Damn, I don't really care about Alaric...give me Theron and pizza girl

I received a review copy of Trick from Scarlett Dawn. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Most unattractive cover art in this series. Just Ewww!Alaric met his mate at his front door nothing happened the end

I actually really like the MC's in this story but I wish there more scenes with them. I feel like I didn't really get to know Faith or Alaric which is a shame as they're such cool and fun characters. And while I appreciated the lighter tone of the plot (versus the previous books), I couldn't help but feel like this book's story was a filler until we get to Theron & Pizza Girl and eventually (view spoiler)[Cass & Poppy (hide spoiler)]. Still, this...

Trick by the incredible talented author Scarlett Dawn is the fourth book in the Origin Series.Trick is not a standalone and I highly recommend to read the books in order. Book one, Trigger tells Poppy and Godrics story; book two, Transcend is Mina and Finns book; book three, Torment is Megan and Runes story.Trick picks up where Torment left off. Mr. Valentine is back and more devious than ever. He picks a young woman and shoves her into the path ...

Trick is the 4th in the series of ‘The Origin’ Shifter Romance by Scarlett Dawn. Trick is based on Faith Peyton and Alaric Woods. Faith is nearing her birthday of 25 and by law she has to marry if she doesn’t join the Corporate Army, so she voluntarily chooses to go through the marriage match and by luck straight away she gets bids hitting through the roof and and then selected by the highest bidder. She is then given 24 hours to meet her n...

I love this series!!!So much humor! I laughed so hard there were tears running down my face! After the heartbreaking events in the previous books this was like a breath of fresh air. The female characters just keep getting better and better. Each heroine is my favorite until I read the next and then she becomes my favorite. While there is progress in the overlying story arc, the way this book unfolds makes you realize that life goes on and you sh...

It was a little saddening to know that there's nothing much for faith and alaric plot-wise. It felt like they were some kind of a side story to Poppy-Cass/Theron-pizza delivery girl. Like they were ripped off of their own book. Shame, too, this one. Faith was the most interesting heroine from this series. At least in my opinion. She's cool and witty and well-rounded. She's not in-your-face strong/badass. But she's not meek/fragile either. I think...

Origin #4I absolutely love it😍😍😍😍💙💙💙💕💕💕!!!! I've been waiting patiently for this book and I want disappointed. A trick brought them together but love will keep them there. A couple twists I want expecting God's death was the jumping point for many relationships. Now we know more about who is fated to be mates and I Cabot wait to read the next book. Waiting impatiently for #5

Sappy but Series is progressingWith each book, Ms Dawn is focusing less and less on the romance and more on the story line. It's enough romance for true romance lovers and still provides the story plot to move the series along.I appreciated how she didn't spend time rehashing the back story. So I advise readers to read the series from the beginning. I liked Faith in this book. I like how all the female characters are strong in their own way.I did...

Must read!Another one bites the dust! This is Alaric and Faith's story and I love them as a couple. You get to see a softer side of Alaric and Faith, his mate, is one tough cookie. More secrets are revealed about the overall plot and I can't wait for the next one in the series. Scarlett Dawn's books are always a must read and this one didn't disappoint.

Trick by Scarlett Dawn is the fourth novel in the Origin series, and as we have hit the halfway mark of on Origin, it has the most reveals and surprises for fans of the series.Faith Peyton is a brand new character to Origin and I love her! She’s a straightforward, what you see is what you get kind of girl. And it’s a breath of fresh air to have a character like that. An orphan with little memory of her childhood or her own origins, Faith work...

I swear, these books become shorter and shorter with every new one out. Trick was still interesting and rather amusing, but felt really rushed. I would have liked to spent more time with the characters and maybe get to know them a little. At least we're getting (somewhat) closer to the truth. We now know the identity of the mysterious 'Mr. Valentine', but I still don't understand the reasoning behind his actions. I want to see how it's all connec...

Faith and Alaric book 4This book was definitely a lighter read then the last 2 had been. I felt like there was and wasn't any progress with the story line at the same time. I gave this book 3.5 *** stars because the female and male lead were hysterical. They met each other by accident, and yet no accident at all. Many things are brought to light about the main villain of the series in this book, and yet we're still hanging to the edge of our seat...

Because I like you, I'm going to give you some advice.  Please read the previous books in this series.  I think that there is some serious world building and important story arcs which have their set-ups in books 1 - 3 which (in part at least) feed into and play out in this book. With that proviso in mind, on the whole, I enjoyed the relationship between Faith and Alaric.  Of course, there is the usual insta love/lust that one often encounters ...

Tone lightens a bit in this fun fast read with answers! This was a great short read. After some of the heaviness of Torment, Trick was a breath of fresh air. I loved Faith and Alaric and laughed many times during this book. Even better, we start getting some very concrete answers to who Mr Valentine is and what he may be trying to accomplish thought maybe not the whys. It could be because this was originally intended to be a 5 book series and is n...

Kind of let down First let me say, I am a huge fan of Mrs. Dawn. I usually love everything she writes. But, I was kind of let down with this one. I could not find the chemistry between Faith and Alaric. I felt like it was a little cheesy and forced. Now I did like all of the revelations and secrets that were revealed in this book. But the 2 main characters, not so much. She had a tough follow up from the last book though. Rune and Megan's chemist...

Wasn't my favorite of the seriesI can appreciate that she rushed through the 4th explanation of shifters but it all seemed too fast paced. I mean she was fully invested from page 10. I saw the Poppy part coming but nothing really came of it, wondering how long we'll have to wait. I feel like this was just a story to come out with who they're fighting, like she just had someone say it vs them figuring it out. Wasn't my favorite of the series but I...

MmmmehThis book was okay for me faith didn’t really intrigue me, I felt like this was a fluffer piece. I also don’t think Alaric and faith are going to make it for some reason I think faith may be Jason aka Mr Valentine’s mate. Just some hidden cues throughout the book made me believe that Faith may end up with Jason. On the plus I can’t wait for Theron and Pizza girls book (does she even have a name?) Lastly I still miss Godric I truly m...

Faith is tough, but as a sea fisherman she has to be. Alaric is surprisingly romantic. This was a good story for the two of them, however I do caution, it would be help to read the other stories in the series first. I had only read the first book in the series, so I missed a lot of information and the author does not recap, so I was left guessing at several things. Overall, it was still a great book and left me craving more. I volunteered to read...

I’d read the rest of this series and loved it but this one sort of disappointed me. It felt too quickly written. I was devastated when God died and has always been secretly hoping that something would happen for Poppy. Now she’s going to be with Cassandra? Nope don’t like that at all. I liked the storyline but it was just too quick and jumped what should have been a longer story.

Trick...Superb reading in every aspect. Super fantastic dialogue that enthralled me to read more and don't stop. Awesome freaking characters with plenty of oh hell yes moments. Trick is Alaric's story where his situation of his mate finding him after the death of one of his best friend. This book is action packed, dramatic and passionate.

This story has such good potential! The first book in the series was great. I would easily give it 4 stars. However all the rest have been disappointments. It feels like the author knows the ending and is trying to get there as fast as possible. By doing this the reader is missing out on all of the depth of the supporting characters. That being said I am vested and will read to the end...

This one felt rushedThe previous books in the series really intrigued me, but I could barely get through this one. It felt disjointed, like the author rushed to publish it. Events moved from one thing to another with no easy transitions. The dialog was also the same way. I hope the next book in the series is smoother.

Yes! Yes! Yes!The banter and chemistry between characters is always amazing. The world she has created pulls you into it and always leaves you wanting more! I love that we now know who our bad guy is, it actually makesnthings more interesting. I can't wait to see what could be next for our group!

Love it!As always, Dawn brings an amazing story with a wonderful web of characters that are both fierce and romantic. Steamy would be an understatement. I would recommend this to those who enjoy romance, paranormal or not. As well as those who enjoy urban fantasy as a whole. It does not disappoint.

ExcellentThis series is so fun to read. The story is well written a real page turner. The characters are funny, interesting the banter is the best part of the story. The series keeps you on the edge of your seat with a rollercoaster of emotions.
