Buddy read with the Reverse Harem Revolution group. What a nice surprise this was! Nora is a loner living in Detroit with psychic abilities. She has been a repeated victim of sexual abuse during her time in and out of foster families. Now, she lives alone, and steers clear of all men and even friends. It's safer that way, especially with her gift that allows her to read people's thoughts when she touches them.Nora is drawn into the underworld when...

In a Rush for the Next BookThis was a great read if a little slow in places. The characters are all likable and the personalities are a good fit. I suppose this could squeeze into the urban fiction genre and, so far in the story, I can not see why the reverse harem category. There is no sex in here and no hint of hot and steamy any time soon although she has a number of interested romance possibilities. The novel could pass for YA or NA.This is a...

This book could have been it. It could have been my favorite book of the year but it just wasn't quite there.Don't get me wrong, there were some really cool elements to it. I mean, who writes about trolls these days? And not evil trolls but really cool trolls with big personalities. However, the thing where all men are obsessed with this one girl and her blood smells good and all that shit is just too much like Twilight and y'all know how I feel a...

Great Story, But Reverse Harem? The thing is reverse harem is my personal book addiction and while this story presents a lot of male characters reverse harem, slow burn or not it really doesn't fit the bill. Okay I get that slow burn reverse harem doesn't jump right into sex, but some of the set up between the male characters and Nora, there's just no transitioning that to an acceptable relationship. Henry, the vampire clan leader kidnapped her, t...

3.5 stars will definitely read book 2. I really enjoyed this story but this isn’t a RH not sure why it’s listed as such. I’d say this is UF if asked.

This was a solid start to this series.I liked Nora a lot, although I am getting a little tired of reading about the heroine being abused as a child or having a traumatic childhood.I am curious about her supernatural background. I am intrigued to see where this story is going. Definitely looking forward to book two.

KU 4.5This was a great read if a little slow in places. The characters are all likable and the personalities are a good fit. I suppose this could squeeze into the urban fiction genre and, so far in the story, I can not see why the reverse harem category comes from. There is no sex in here and no hint of hot and steamy any time soon. The novel could pass for YA or NA.This is another one of those series where the ardent reader is left trying to gai...

I received a free copy of this book through Netgalley and voluntarily reviewed it.Ever since I first heard of this book I knew I wanted to read it and was eagerly awaiting the release day. When I saw it pop up on Netgalley I didn't hesitate and hit that request button as fast as possible. I really enjoyed this book. It's a great urban fantasy read and is marketed as having a slow burn reverse harem. I love a good slow burn romance! There is very ...

Wow - what a ride! The first book in a series that is a fast paced adventure, with so many great characters, particularly the h. She is an awesome h - one of my favourites. She seems human, and her life has been hard, lots of men have abused her badly,. She lives life carefully, with rules and limits to avoid men. When she's kidnapped, and hurt again by men, she knows how to save herself. The guys are a mix of vamps, trolls, wolves, wizards, but ...

I LOVED this book! And now I am seriously hoping that this debut author (author team) doesn't take ages to release the sequel. (Edit: May 2018 is posted, so I hope they stick with it)I enjoyed it so much that it never made it to either my TBR or Currently Reading shelves. I picked it up on KU in the late evening and was so sucked in I stayed up most of the night, devouring it. I enjoyed it so much that, as soon as I finished, I went and bought it...

What a great book! This book had me from the beginning. Nora is a great character! I enjoyed this book so much I can't wait for the next one. All the character in this book were surprising and unique, I think that made me like this book even more. What a great book! *This book was given to me for free at my request to Netgalley and I provided this voluntary review.*

ARC/e-book/Fantasy: For me to like a paranormal book means a lot because I have read so many, I see other's ideas in most characters and plots. This book just came out so no spoilers here. I would like to thank NetGalley for a copy in lieu of an honest review. If you want a summary of the plot, read the one offered on the web. I read it and chose this book because it sounded interesting. The beginning of the book is hard to read as a predator, wh...

----RHR Buddy Read----This was a surprise! I wasn't expecting to like this. In fact, at the very beginning I was rolling my eyes thinking, "here we go again the abused foster girl reverse harem trope". BUT! They are making it work here, it actually makes some sense. The romance is slow burn. It's sort of fun to try and guess who will be part of the harem and who will be friend-zoned. The story is full of little mysteries like this. Like, who is s...

Nora's life has been anything but charmed, in fact, she feels as if she is cursed. At age 6 she lost her mother in a brutal vampire attack; placed in the foster system she has been used and abused since she was 7. Now as an adult she lives alone in a bad Detroit neighborhood. It's a lonely existence since she tries to attract as little attention as possible. She has a few unusual 'gifts' that make it hard for her to be around other people. She pi...

This was a really strong book. Let me start by saying, normally warnings like this book had would put me off. I am a sexual assault survivor, and when you read a warning that a book contains or alludes to that, you don't always know in what context it appears. So I tend to be wary. But, I checked out the sample, and after I finished it, I kept thinking about it. I'd be working on something else, and my mind would keep returning to this book and w...

Fun, different, worth reading.I actually loved this book..something different but new, with friends instead of the main person falling in love. Also love the different personalities each person had. Loved nora and how she was to herself at first but than became quirky and fun. Worth the read and looking forward to the next book.

What can I say about this book? There’s just so many feelings I have for these characters, so much plot and twists. I love it!!! I love the story, and the characters friendships. And how she is with everybody, I loved it. I love this book, I cannot wait till the second one comes out!!!

Wow! So what a great start to a brand new series. I really, really loved and enjoyed this book. It is dark though as the MC, Nora, has previously gone through a lot and still has to fight through a lot more dark things too. This book is a RH and it's very much a slow burn, which is just what the story needs to not be rushed and to stay true to Nora, you'll understand why once you read it. I'm also not sure who will be in her harem, but I've been ...

Well, if nothing else, this shit was interesting. I generally like the idea of the mundane world toying the line of the supernatural world and here it was also very well written. I enjoyed reading about different types of the supernatural species and also trying to figure out the species of the ones that were not outright identified. The characters were all fascinating in their own way, but I especially loved our main heroine. Nora has the worst ...

Please rush me into the next book, because I really really really need to find out what the supernatural world has next for Nora. This book was good--not over the top amazing, like I'd originally thought in the first few chapters--but still a very enjoyable read. It had me laughing out loud at some of Nora's wit and dry humor, which are two things I love about our main character. [WARNING! Possible spoilers ahead, so don't read if you don't wanna...

Trigger warnings: multiple descriptions and recountings of sexual assault, plus the equivalent of mental rape. Also, while I try to be spoiler free as possible, there are certain scenes and characters I need to discuss, so there will be some spoilers in this review. The blurb warns that this is a “reverse harem” romance, which I took as multiple men falling for one woman, though I’m not sure that’s the correct definition. It’s apparently ...

“On the cheek,” I demand. “And that is it. Nothing else. You try anything funny, and I’ll sic my troll on you.”There was a lot I liked about ‘Don’t Rush Me’ and it helped that one of those things was Nora Jacobs (our main character). Quick, smart and bad ass are words that come to mind. She gets kidnapped and held hostage by a ‘handsome’ vampire early on in the story but under no circumstances does she take any shit from him an...

100% Recommended!I keep finding books that sound really good in the description, get me all exited, and then turn out to be severely disappointing. They are really good ideas but the writing just isn't enough to retain my interest. I need endearing characters who grow throughout the story, witty banter, action that is actually exiting, or at the very least a plot not solely based on romantic explorations. I want a story that's imaginative but not...

It is hard to find a new take on urban fantasy, and very easy to make some cliche story. While Don't Rush Me builds off a lot of familiar elements in urban fantasy, it also brings in its own. For one, the main character is a human. Although, she is not quite human and her unique gifts have her thrown into a middle of a missing persons investigation. Nora entered foster care when she was seven. Her natural ability to attract males made her a targe...
