this is just a sweet breezy romance story of a girl who loves a’s not played for provocative lady/bear taboo like Bear, nor is it going full bore to smuttown like The Maiden and the Bear Gods or Mounted by a Monster: Poking the Werebear nor is it intentionally blending humor and smut like Sex Bear: The Legend Continues/Sex Bear: The Choad Warrior. and while i'm in the midst of being shocked at the number of books i have read that involv...

This was... really odd lol. The art was ADORABLE but I feel like the plot of this was lacking the charm that I assumed it was going to have. Mehhhhhh.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!OMG, I just HAD to have this one when I spotted it during my vacation (yes, even during my vacation I had to check NG to see if there were any new fun books). A girl who, after countless of bad romances, falls in love with a bear. Yes, a bear! Now, I have to say I wasn't as weirded out as many probably will be. I thank manga for that. :P I have seen people date aliens, cats/dogs/...

This was an adorable graphic novel! I bought it on a whim, then took it along on a road trip - it had me laughing the entire time. Who knew a relationship between a girl and an actual bear could be so sweet? Highly recommended. I hope there will be more.

So when this first caught my attention I prepared myself for a deep, possibly more than a little sexually creepy, social commentary on...I don't know...something about not judging people based on appearance? The dangers of labeling and projecting our own preconceived notions of what happiness really means or what defines a successful relationship? I mean this couldn't literally be a book about a woman who meets, falls in love with and has a sweet...

This was a weirdly entertaining read. The animation was great, and the story for the oddest or reasons kept me engaged. I honestly wasn’t sure if I would like it, but... it was... weirdly. entertaining.

No one told me this was gonna be so SAD!!! wtf?? The title is not a metaphor – be prepared to get a sudden desire for camping where you just might meet your special someone roaming the forest. This was cute and sweet and definitely has some great artwork.

    Oddly enough adorable.

2.5 stars This odd. Obviously by the title you can tell that it's going to be an eccentric tale, but I wasn't aware there were going to be actual hints of sex between Nora & Bear. Thankfully it's not on the pages, but it's there in context which just really bothered me. I thought it was going to stay platonic, but I guess not. Took a star off for that because it wasn't necessary to the plot & it's not the type of type of humor I'm into, ...

So I am very confused about what I just read. I thought that this was going to be a story about a girl dating a bear in jest to make fun of her dating experience. It was not, she really dates this bear and falls in love with said bear. The story started out fun and I laughed but by the end I wasn't sure what I had just read? Was this a metaphor? Did I miss it? or was this pro bestiality? (not cool) So idk I gave it 3 stars because the art work wa...

When Emily tells me to read a book, I do it. And I am never disappointed. An unflinching portrait of the challenges and joys of being in a relationship - something so universal in its specificity because of the bear. The art is spectacular and fluid; you really feel the movement and emotions of the characters. A quick read that will stay with you long after you're done reading it. Other notes:I love the panel about bees. I am 100% with the People...

Ok, I liked it. Sweet, to the point. Nora falls in a love with a bear. The bear does interact with society, he has a job, fixes things around Nora's place. Definitely hint of intimate moments, but those are off panel. When it's time to hibernate, Nora and the bear have feelings to deal with.

I expected quirky. Based on growing buzz, I anticipated fun, charming, even sweet. The pleasant surprise was this work's poignancy.Long before I had it in my hands, I knew the premise (girl meets bear, girl and bear fall for each other, etc.) and that this wasn't fantasy in, for instance, a world wherein anthropomorphic animals coexist with people. Bear is literally an animal, not a man who only looks like a bear. That, of course, presents obstac...

*I received this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*Alright this is a hard one to review. See, originally I wasn't going to request this one because the girl is in a relationship with a bear.... then I thought, "There was no way they'd write something like this! Maybe it is a Beauty & the Beast thing or a metaphor..." NOIt is a woman and a bear from the wild. She has bad luck with guys, usually ending up with weirdos or meani...

First, let me say, you have to suspend your disbelief quite a bit in this weird story of a young woman who falls in love with a wild bear. Not a euphemism. A real bear, the kind with fir, that hibernates in the winter. And her friends think he isn't right for her, and she admits he has his faults, but he does love her and her cat, so what more could you want in a boyfriend. This is a play on all those love stories of people who don't seem right for...

Nora has dated a lot of jerks. Now all she wants is a boyfriend that will cuddle. Though friends and family are not always supportive of her choice, she finds the perfect boyfriend in a bear. Their relationship is cute and almost perfect, but what will happen when winter comes?Weird premise, but I loved it!
  • Shadowdenizen
Knee jerk reaction? 3.5 stars. But that may change, as I have mixed feelings about this book on many levels. I'll have to sort my thoughts and post my actual review later

Not gonna lie. I freaking loved this GN. Seriously though. If bears were that civilized and I could have one who cuddled, fixed stuff and even got a job I think I just might. A lot of times it’s hard to find a man who can do all of the above. Maybe I’ll start leaving the garbage uncovered! But for real. I loved this book. It was super cute. The story was great and the art was fabulous.

I give this book 5 bear hugs. I want more graaaaah!

Nora has dated quite a few douche bags in her day. (She said it...) It is no surprise that she wants her next boyfriend to be a CUDDLER! Good Listener! Brave! Smart! Funny! A homebody and outdoorsy fella. WHEW! Clearly she's not one to settle. But she knows it's going to be rough finding the guy. And perhaps that why she's so open to a relationship with the bear that pursues her later that evening. No, not the kind of "Fabulous Bear" RuPaul might...

This was a breath of fresh air for me. I was truly surprised at how deep and touching this story was, and appreciated how different it was from the majority of graphic novels that I tend to read. I loved the main character Nora, and sympathized with her never ending struggle to find a decent, and respectful man that will treat her right. She ends up meeting Bear, and falling in love with him. As you can imagine, living and loving a 500 lb bear ca...
