other, neither willing or wanting to accept that attraction. Add in some mystery and suspense, plus a visit with old friends from previous Heartbreaker Bay books, and it was an awesome read. Loving this series!

I just love Jill Shalvis' books so much! This latest installment of the Heartbreaker Bay series doesn't disappoint either, it's just as fabulous as the others! Such a sweet, charming, and funny romance series that I just can't get enough of!

I really like this book. It's romantic, suspenseful, fun and of course hot, hot, hot. I wish the story could be a little longer, I tried to read slow but I just can't stop reading. Love it and can't wait for the next one.I received a free copy in exchange of my honest review.

Joe’s story was great! I was happy to get back to Heartbreaker Bay...it was fun catching up on a few favorites and reading “watching” Joe go down... Kylie was fun to get to know....and I will never say “light saber” in quite the same way. Thanks Ms.Shalvis for making me laugh out loud and for allowing us to believe in wishes again.
