DNF at 60%. I'm not going to make myself miserable by reading a book that I'm not enjoying.I've already had a rough day. I got sunburned during my 4 hour soccer practice I had to run. I now have 2 busted up knees and I pulled a muscle in my back because I'm sick and I was coughing too hard. So this is me being not nice because I don't have to be and listing all of the problems I am having with this book.1) No world building.Nothing. Not enough at...

Title: SpiritedSeries: The Academy of Spirits and Shadows, #1Author: C.M. StunichRating: 4.75 StarsCliffhanger: (view spoiler)[Yes. (hide spoiler)] “Goddess-speed and happy endings.” Now I understand what everyone was talking about, when they said how awesome Spirited was. This book is probably one of the best ones I've read by C.M. Stunich so far.The heroine was all kinds of badass and fun. And Brynn's clumsiness made me love her that much...

Thank you Sharon J for recommending this series to me. This was an incredible read. This is one of my favourite books of 2018. The story was amazing. The characters were amazing. Brynn was amazing. She caused mini-disasters, but I love her so much. I love that she has a big heart. Also, I love her desire for her men. The guys were amazing. I think their individual characteristics made them all better for Brynn. I love that they can be sweet or ar...

Well shit that was flubbing fantastic!!! It had a slow start and one chapter was infuriatingly long but I got through it and ended up loving this! It’s one of my favorites from C.M. and I need book 2 now!!!

I really enjoyed this book although I enjoy most of C. M. Stunich books. The world she brings you into keeps you wanting to know more.Brynn was adorable. She was entertaining and her relationship with her guys was so cute to read about.I am glad I waited to read this because that ending!!Can't wait for the next book.

When I started reading book 1 I really liked it, but then a common theme emerged... everybody dies. In an unnecessary kind of way. As I finished book 2 it just got a little too repetitive for my taste. Same situations where people end up the same way... dead. Keep in mind that this series is a reverse harem and it includes a lot of sex. I understand that she is a ghost magnet and that she can talk to them, but why would you want everyone around h...

A Sensational ReadKUI found this a sensational read and loved every second. I definitely will be trying more of Stunich’s work. This was such a KU bargain that was a 100% jackpot hit.The characters are drawn in full Technicolor and have both depth and complexity as they develop their relationships with each other and with the protagonist, Brynn. The reverse harem aspect is subtly done, leaving the story to gently establish the burgeoning relati...

There are some intriguing parts to this story, enough to keep me interested enough to check out book two. There are also some pretty big plot holes and not much in the way of world building. Overall this was entertaining but yet did drag in places, it's a bit of a mixed bag really. Book two will really make or break this story for me, not sure I'd purchase the book, but am willing to continue on since it's Kindle Unlimited.

3.75 Stars SPOILERS THROUGHOUT: I really enjoyed this book. It was fast paced and I thought that the story flowed well. I was interested in where the plot was going and I was intrigued by the world that C.M. Stunich has created.I liked Brynn. She was different from most female characters I have read about in a way that I can't explain. She wasn't what I expected and I was pleasantly surprised by that. I thought that C.M. Stunich making her ext...

This review originally appeared on BrizzleLass Books.Oh I guess it had to happen one day, that a C.M. Stunich book would come along that just didn’t hit the spot for me. I mean, it was good, but it just didn’t bowl me over in the way I’ve come to expect from a Stunich novel.Spirited features Brynn a spirit whisperer who is determined to make it into the Royal College, she’s also crazy mad in love with the Crown Prince, Air, her best frien...

Loved it!I started of kind of weary but I am glad I stuck with it. The non-cursing annoyed me to no end but I somehow got over it and started to enjoy myself. The world builds as you read... if you pay attention. It is a bit subtle but it is there. The blurb is a spoiler for the next book as well as this one.... I don't know what happened there but whoever wrote it totally screwed up.The story flowed nicely and I really liked the diversity in the c...

So apart from the description being the biggest spoiler of all, this was a good story. Straight away I fell in love with the characters and the world created. I like the punishment for the whole swearing thing. Gotta say the main character is rubbish at keeping secrets. Can’t wait to read the next one.

I liked this story a lot, particularly the characters. Looking forward to finding out more about them all in the next book. There was a lot going on in this book, it isn’t what I’d call an ‘easy’ read, it is complex and gripping.

I really want to say I loved this, but I struggled to finish it. STRUGGLED. The start is great and then it kind of bleh. I don't have a serious investment in any of the characters. The harem promise was lack luster. The things I did like were the world and the magic.

ReviewOkay bad rating becuase main character Brynn is very indecisive. I feel like with the opportunity given she should pf gone all out to help her best friend. Not cry about it for ages. Also the random people who keep joining her harem, is getting a bit odd. Harems can be fun but the characters dont make nuch sense? Only two guys knew each other and some how the other 4 are okay with each other. Also no one seems to fall in love with her for h...

Brynn of Haversey is a spirit whisperer. She has the ability to see and speak to the dead, she can send them to the afterlife. Brynn is a beautiful, curvy small half-breed angel with wings twice her size causing her to be a walking accident. Two left feet doesn't begin to describe her endearing clumsiness. She's an average whisperer who has applied to the prestigious Royal College each year since she reached the age to attend. Each year she has b...

OMG! You can’t end a book there! It just isn’t right!Brynn is a spirit whisperer trying to get into the Royal College with her handler, Jasinda. They were on their last ditch effort to try and get acceptance when Brynn’s entire life is flipped on its axis. She learns thing about herself she never knew, has a Ghost constantly following her now, and an impossible seeming task to perform. However, this task becomes the single most important thing...

This book broke me. And I mean that in the absolute best way possible. After I finished Spirited, I literally stared at my kindle screen wondering when I can get my greedy hands on the next book, because I needed it. I needed it. Spirited introduces us to not only a new realm, but a new (to me, at least) type of characters: spirit whisperers, shadow whisperers, and those who wield magic(k) in ways I've never read about before. I was spellbound. A...

Interesting fantasy world. I have problems with it, though. The protagonist is getting it on with ghosts. It's okay to do that, I guess. But, the author just expects us to buy into it. I need to know how this works. The ghosts are able to become physical enough to have regular sex, but, I'm sorry... they can get her pregnant if she's not careful?... Ghost sperm is a thing?...My other problem with it, aside from the occasional typo that was overlo...

Holy ship! Spirited exceeded my expectations and then some. Not only has this book become my favorite of C.M. Stunich’s (which is saying something because I adore Allison and Groupie), but the heroine is probably one of my all-time favorites out of all the books I have read up to this point. And the men in this book!! I seriously have no idea how Stunich has written 70+ books, and yet in every single one, all of her men (and women) have distinc...

4.5 StarsI've been excited for this book since the author first teased it months ago, and I was not disappointed! I tend to rate reverse harem (RH) books on a personal bell curve I have just for RH books, and this author always is always solidly at the top of the curve for me. I probably still like this author's Rock Hard Beautiful series best of all, but it's a tough call. This is the first book in a paranormal RH series, and it is a full-length ...

This was my first time reading a reverse harem novel and I LOVED IT. The heat was palpable between the characters, though I'm definitely waiting to see more of Vexen. A fun fantasy read. Why choose?Though beware, it does end on a cliffhanger. Thankfully, the second book is out now.The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the fake cursing. I don't have a problem with invented curse words, but the rules around it didn't seem t...

Alright, I have mixed feeling about this one. Things I liked for sure : The unusual world interpretation mixed with (our) world mythology and objects - mainly referring to the Japanese Katana and Yokai - as well as the concept of angels, demigods etc. and the idea of being able to see ghosts right after they die. Apart from that, how the mc met the ghosts and the boys from her harem. Only by the end of the book, we were presented with other chara...

Holy flubbing ship!! I LOVED this book!! From start to finish, it was so fun, different, exciting, sweet, and sexy! All rolled into one exquisite package! The characters were unique and all their own. They each had depth, without an insane amount of boring backlog details but enough to really bring them to life. The realm was complete, the information provided able to really give the reader a feel for the world. And the storyline was simply prefe...

Soooo good! Loved it!!!Absolutely loved ‘Spirited’!!! I anxiously awaited this book, and it was well worth the wait! Brynn is one of my favorite characters!! I love that she is a spirit whisperer double-blessed! I really love all her men in her soon-to-be harem. Elijah is definitely my favorite right now, followed closely by Air and Vex. Talon is hilarious and I’m eager to see more of him. Dyre and Spicer are also interesting and I can’t ...

Stunich, you have yet again wowed me. Spirited is so beautiful written with just a hint or two of some sass. We all love a good sassy character. When i first heard about this series I really thought it was going to be just straight ghostly love. Just Brynn someone stumbling across some men who haven’t passed on yet, however, I didn’t realize who I was reading from! Stunich brought in such a vast variety of love interests. Different orgins, un...

PotentialThis was a really good book, though it took quite awhile for me to get into it. There were lots of missed editing mistakes I found, and in my opinion, Brynn’s “non-cussing” cussing in the beginning was overdone. I certainly have my own potty mouth, so nothing against swearing! Other than that, I really enjoyed this book, and it could be 5 stars if the errors were fixed and the “flubbing” and “blitzing” toned down just a tad...

Favorite book this year!!!This book is just awesome! They live in a land where women having reverse harems is the usual and people that can see, talk to, and exorcise ghosts is normal as well. The MC is a half human half angel, clumsy, ghost whisperer. It starts off with her meeting a ghost and accidentally binding him to herself. Turns out he has important information for the Queen so is taken along to the palace. As the story moves along we mee...
