"I'm going to beat you fifteen-zero." (Art by HamletMachine)We got 22 pages. Let me deconstruct what I can after reading consuming those 22 pages in around 22 seconds. It's fair to say that I am pretty much already sold on Nicholas and Seiji. ___________________ HI HELLO, PLEASE 'READ ME LOUD AND QUEER' The artwork is mouth-watering. I shit you not, Johanna the Mad has mad skills. The atmosphere that the artwork added in itself was beautiful eno...

I love this comics. In fact, I really really love this comics. Heck, I’d read anything C.S. Pacat writes. And here comes the “but”. 😁But the thing is, the comics is really really short. It’s merely a chapter. I don’t mind the price point given it’s Pacat’s work and the quality of the art is amazing. However, I really want more. Read this comics book in 10 mins and that .. that I was savoring. 😆This is only the introduction of...

Hello, if you aren't eagerly following this new series then you should be!!! The first issue of Fence introduces sixteen-year-old Nicholas Cox, a young athlete with hopes of making it in the cutthroat world of competitive fencing. He’s devoted to the sport despite his limited training, and when he finally enters his first competition he finds himself facing off against renowned prodigy Seiji Katayama. We’ve only been introduced to a handful of...

4 StarsHaving Pacat’s name attached to this made it an instant pre-order purchase for me. My hard copy (finally) arrived in the mail today and I immediately halted my regular activities to devour this first volume in quick order.Yes, it is super short, but I don’t really care; where Pacat is concerned, I’ll take what I can get, whenever I can get it. I’m already intrigued by the main characters, Nicholas and Seiji. They have a frenemies v...

UPDATE I liked it but it was too short. The art is amazing! However, it's difficult to talk about the plot since it's just the very beginning. I can't wait for the next volume and to meet all the characters. The ending was.... HAHAHA. ***********************************************Combat sport? Queer characters? C.S. Pacat? Angst?

Ohhh I really enjoyed this! This is super nice, what a tight little graphic novel. This comic has been getting a lot of attention on my twitter timeline lately, and I was interested because I uhhh, love sport romances. Fence is a sport graphic novel series about a boy called Nicholas who is beaten 15-0 in a fencing tournament by renowned champion Seiji and now he wants revenge. I believee it may also be an m/m enemies to lovers romance later down...

C.S. Pacat is my queen. Obviously, I'm totally biased. I think she can do no wrong because she's just SO TALENTED; she's so good at simplistically beautiful writing and well-developed characterization. I don't know how she writes characters that I end up caring about in such a short amount of time, but that was the case here (as was the case when I first started to read Captive Prince). She has the ability to develop a character in under 30 pages...

4/5 starsYESSSSSSSSSSSSSS. It feels so much like a sports anime it's uncanny.BUT WHY WAS IT SO SHORT?? I SWEAR I FINISHED IT IN 15 MINUTES LIKE WHYYYYYYYYYYYY. I NEED MORE!! To be fair, it is a comic, and I know they run differently from novels, but still, it was a tad disappointing that it was so short. I'm curious to know what will happen next! The art is beautiful, the characters are intriguing, and the storyline is just heating up! I can't wai...

3.5. This was something like all for the game/check, please! crossover but with fencing. I’m actually convinced that the mc’s real name is not Nicholas Cox at all but Neil Josten. His nemesis’ name is Seiji Katayama, I mean? Did you spell Riko Moriyama wrong or? Anyways, we’ll see where it goes.

Okayyy so where is my next copy because you can't leave me hanging there with just 27 pgs and that ending!! OMG I am already invested in the story. So glad that C.S Pacat is venturing into comics, and also having an interesting plot situated around fencing with it. The graphics is beautifully drawn. Love this heated tension and competition between Nicholas and Seiji already and I can't wait to read more of their interactionsXD!

Review also on my blog“I don’t care how good he is. I’m here to fence.”I forgot how frustrating it was to follow comics! Only a few pages, beautifully illustrated pages, and then you have to wait a whole month for more. Then the story repeats itself after a month; it’s a never-ending nightmare. We start by meeting Nick and Seiji, the two main characters. Nick is a hotheaded teen who has set his goal to be the best fencer after finding ou...

¡ME ENCANTA!

C.S. Pacat and Johanna the Mad teaming up for a comic on combat sport, rivalry, ambition, and a queer romance was the thing I didn't know I needed – until I read it. I don't usually read comics but since I'd loved Pacat's novels, I thought I'd give this a go. Fence was such a pleasant surprise!I wasn't sure whether I should rate this since this was only 22 pages and it's not a lot of material to judge (but now that I've read the second instalme...

This installment series  by C.S. Pacat is such an interesting concept that I couldn't stay away. A M/M comic series? Yes, please!!! I dove in head first and was finished in less than 30 minutes. Each installment is super short as we follow Nicholas and Seiji on their fencing journey.Installment 1 (4 Stars): This is where Nicholas and Seiji first meet. I was giddy after reading this just dreaming about the potential.Warning: My thoughts on the ot...
