This book is just not my cup of hot chocolate. Mindy is a 17 year old skiing phenomenon when she breaks her leg during a downhill run. As a result of pre-surgery blood testing, Mindy and her parents discover that she has leukemia and ultimately are told that Mindy's mother is not her biological parent. GASP!!! I figured out without a doubt who Mindy's mother was on page 85 of 489 so that made it a long and tedious read for me. By the time the "ho...

JT Ellison weaves a flawless integration that kept me wanting to know more the entire time! Down to the very last page, I was on the edge of my seat questioning what would happen next!Thank you to Harlequin for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Phew. What A Book! This was truly unputdownable. I started it at 9.30pm and kept at it till 4am. Had to stop because I had work to get to in the morning and I couldn’t wait to finish it. If you are a thriller reader then you will probably figure out some of the plot early on. But it doesn’t matter. Not one bit. This book is not a whodunnit. It’s not about who, it’s about why and how. The emotions in this book are phenomenal. Everything is...

3.5 stars.I got off to a bad start with this one. Nothing really clicked for me through the first half of the novel. Mindy seemed unrealistic. I felt like she was one dimensional. I mean she learns she has cancer and before any treatment options are discussed there she is cutting off all her hair. It just didn't work for me. Juliet was way too cliche and I couldn't quite understand the point of Jasper. The second half was much more enjoyable. The ...

Things I didn’t do because I could not put Tear Me Apart down tonight until I finished it: put away three loads of laundry, wash my well beyond in need of washing hair, go to Target, pack for a four day weekend, clear off the dining room table, write up a contract, go to bed when I should have - most of which now need to be done in a very short window of time after work tomorrow but it was worth it. It sucked me in that much. Thanks to Netgalle...

Mindy is a competitive skier hoping to go to the Olympics. She has a devastating accident on a ski run. While being treated they discover she has cancer. I don’t want to say much more about this book because it will give away too much of the plot. There are lots of secrets and twists in this story. There are some characters that aren’t very likeable. I guessed part of the story but not all of it. Once it gets started it moves at a fast pace. ...

I received this book from Goodreads giveaway, and it's the first book I've read by J.T. Ellison. And I loved it! Secrets, lies, deceit, murders, this book has it all. And caught in the midst of all of it, an innocent girl who seem to have had the perfect life. A life built on so many secrets and lies, as it turns out. Filled with page-turning twists and surprises, "Tear Me Apart" will keep you reading until the very end.

really enjoyed this book, although it did take me a little long to connect with the Mindy it all came together for me in the end. J.T. Ellison has a way with words that makes her books compelling which is why she is one of my favorite authors. I anxiously await what comes next.

What a page turner! I loved this book! I predicted the twist early on. However, that did not ruin the book for me as the last 30% had my jaw on the floor!! I was not expecting that ending at all. Mindy is an amazing skier! She is in line to be on the Olympic team up until she suffers a terrible crash. During surgery, her doctor discovers she has leukemia and is in desperate need of a stem cell transplant. However, when her parents are tested to s...

Thank you to Netgalley & MIRA for the ARC! I’m almost at a loss for words to sum up a review. Initially, I was thrilled to receive this from one of my must read authors, without even reading the description. Once I realized it was about a girl with cancer, I was thinking to myself, “Nope, not going to do it. Can’t do it.” Cancer is one of the “can’t handle” topics for me. As an empath, I can insert myself into the mindset all too ea...

4.5 Lots of twists in this one, so many secrets! I plowed through this story because I was dying to see how it unfolded. It didn’t disappoint! The characters were great! Crazy details about some of them come out right until the ending! Reading about the work behind being, and also raising, an elite athlete was very interesting. It’s hard to talk about the story without giving away anything so I’ll end by saying that the ending was strangely ...

How far would you go to help a friend, how far would you go to save your child, how far would you go to save your family. These are the questions JT Ellison explores in this fascinating tale of love and obsession. She expertly leads us to the stunning conclusion by expertly using multiple points of view and time, and letters between two young women.Mindy Wright is a champion skier headed to the Olympics when a crash and subsequent cancer diagnose...

I LOVED this one. Mindy isn't your average 17 year old. She is training to be on the US Olympic ski team and everything is going great until she has an accident and breaks her leg. During her hospitalization and surgery, Mindy and her parents, Lauren & Jasper, receive more bad news. Mindy has an aggressive form of leukemia. Chemo isn't working, she needs stem cell. Neither of her parents are a match, nor is her aunt Juliet. Their lives as they kn...

J.T. Ellison has written a lot of good books, but this twisty psychological/domestic/medical mystery-thriller is probably her best yet. The characters, whether likable or not, are all interesting, realistic people (plus there's a lovable dog), there are numerous secrets to be uncovered, and the conclusion is quite a shock. I did have a general idea where the story was going, but the author's excellent writing and storytelling made the book almost...

This might be J.T. Ellison's best book yet! Deserves more than 5 stars. This is a story about a 17 year old girl, Mindy, who lives for skiing and aims to be on the Olympic team. After a bad crash on the slopes, it is discovered she has leukaemia. She needs a cell stem transplant but neither of her parents are a match. Neither mother nor father is a biological parent. Lots of twists and turns but a book you won't want to put down. Another one hit ...

I am thinking about what to say about this book. It was easy to "figure out", yes, but it was still written in the way that the book pages kept turning frantically and I couldn't stop reading it. The comments by the author at the end of the book said that she changed the voice of the book during her writing process and I really do think that's what made the book un-put-down-able.

Tear Me Apart is a great psychological thriller that kept my attention so that I didn't want to put the book down! The book goes from the present to seventeen years earlier, with so many surprise twists and turns that you are guaranteed not to be bored! I absolutely loved the ending, it was perfect!

Interesting and engaging story. I liked the characters. The plot was mostly believable although a few instances required a willingness to suspend belief. A few twists and turns and a relatively satisfying conclusion. Thanks to NetGalley for a chance to read and review this book.
