Macy had always loved the sea until the day it stole her sister and she vowed to remain firmly planted in the earth. When the good intentions of a friend causes her to be on the water again, her worst nightmare will come to pass. She felt the rush of the icy water, the need to give up and knew that the sea would claim her and everything went dark. Macy never expected to awaken again, let alone to find her rescuer to be anything but human.Jax is a...

While I really enjoyed this book and look forward to future books in this new series I do have some concerns.Let me start with the basic story, I loved it, a race of beings that were genetically engineered by ancient colonists, to be slaves are living fairly peacefully generations (centuries?) later after overthrowing their human masters makes this an almost automatic "I love that plot".Jax upsets the balance of the human/kraken who are both livi...

Fabulous read by Tiffany Roberts! Imagine getting rescued from certain death by a sexy as sin sea creature with tentacles. Macy is a nice young woman plagued with guilt for a childhood mistake which led to the death of her sister. Convinced she must do penance, she devotes her life to the good of others and trying to please her parents at the cost of her own happiness. When she meets Jax, her world is turned upside down and she's forced to face h...

So to be honest, I did not expect to like this book as much as I did.A human falling in love with a octopus man? That just isn't right! But man was I wrong! So wrong.Macy has lived her life on land, never straying to the sea after that fateful day.Her sister had been claimed by the sea, and Macy had almost been as well. She vowed to be better and no longer wander to the waters. However, things change when she decides to make her joining with Camrin pe...

A Gripping Tale!Prepare to be gripped, and I don’t just mean by Jax’s tentacles as Tiffany Roberts transports us to a fantastic new planet and a unique romance in Treasure of the Abyss. Human Macy fears the sea, though she once loved it. When deep in its depths she encounters the “alien” kraken Jax, an octopoid-humanoid creature. Her horror prompts irrational reactions and deadly actions. Jax the Wanderer is equal parts confused and compe...

This is fantastically written! The wonder and terror of first contact slowly grows into friendship and then attraction leads to more. I was riveted by the blossoming relationship and captivated by the world building. This has all the highs and lows of a relationship with some steam. The supporting characters are sparse but I care enough to hope they get their own happy endings.Read in KUMature content

New book from this fantastic fantasy romance writer duo...hopefully as the name suggests first in series! In a futuristic time on a faraway planet resides a human colony ‘the watch’ . Everyone has their role, Macy’s is a Gardner and provides for the watch, working alongside many others to keep the colony thriving. She feels the obligations of her life in the hardest way, from the loss of a most beloved love one and the guilt to be the prefec...

Macy grew up in a stifling environment where everything that is safe and predictable is good. She longed for adventures but had resigned to her fate, until one day, she met with an accident and was saved by a humanoid octopus (aka Kraken), Jax. After overcoming their initial distrust of each other, Macy learnt that Jax and his kind were results of cruel human experiments. Thus the Kraken, after overthrowing their captors, kept their existence a s...

Oh my. I didn't expect to like this book but at the end of it, I didn't want to leave the world building that Tiffany Roberts created. One of the pitfalls for writing the first book of any series is the tendency of the author to cramp everything, so much so that it left the readers feeling overwhelmed. I didn't feel any of that sort when reading this book. Jax is a crossed between a human male and an octopus .. yes, with tentacles! Does it make f...

Another amazing read from this dynamic duo known of Tiffany and Robert Freund a.k.a Tiffany Roberts. This story was a captivating romance between a human woman named Macy falling in love with a Kraken (or Cecalelia) Wanderer known as Jax and him in return taking her as his mate. This is yet another beautiful story of love knowing no bounds that I believe this duo captures in their books brilliantly in both writing style and description in settin...

This one surprised me! I like some good alien romance/smut, but one threw me for a loop. One, it didn’t have an otherworldly feel to it, it felt like this could have been happening here on earth. Two, where I have read some books with some kind of crazy aliens this would be the first book where I felt a little creeped out by the alien sex, which I say bravo to, since I feel that’s a little hard to do. Macy the gardener and Jax the wanderer we...

3.5 - 4.0I have several Tiffany Roberts' books but this is the first time I've read one. This was a KU and a bit different from my usual read. Macy is a descendant of colonists from Earth. While on a boat trip with a betrothed she doesn't want a storm wave throws her overboard and she is rescued by Jax, half human half octopus. His people, the octopods were genetically engineered by the original colonists to mine the ocean floor. At some point th...

Beautiful Start for a New Series What a way to start a new series with a beautiful love story? Its a story about a love between two different species and holds your attention from beginning to end? There's action, fear, and steamy hot romance with awesome characters? Highly recommended and keep them coming.

Macy and Jax are two of a kind. Both characters not comfortable with where life has put them. For Macy, it is because she does not really want to marry Camrin, the man that she has known all her life. This is despite the fact that everyone thinks she will marry him. Macy does not have the heart to hurt Camrin and has resigned her self to her fate.Jax is uncomfortable because he is not a homebody, like the rest of the kraken. While they like to han...

What a delightful read. I went into this one a little skeptical and I am glad I read this. What I really enjoyed about this book is that the differences between the human h and the non human H were really obvious but the author explained in a believable way on how they were able to mate. This is a unique paranormal story that is very interesting.

Loved it! I can't wait for the next book. So excited!

4.5 stars - great romance book! I thought Macy was lovely and Jax was a great character. Neither of them really fit in with their cultures but fit with each other instead. The story was very original and I really had no clue how the two would work out being part of one another's lives and resolve issues like being free to choose one another, etc.I think I know who the next book will be about - at least I hope I do and can't wait to read it!

This is another wonderful read from this husband and wife writing team. It's a wonderfully unusual romance. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Wow, it's been a while since I have written a review (busy life, you know) so sorry if this is all over the place. Lets do this!I do like Tiffany Roberts books. I haven't read many of them, but as a new author to me I haven't found one I hated there's that. Also, might be a little spilery-ish, I never really know until I start the review.Macy:Macy was a great lead female. I wasn't annoyed or pissed at her decisions and I didn't want to ...

Pleasantly surprised I started reading this as a joke. Tentacles?? Jokes on me, this is now one of my favorite Books. I’ve already downloaded the rest of the books by this author duo. Don’t let the description put you off. This was a very well thought out and written love story. The characters were believable and the story line one of the most unique I’ve ever read. The growth of the characters attraction takes place over a decent amount of...

An unusual tale of loveI think by now I've read almost every genre out there. This was an unusual mashup of little mermaid (although more Ursula by appearance lol) with a sci-fi twist. On this world humans colonized the land. Upon discovering a powerful energy source beneath the oceans humans created a new species to mine this source. A rebellion ensued, because humans forgot their own history: no intelligent being likes being a slave. Hundreds o...

Definitely an interesting story that has me looking forward to the next book. While the theme (alien-type romance) may not be a new one, these characters and this world were very engaging and unique. I did have a little trouble picturing the kraken in my head, but this was not the author's fault as she gave a thorough description. But my mind kept trying to put legs on them when in fact they had no lower body if I read things right. The love felt...

Definitely Interesting, and Definitely DifferentSome attention grabbing errors were present, though not abundant, took away from the story flow. I felt the differences between Jax and Macy were too quickly overcome, and I felt it had a bit of Stockholm Syndrome engraved in there. The book could have become much greater than it is by simply expanding on the history, the conflict and prejudice between the two races, and of course the former love in...

I was pleasantly enthralled with this book. After a kinda slow start, things started to pick up. When we first meet Jax, I was thoroughly creeped out. The way the author described him was truly masterful - I felt as though I was Macy, watching this creature come toward me. I loved Jax's character, even if his tentacles took me a bit to get used to. The world that was created and the characters that lived in it were amazing. I can't say enough goo...

Enjoyed this book! Can see the benefit of the collaboration. Male and famale responses to different situations are definitely unique, what they have createc is a story both sexes can enjoy. Take how we women sometimes just nod our head at our male then do what we want regardless. The location being in an alien ocean is another great attraction as we have barely scratched the surface in the immense surprises awaiting us in our own oceans, if we don...
