This is Book 5 in the Max Revere series but can be read as a stand alone. In my opinion, the best book so far. This is a fantastic book. I have been a fan of this Author for many years. Maxine Revere is an investigative reporter in New York with a cable tv show. She investigates cold cases. Her mother left her with her grandparents when she was 9 years old. Maxine received postcards from her mother usually around her birthday. They stopped coming...

Short Take: Wake me when something happens.(*Note: I received a free copy of this book for review purposes.*)Can we please retire the word “unputdownable?” Please? I mean, it was cute enough the first fifty or so times I heard it, but now it’s a word that gets slapped on far too many books that I’m more than happy to put down. It’s right up there with “The Next Gone Girl!” in terms of false advertising. Take, for example, Abandoned....

I devoured this book in one quick sitting. It is the perfect blend of mystery, suspense, and police procedural with just a touch of romance. The plot is well thought-out with lots of unexpected twists and turns. It does get a little bit predictable at times, but it was still fun to see how it all played out. You will not want to put this book down! The characters are all well-developed with interesting and multi-layered personalities. Maxine Rever...

As an adult many years later the only clu...

Many thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.Suspense, suspense, and more suspense! Until I read other reviews I did not realize this book was part of a previous series. I read it as a stand alone story and really enjoyed it. The characters were introduced at a nice pace, not too rushed and not to slow as the story developed into a gripping plot. The plot was well thought out by the auth...

AbandonedAllison BrennanI received this copy from NetGalley for an honest Review:What happens when we are abandoned by the one person who is supposed to keep us safe? This issue and many others regarding abandonment are explored in this novel. Add in a mystery, some art thieves, likable characters and some not so likable and you have a really good story.I really liked Max, and cheered her on as she tried to find out what happened to her mother af...

I am a reader and I either devour a book in one quick sitting or I give up halfway through the book. This is one of the “can’t put down” books. How would you feel if your mother had abandoned you with your grandparents and aside from a few postcards had never been heard from again? Max Revere has a cable TV program where she investigates cold cases and she has decided to investigate her mother’s disappearance when she was sixteen. She goes ...

“Abandoned” is Allison Brennan’s latest suspenseful thriller and she manages to keep readers on their toes until the very end. Maxine Revere was abandoned by her mother when she was young because she did not fit into her wild lifestyle. Max grew up under her grandmother’s watchful eye and became a successful author and investigative reporter. Maxine’s greatest mystery that she is dedicated to solving surrounds the disappearance of her w...

Abandoned answers many of Max’s questions while setting her life on a new path, thanks to a surprise find. This book was centered on Max’s history and not on a cold case for her program. Ready for the next one.

This book ripped my heart out and shredded it. It gave me a massive book hangover. There are definite plot twists. Allison Brennan was able to illicit a lot of emotion from me. I was sad, angry and devistated all at one time. It takes a great author to wring such feeling from their readers. I received an advance review copy in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley.

If you're a fan of this series and have kept up with it you will know as you read this book that it might just be the most important book for Max.She's taken time off work to find her mother, or at least what happened to her, and she will not air until she does. Well that's not all Max finds!Grab some tissues your gonna need them at some point in this book. This is my favorite book so far in this series and that's saying something because I like ...

*i recieved an e arc from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I normally love Allison Brennan’s stories and immediately get hooked. This one however, I had a hard time connecting with. I felt it focused a lot on the past which I understand why, but something was keeping me from falling in love with the story.
