I CHANGED THE STYLE OF MY REVIEWS. THIS IS MY FIRST DEAR FRIEND REVIEW AND I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS ON ITDear friend…As you know, today was my day off. And guess what? I just spent the entire day devouring Bodyguard by C.D. Reiss! The book was just dreamy! So, basically, we have Carter Kincaid, the bodyguard, and Emily, a choreographer for pop stars. And I know what you’re thinking right now: Carter is Emily’s bodyguard! Well, you...

4.5 Needing to Break Free Stars* * * * 1/2 Spoiler FreeOk, Stop Right There...Yes, it is hard not to breakout in song and sing the chorus of the Dolly Parton/ Whitney Houston theme...But Don't! This book is not your average Bodyguard deal. There are twists which start from the beginning and continue throughout. The main theme, in my mind, is not the obvious... There is more than the watching out for the "Target" and then getting involved with sai...

3.5 StarsBodyguard is a standalone and is part of the Hollywood A-List series. You can read the books out of order. I sort of enjoyed the first book. I did it on audio format so it was a different experience for me. I decided to give Bodyguard a go because it’s a single daddy book. I LOVE single parent books.Bodyguard wasn’t bad and it wasn’t good, it was just okay for me. I think it’s because I’m not too fond of C.D. Reiss’ writing s...

Emily and Darlene have been friends since they were in 3rd grade and have always had a shared love of dancing and singing. This is what led them to LA, where Darlene is now a very successful pop star. Emily is her choreographer but tends to shy away from the limelight after an awful relationship break up with a possessive guy who has now morphed into her crazy personal stalker.Darlene is about to go on tour so they are really busy preparing the f...

3.5 stars I was so happy to receive an ARC of this book and it was such a nice story that I thoroughly enjoyed. The bodyguard/ protector theme never gets old. And I always enjoy this kind of plot, despite being quite predictable at this point. I couldn’t say there were any big WTF moments here or storylines that surprised me, but it was a good story as a whole and left me with a pleasant feeling at the end.Emily was such a strong heroine, tryin...

3.5/5 starsBodyguard is book two in the Hollywood A-List series. However this book is a complete standalone. There is only one small mention of a character from book 1 (Bombshell). But it is completely not relevant to the story at all.Bodyguard is an adult contemporary romance. It is my first book by this author. The narrators are Emily and Carter (1st person POVs).Emily is a choreographer for her best friend mega-star Darlene. Carter works as a b...

Bodyguard (Hollywood A-List Book 2) by CD Reiss I haven't read many books by Reiss book and to be honest, the ones I have read, I didn't really feel anything more than mere like. That was until I absolutely devoured the two books in her Hollywood A-List series - Bombshell and Bodyguard. Both were fantastic and Bodyguard was just perfect. While I'm calling this a series, you can absolutely read the books independent of each other. Emily is choreog...

I recently was able to read the first book in this series and loved it, this book was just as fantastic. I wish I could give it more than the five stars that it is given. From the first page until the very end it kept me enthralled, I could not wait to find out what happened but when it was finished I wanted to read more. I love the connection between Carter and Emily, both have reasons to stay away from a relationship but both wanting each other...

Straight up truth, I was so worried throughout this book as to what was going to bring Emily's stalker problem to a head. I was anxious on what would happen to her, or Phin, and was right there with Carter. So a huge thanks that I didn't worry for nothing, and it made it almost all okay when it happenedWith that out of the way, I loved this book! I loved the characters, our leads Carter and Emily, his and her sides with Phin, Brenda, Darlene (fab...

The Bodyguard is the second standalone book in the Hollywood A-List series by CD Reiss. In this book, talk, dark and hulking Carter Kincaid finds him wanting to break one of his biggest rules- no personal relationships (hanky-panky) with his clients. It makes up the waters, throws off his focus, and is simply off limits. No problem...until he runs into professional choreographer, Emily. Emily, though not famous like her bestie, Darlene, has herse...

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.WARNING: DON'T PICK UP THIS BOOK UNLESS YOU HAVE TONS OF FREETIME.... I picked it up to read the first chapter before bed.... and read until I couldn't keep my eyes open only to wake up and get right back to reading. FABULOUSI absolutely LOVED this book. It was amazing. I loved the characters. I loved the push-pull thing they had going on. I loved the need for privacy at the ...

Book 2 in the Hollywood A-List series, and if possible it's even better than the first book. I absolutely adored Emily and Carter’s story, I mean truly adored it. Emily and her best friend Darlene met in school and became friends forever, both singing and dancing and wanting to make it big in Hollywood. Emily, sadly didn't make it as a superstar, not because of her lack of talent, but rather because of a possessive, abusive boyfriend. After end...

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest reviewBodyguard is the first book I’ve read by C.D. Reiss but it won’t be the last. The writing, at both the prose and plot levels, is simply amazing. If you’re looking for rich, deep characters, moving complex scenes, a storyline that builds until the very last page, and a rich read, C.D. Reiss is for you. I ended the book wondering where I could get all her titles and why on earth...

This book cracked my heart right open- sometimes with super mushy and sweet moments that just tugged at me, sometimes at epic turning points that made my eyes flood. Bodyguard is book two in the Hollywood-A-List series, but they are totally stand alones. For long time readers of CD's works, there are Easter egg tidbits of characters from other stories sprinkled here or there. What fun!Poor Emily has to live a life of fear and doubt, which doesn't...

This is a standalone but in the same world as Shuttergirl and Bombshell. I still haven't read Shuttergirl yet....it's on my TBR but I loved Bombshell! The Bodyguard is just as good with wonderful likeable characters. Although the bedroom scenes weren't as hot as Bombshell. It's a story about an abusive relationship that has turned into a stalker relationship. But it's also a story of Carter and his son and all the ways he is trying to right by hi...

If you haven't read a C.D. Reiss novel you're in for a treat. She puts smart and articulate characters in surprising settings, often in a vividly described L.A. I loved The Bombshell with its world of L.A. nannies, for example. Here she sets Carter and Emily in the entertainment world too, but on its fringes -- as choreographer and bodyguard. I thought that was a nice, intriguing shift from the typical and was sorry that it ended up back in a mor...

Bodyguard is a standalone and is part of the Hollywood A-List series AND is a single dad book, which I love! I was not disappointed and really enjoyed this book!Emily needs protection and Carter is the one assigned to her. Interesting, captivating, romantic and even heartwarming. Emily is an amazing choreographer to her best friend who is a super star. Every hot pop star needs a bodyguard but throw in Emily's crazy ex-boyfriend and even the choreographer needs one as well. Enter Carter Kincaid- hot, sexy and all business...when he tries. Emily and Carter develop and yoyo relationship. One moment he is pulling her close and then he is pushing her away. Carter has se...

Another amazing story in this series. Very well written and very strong characters. I love the cat and mouse chase whether it be between Carter and Emily or the bad guys. Loved Phin story was sad , yet explained his “fathers” roll. I can’t wait to see if the other guards get a story. This writing is amazing. I highly recommend this book and author.

Emily and Carter sure know how to heat up the dance floor. The undeniable lust and chemistry between these two is smoking. Who wouldn't want a super sexy hot bodyguard around all the time protecting you?Emily is enjoying him but wishes that she didn't need the protection. She wishes that she could go back to way it was. Before the cameras and bodyguard. These two help each other and realize they can have more.

While this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone and the reader will not lose anything. I enjoyed this book and found it to be a quick read. I liked the alternating view points and think it enhances the story to get each main characters perspective on the relationship. I think the author did a good job of incorporating a little bit of everything - romance, suspense, humor and plenty of steamy scenes. I liked Emily's ch...

Carter makes some juicy promises, “I promise to get my ***k deep inside you. I promise to hold you down when you come. Soon. I can’t take much more of this.” Carter doesn't hold things back, “you deserve to be heard, and the world deserves your talent.”My hand went up her skirt to the lace tops of her stockings. “And it might be fun. And it would turn me on.” I loved this book, I fell in love with Carter.
