“Earning It” by Angela Quarles is the story of Pepper and Luke. Pepper is feeling hurt unlike herself after her boyof a year broke of with her and texted her that she was cold. Pepper is starting her new Practice so her life will be focused on that but she would like to prove her old boyfriend wrong. Her friend has hooked her up with a blind date Named Rick. Another A+ for Angela Quarles!Pepper and Luke’s story was interesting in that She has come home and is trying to set up a career as a sports dr. and Luke has been a Navy Seal. Neither has seen the other since they got out of high school. She was the brainy girl and pretty and he was the scrawny kid competing to be as smart as she is. He has a crush on her and she hates him for ruining her science project in the science fair.Good story line and ...

This was just an okay read for me.Earning It by Angela Quarles is the first book in her Stolen Moments series. It offers the unique sport of hurling and a second chance connection. However, the thread of the story wasn’t enough to keep me invested.I’m a sucker for a mistaken identity and what’s more mistaken than thinking someone’s your blind date only to find out it’s your childhood nemesis? This is Pepper’s conundrum, and not only t...

Sexy reunion…I love when a deliciously sexy book sneaks up on me! Sexy, funny, with just the right amount of feels, this blind date goes perfectly wrong and right….Pepper is optimistic even if she’s thinking he will be a stuffed shirt. Rick/Luke is anything but stodgy and their instant connections meant they both dive right into their attraction without wasting any time. How this didn’t feel super-fast is a nod to the author because light...

This was a sweet story of how opposites attract and how even though you may know someone when you are younger, they do grow up and change leaving you with a whole new person. Pepper and Luke are both battling inner demons that with spending time with each other seems to exorcise those. It was an enjoyable read, a bit slow in spots but overall it was a funny, thoughtful story.

Call me crazy, but I didn't care for this book. I didn't feel any chemistry between the characters and could not believe that she didn't recognize someone she hated so much. Just didn't work for me.

WOW!! JUST WOW!! Angela Quarles is a First time AUTHOR for me and I gotta say...WHOA! Earning It left me Hot & Bothered from the moment I started Reading this Book! Pepper and Luke's story is So full of Chemistry between two humans beings...it's a Wonder How these two Dislike each other in High School! Pepper is setup by a friend and mistaken Luke for "Rick" her "blind date" entering a Coffee shop. Of course Luke will go along with it after Peppe...

I found “Earning It” because I adore Angela Quarles and am always eager to read her works. I first learned about this story when it was a part of the anthology “Some Like it Geek” and was super excited for a chance to reread it when it was made into a stand alone! I received an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review and I can honestly say I loved it! This story focuses on Pepper and Luke, high school acquaintances that reco...

My Review:This is a short book, but it's filled with so much great story. I really liked this one. The best thing about it was being in Luke's pov and just how much he was torn by how their meet-cute happened. See, Luke and Pepper went to school together. He always had a crush on her. She always thought he was a jerk. But there was so much more going on in Luke's life than Pepper ever realized. So, when she mistakes him for her blind date (yes, h...

This was the first book I have read by Angela Quarles but I was very impressed.  She managed to snag the reader's attention right from the start of the book and hold it all the way to the end. Pepper is trying to start fresh by moving back to her hometown and the last person she expects to run into is the boy - now a man - who ruined her high school days.  Ty can't believe his luck that Pepper mistakes him for her blind date but then the guilt...

Not having read anything by Ms Quarles prior to this book, I have to ask myself, "why not?" Her writing has created characters that are easy to relate to. She did a great job of bringing two broken people who have history, albeit not necessarily a good one when they were teenagers. Through a case of mistaken identity, the stage was for instant and explosive chemistry. Between Pepper's need to prove herself to maintain her job as a sports doctor, ...

Oooh, a quick and dirty (emphasis on the dirty) mistaken identity romance! Earning It was fun, flirty and honestly, a bit thought provoking. Pepper and Luke are trying to find their way in the world. Pepper is a recent medical school graduate and Luke is a former Navy SEAL. Neither of them has "fit in" anywhere of late--professionally or personally. Pepper's working in private practice trying to put a lapse in judgment behind her, she's ready for...

I really enjoyed this book. Pepper and Luke are fun characters that both have posts that have altered how they view emotions and their impact on their lives.Pepper feels that when emotions get involved, she believes that she loses concentration in her professional life. Her last relationship really cemented her belief. Luke feels like he has to be perfect and worthy before someone can love him. Luke has had a crush on Pepper ever since high schoo...

He decides to continue the charade, not letting her know he's not the man she's there to meet.Pepper, still reeling from a breakup and her ex's parting words, knows she doesn't have time for a relationship as she's trying to start her own medical practice. But a fling? With this sexy man? She is all about that. However, long after the fling should'v...

Pepper shows up at a coffee shop for a blind date looking for a lawyer named Rick. She immediately is attracted to the man she sees sitting by himself, and when she asks if he is Rick he agrees. He is not he is former Navy Seal Luke who also has known Pepper since high school and has liked since then as well. Now playing the part it goes all the way to his apartment. I received a copy from the author; this is my honest review.- The story kicks in as funny and rolls from there.- Good moments: 1. Name your cockroach fundraiser; 2. She leans in a fraction and takes a sniff (totally me to my sons and husband, I just can't help myself they smell so good!); 3. Saying "I'm sorry" followed by reasons, not excuses or nothing, otherwise you're not really sorry - same goes with saying "thank you", followed by why you're...

Pretty good mistakenly identity story. Pepper & Luke were school mates and he was the guy that likes the girl but doesn't know how to tell her so he was not a favorite friend of hers then. They are both and are supposed to be wiser but he is still playing games. He can't resist the pull that he still has for her and thankfully has at least learned how to communicate a little better with age, lol. They have some webs to get through as they work to...

This is the first book I've read by this author, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story follows Luke and Pepper, Pepper is still reeling from being dumped by her ex and his comments that she is cold, she agrees to go on a blind date but sits with the wrong person. Luke can't believe it when Pepper sits at his table in the coffee shop, he always had a thing for her at school so he takes advantage of the situation. What happens if Pepper discovers the ...

This is my first Angela Quarles book, and I must say that I truly enjoyed this read. Earning it follows Pepper and Luke who have a past history that is not nice. Now 15 years later they come together under mistaken identity, and the chemistry they have is off the charts. Both have issues from their childhoods which impacts their adult lives. This is a very sweet, very sexy, passionate, easy to read story that is so enjoyable. The characters are w...

Pepper and Luke both feel like they are not Earning It but time reveals they both deserve it anyway! This is another excellent steamy romance by an excellent romance author! Pepper is a sports medicine doctor who has a blind date and unknowingly runs into a nemesis from high school. He happens to become one of her patients after a one night stand. Now Luke really steps into the pile of crap he created by not telling her who he was. Excellent roman...

First time read from this author but I will definitely be checking out more of her books.Ex Navy SEAL and uptight sports doctor have an accidental blind date. Throw in history from high school, possible conflict of interest and over the top chemistry and you're in for a great read. I loved that while Luke was definitely alpha he wasn't your usual assehole alpha. He had genuine emotions. Pepper was funny and smart and I felt protective of her and ...

Well written book with nice story and plot. A lot of chemistry between the main characters Luke and Pepper. Steamy hot scenes. Lots of passion. But this story also has lies, mistrust, ex, twists, betrayal, laughs and dealing with your past. Luke and Pepper meets again in the most funny way. I liked this. A story that makes you think and feel with the main characters.I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

What can I say, this was remarkably funny and very, very sexy, i've read Angela's time travel series and I like them so imagine my delight in finding out she wrote this excellent story, which by the way, is a short so you can read it whilst having a coffee or glass of wine, whichever takes your fancy.I received an ARC from Netgalley and voluntarily leave my own opinion

I first read Earning it as part of the Some Like it Geek collection, then titled To Score Or Not To Score. I reread the book as Earning it and still love it! I really enjoy the well-placed pop culture references, and reading the story from Pepper’s and Luke’s perspectives Can’t wait to read the next installment of the Stolen Moments series!. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a quick read, but also a fun, flirty, steamy read! A great premise of mistaken identity that lead to a well developed storyline. If you love a Navy Seal alpha with lots of sweetness as well as steam, you'll love this one! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for Netgalley.
