Whispers from the Dead (The Veil Diaries, #4)

Hi, I’m Alexis Delaney. I’m your average 17-year-old girl. Except I can see the dead. And talk to the dead and help them move on. So… okay, I’m not your average 17-year-old girl. The Veil is still shut. Which means the dead can’t move on, not on their own. Through my Link to the Veil, I’ve been able to start helping souls to cross. The Veil is changing, healing. Like I am.Since I came home from the hospital, I’ve been hiding behind ...

This is when a time machine would come in handy. Jump a couple years in the future get all the books downloaded and then pop back to present time with the whole series. BOOM! Instant happiness 😁.

Is anyone else not surprised that this book is amazing? B. L. Brunnemer has done it again with this next installment in her Veil Diaries series. I absolutely adored the chapters with Rory and the guys’ point of views though I was disappointed that this book was waaaayyy shorter than the others. I guess all I have left to say is....when is the next book coming out??? Brunnemer’s made me an addict of her series and let me tell you this-I don’...

Reviewed by [email protected] Stars ReviewsLexi is working hard to getting souls to cross over while working on fixing the Veil. It is a slow processes, but it is working so far. That is until she starts to have issues and she starts keeping things from the guys. The guys are having issues as well, and she is still trying to get over a lot of things that happened in the previous book. She has a lot to do and a lot to get done, but she may be destr...

Whispers From The Dead is book 3.5/4. We pick up alittle time from where When to Fear The Living leaves off. Lexi has been trying to deal with the psychological effects of the attack. She is trying so hard to get her life back on track without fear. But with Zeke, Isaac, Miles, Ethan and Asher there to help guide her when ever they are needed, she is slowly getting her life back. She is also dealing with the dead. They are getting more pushy in t...

It was OKPlenty of PTSD, pouting, posturing and other lame behaviors with very little advancement of the story line. One kiss in murky circumstances not acknowledged by either party. The girl annoyed the heck out of me by being winy sissy without an iota of personal courage in terms of acknowledging her feelings. Lame.

Amazing 😉 What can I say.... it’s an awesome read. Awesome series and this continuation puts lots of thing to rest as well as brings in new material for potential new story lines. I can’t wait to see what the author goes with this. Can’t wait for Lexie to be with her guys all together :)

Gosh it just keeps getting better!!This series just keeps getting better! My only complaint? That I need to wait for the next book!!! I am not a patient person!! LOL! This series is the true definition of a slow burn Reverse Harem series! The author is so very talented, developing her characters over the course of the last few books, as opposed to throwing their nature at you too suddenly!! Alexis is an amazing protagonist and heroine! She's equa...

This book, Whispers From The Dead is just more. The Veil Diaries is just more. When is a hug more than a hug? When it's between the Tough guy and Baby. When is a kiss more than just a kiss? When it comes from any one of the guys. When is a dog more than just a dog? When it's Hades. When is a high school mean girl more than just a bit**? When it's Jessica (or Tara). See what I mean or should I go on? This book/this series is just more, it's everyt...

“Rule One of being friends with guys: don’t get caught drooling.”Well, that was entirely too short. I need a couple hundreds pages more. Or like another book. Yes, another book would be great. Unless it's also too short, then it won't do. In all seriousness, I loved it. I mean, how could I not? The story gets better and better with every new book and I don't think I'll ever get enough.I like that Lexie is finally starting to admit (at least...

I think I would have preferred to wait for a full book, rather than get a shorter one now. While still a nice read, this one fell short compared to previous books in the series.I do not want to demean what an assault victim feels, but in this case I would have preferred Lexie coping with the aftermath of an assault while solving mysteries of the Veil and not vice versa. It felt as if the author chose to leave the main thread of the series and foc...

B.L. Has done it againI don't even know where to begin with this review. I just finished this book less than 30 minutes ago and will be diving back in again for an immediate re-read. B.L. is truly EXCEPTIONAL at pulling you into her books and Whispers From The Dead was an amazing ride. I laughed, I cried, I cheered for an imaginary sports event for Pete's sake and I will most likely do it again next time too. If you're looking for a series that's...

I'm so frickin' confused! Is this book 3.5 or 4?! It was originally listed as 3.5 on Goodreads but then when it was released on Amazon they had it as book 4. However, when I started reading the book I immediately noticed it was shorter than previous installments so I finally concluded that it was just a really long novella. But then someone changed it on Goodreads to book 4! Face meet Palm.I figured okay, maybe this time it's just a shorter, but ...

I just finished whispers from the dead. N its just as amazing as the others. More POV from the guys, which I personally loved! Now I'm having a book hang over cuz I just want more of this story. Such an emotional read! We all knew that our girl would have to cross over Sophie, but all the build up and revelation left me sobbing. I felt that this instalment of The Veil Dairies was so much different than the previous, as it's not just Lexi and her feelings, we get to read about they guys and how things are for them too in a deeper level (or so I think) it's no longer just passing ghosts over but the emotional toll it's taking on Lexi and e...

I'm so happy to have been back in the world of Lexi and her guys. I missed them so much! This book was a little on the sadder side as Sophie is ready to cross and we have to tell Ethan and Issaic. Broke. My. Heart. I love how we got so many different POV in this one. We even got one from Rory. This book leaves me incredibly worried about one of our characters and I'm dying to know what's going to happen next. As always, yes this is a slow build. ...

One word, Damn!!!I can't wait for the next book in the series. It just keeps getting better each time. Lexie and the boys' bonds seems to getting more intense as time goes by. This book was mostly about gaining her confidence back and how she is growing in power. Also, we learn more about the twins sister, Sophie. Lexie's feelings are now starting to come back for the guys as well as including another one, which makes me want to jump up and down,...

I adore The Veil Diaries!! I love the fact that Lexie is still sarcastic , sassy and a smart mouth! You get to be along for the ride for Lexie's emotional growth and character development, throughout each book. If your a fan of real life slow build romantic feelings and characters coming into their own, then this is the series for you. None of the dreaded "insta-love" or "fated to be" just honest to goodness sweet and chaotic slow burn drama! Eag...

Just not up to par. While all the characters are present and a few more questions are answered. This long awaited book in this series is way too short! Even though some questions are answered, not enough to keep the book moving forward. The lead is hurting from the attack from the last book. She is struggling to keep her head above the veil. The main line in the book is the problems with the boys. There was a start with a new kind of spirit, but w...

It just keeps getting better! The fourth book shows such a vulnerable side to Lexie but you get to see her fight and struggle to get back to her old ass-kicking self. I don’t know that I have ever been so invested in a character’s emotions and thoughts before. By this book I feel like Lexie is a good friend I have known my whole life. When she hides her struggles from the guys it makes me want to slap some sense into her. And when she cracks s...

Another Win in the Veil Diaries Series! This is another great book in the Veil Diaries Series. It expands on the story of Lexie and her guys. I know BL doesn't consider this a full book but it's still a very fulfilling part of the series. I feel like there was some good resolution of a couple issues from the previous book. Even through their trials you can still see the growth of the relationship of Lexie and her guys. And every book you learn ne...

I am left breathless and speechless as always with this author's writing. I stumbled across her in one of my reverse harem groups asking for readers to try out her first book before being published. My life changed that day forward! I am so in love with the all the characters in this series and starving for more! Whispers from the dead made me chew my nails off, laugh, cry, and scream at some scenes. Best book ever!!I loved loved loved this book!!! Multiple questions were answered. We get POV's from all the guys! Squeal!!! Even Rory!!! Lexie is a loud, outspoken, red head that can see the dead. She is the only way for souls to cross over, but is it turning out to be too much? And a local witch knows so much more than she's willing to share, even with Lexie's life in the line. The only thing I could ask for us book 5, now!!!! If you haven't re...
