This is just what I needed right now! These characters have my whole heart. I loved the dynamic between Torben and Allete. Their circumstances broke my heart, I just need them to be together and happy. The side characters cracked me up as well, especially Dayna. And talk about a villain...woooo. It doesn’t get much worse than Cathal. Vikings, English royalty, a little magic thrown in...good stuff. Is it the best writing? No. Is it complex and in...

I received this ARC from Red Coat Publishing and the author in exchange for an honest review.I have to admit it has been very difficult for me to write a review for this book. It wasn’t bad, I just felt like something was missing and I can’t exactly put my finger on it.I didn’t particularly like the characters, but one doesn’t have to like the characters, if the story is good enough to keep one’s interest. Both main characters had stron...

Alright, I must admit that very often Viking stories and I, well, let's just say that we don't mix well, as they tend to be rather brutal and I might have a problem with that high level of brutality. In this case though, I fell for the cobination of the author, the cover and the blurb and couldn't resist. After pushing it around a bit and starting, not really starting to read it, I finally put on my big girl panties and started. And didn't stop t...

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thanks Red Coat PR!The Viking's Chosen is the first installment in a new historical fiction series with elements of romance and fantasy. The story follows Torben, a general for the Viking Clan Hakon who has been ordered by his jarl to lead his clan on a raid against England. Meanwhile, he has been prophesied to take a foreign bride who possesses special gifts. These two ev...

This book was such an unexpected and pleasant surprise, and I'm giving it 4.5 stars.I knew nothing about this book but what the cover reads, and I am unfamiliar with the author, but what a great introduction it has been. I was immediately drawn in to the story and stayed hooked throughout the entire novel. It's an easy and well written read, and I think the only flaw with this fast paced story is that I now have to wait for the next book. Book 1 ...

This was a total surprise! I loved it way more than I was expecting, even though I had good hopes because, well, it has Vikings, love, and magic, so I should have known that it was going to be great. It's not very fast-paced but it never got boring for me but I guess that's because I really liked the characters. The two main characters, Torban and Allete were so cute and I just want them together and happy. Also, I absolutely loved the side chara...

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Firstly, be warned that this book is not a standalone. The happily ever after comes in a following book. This book was awesome. I love all of the characters, the sister relationship, the action, and the romance. And the villain, of course. Boy did I love to hate him. Seriously the vilest, cruelest villain I've come across in a good long time. There were a couple of things t...

3.5/5This book was a lot of fun once I got my head around it being a kind of AU Viking world with real magic. The story was entertaining and engaging, and I really liked both the narrators. The pacing was slow in places, and it really felt like there were two teams of good guys that needed to share information so they could actually make some progress, but still. My biggest problem with this book is one that I come across not infrequently: this bo...

A Viking story about conquer in England with a headstrong princess who is in need of abduction!I love the fact that there are always strong feisty heroines. And men that can handle them!! I’ve fallen in love with the conversations between them! Maybe it took a bit long in the castle and courtship without anything really happening besides Some funny conversation but I’m sure it was a necessairy build up for book 2! Can’t want

Heaven help me. Just when I think I can’t love Quinn Loftis more and can not fathom another genre she will be able to cover...she blew my world apart. This book is epic and beautiful and real and riveting and amazing and... Yes I’m gushing. And you will understand why as soon as you pick up this treasure. You will not be able to put it down until you finish it’s last page. Beautifully done, once again. I only want to throw a fit because I h...

Quinn Loftis strikes again! I know when she publishes a book I will be preoccupied. I love the way she weaves her stories. You KNOW there is a hidden player. You know their plot and yet you fall in love with her main characters. You fall so in love that when the bad guy strikes you are surprised but you shouldn't be because she handed you easter eggs. I look forward to the next two books. I look forward to rereading tjem in full succession next y...

First off, I love Quinn Loftis so I had pretty high hopes for this book. I was not disappointed at all. The combination of Vikings plus some romance was absolutely perfect. The romance wasn't over the top like alot of authors tend to do. It does end on a cliff hanger so I hope the next one will be out soon! loved this book!
  • Andrea Vickers
This is one gripping story! I absolutely loved it, it has a little something for everyone. The relationship between the characters is palpable and draws you in so you feel a genuine need for the right outcome for each of the characters. I laughed, I cried and I cannot wait for the next instalment of this series! A must read!

A Great book! Not my typical genre but I quickly found myself falling for and rooting for the 2 main characters! I loved watching their relationship evolve and the supporting characters made me laugh out loud at times!! The cliffhanger ending will leave you praying for a quick release of the second instalment!
  • Heather Watkins
Very goodIm not surprised I enjoyed this book. I pre-ordered it because I enjoy Quinn as an author and I was intrigued by this story. My only complaint is I wish she would release the series all at once because waiting for the second book will be very difficult. This will be one I re-read over and over. A well written story of romance that is sure to please.

I really fell in love with this book and did not want to stop reading. This love story was a riveting page turner of two people divided by countries, but united by love and magic. Quinn Loftis paints a beautiful picture of these characters backgrounds, personalized and devotion to their country. I look forward to reading more of this series.

A touching stpryI enjoyed reading this book. It offered a love story that is in spring in the face of horrific events. There is physical abuse in this book so be prepared before hand.
