I loved this book. I really didn't want to stop reading it except for the one part where the parents of Nell ticked me off that they would not BOTH go to her wedding because they could not exist in the same air. Oh my goodness, that just made me extremely angry. I loved Felicity and Nell; Felicity being the main protagonist, but Nell right there with her with a great story line. It was fun getting to know these two and then the Nell trying to fig...

***#earc thanks to #netgalley, @stmartinsgriffin and @anitahughes in exchange for a fair review***This one was kind of a hot mess, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable read! The best thing about this book is it had good bones and a talented writer parlaying that into a cozy read. But, technically speaking, I think it tried to cover too much ground. Following three different story lines, a Christmas wish, an awkward, repetitive bit about fairy tales ...

What I liked about this book is the way the author wrote about St. Moritz. She had me googling pictures and planning my vacation there. Unfortunately what I did not like about the story is pretty much everything else. Immature characters with ridiculous problems they whined about relentlessly until I want to shake them, pointless flashbacks, some really bad love scenes and an ending for one of the characters that made me shake my head and wonder ...

    * I am changing my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars because I am still thinking about this book a month later. I am someone who lives for summer but this book makes the idea of a ski lodge at Christmastime seem like a wonderful idea. Thanks for making the idea of winter more appealing for me.*I got to read an early copy of this book through Netgalley, which meant that I read this wintertime book in the summer. I am someone who loves summer and hate...

Thank you to St. Martin's Press. I received an advanced copy and am thrilled to share my review. This book reminded me of why I first fell in love with reading. The breathtaking location, the charming characters, the gorgeous scenery, and scrumptious food, all set against the glamorous world of bridal fashion. At the very heart is a love story, well, actually, a few love stories, and if you haven't already fallen in love with Hughes' exquisite at...

4-StarsGrab a hot beverage, a cozy blanket, and maybe a box of tissues for this sweet and savory read.Anita Hughes did an amazing job making St. Moritz, Switzerland come to life in every possible way, inside and outside of her book. The cover brings a sense of peace and calm to the mind that no winter-lover can deny! I love every aspect from the thick feet of snow on the roofs, to the glow of fireplaces inside the chalet, the blue hue of the moun...

ARC received via Netgalley for an honest review. This is my first read by Anita Hughes, and whilst I liked it, I didn't love it.I could almost hear that Robin guy who was the voice-over man for "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" as I was reading. It was kind of hard to connect when every single person was uber-successful and beautiful - no plain Jane office workers in this one - but this could just be me.I loved the setting of St Moritz, and snow...

This tale is pretty much a lifestyles of the rich and famous set in the glitzy backdrop of St. Moritz. Although bridal designer Felicity Grant is the main protagonist, there are other love stories set in the past and present. Felicity was hoping her boyfriend, Adam, of several years would propose at Christmas before leaving for the a big show that could make her a fashion star. After harsh words, they are now on “break” while they think about...

I began this book with some trepidation as it is not my usual preferred genre but the setting, characters and descriptions of beautiful bridal gowns soon won me over. The characters are likeable and the story entertaining. The ending is a perfect Christmas ending! It is a perfect holiday read or a fun getaway from heat and hurricanes. I enjoyed it and for anyone who likes Hallmark Channel Christmas movies it is a must read.

This book really took me to a new place with beautiful scenery and snow that I could almost feel. Felicity is a wedding dress designer. She is having a fashion show in St. Moritz on New Years Eve.Relationships, past history, charming characters and romance all at Christmas time make this story magical. Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read this book.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC, this opinion is mine alone.Anita Hughes does beautiful detail in this book. From descriptions of St Moritz to the wedding gowns designed by Felicity. Felicity is a wedding designer, and is having her first big show in St Motitz on New Years Eve. The follows the designer, models and others for one week till the show. Flashbacks give insight to the dynamics of the players. Predictable storyline. A good read for a co...

I could almost feel the cool snow and picture the beautiful people and scenery. This book really transported me to another world. I loved the setting of St. Moritz. It’s a place I know I will never get to see in real life. But, after reading this book, I felt like I had just gone there. There are beautiful people, stunning scenery, fantastic sounding food, fun events and beautiful wedding dresses and clothing.Wedding gown designer, Felicity Gra...

I am Charlie Brown and Anita Hughes is Lucy. Every time she grabs a new football (otherwise known as her latest release) I am all over it - hoping for an amazing book that I don't feel the need to hyper-critique. And every time, I land flat on my back with a laundry list of complaints..Anita Hughes is a great author but I think she feels the need to fill the shoes of Danielle Steel with her grandiose novels of exceptionally talented and beautiful...

Ugh!! First off this is going to have major spoilers so I can explain why this book annoyed me so much. Felicity is a very wishy-washy person when it comes to her relationship. Felicity gets into a fight with her boyfriend of 6 years because he doesn't propose on Christmas like she thought he would. She leaves right away to go to Switzerland to do her Bridal Fashion show. While she is there she meets the handsome doctor Gabriel. During this whole...

There are actually two love stories in this novel. One revolves around Felicity. She is a wedding dress designer and she is having a Christmas fashion show in St. Moritz. Felicity has been with her boyfriend, Adam for years and she is expecting a ring this Christmas. Hmmmmm!?Then there is Nell. Nell is one of Felicity’s models and best friend. She is planning her own wedding. But, her parents hate each other. Neither one is going to attend her ...

Christmas at the Chalet by Anita Hughes is an interesting look at the fashion industry, a wedding be planned where the parents of the bride are divorced and have a troublesome relationship that the bride needs to come to terms with and a romantic relationship where the woman wants to get married and the man keeps putting her off swearing he loves her but keeps making excuses about getting engaged and setting a wedding date. The setting is St Mori...

I chose to get an ARC of this book FROM NetGalley because I'm a sucker for a Christmas romance. But this one was not a winner for me. For starters, the main character, Felicity (who wants to get engaged to her boyfriend of five years), starts asking for love advice from a handsome stranger. And then keeps going back and back and back to him for advice. It felt super awkward and like she was using him. Doesn't she have a girlfriend to call if she ...

Felicity Grant is a bridal designer who wishes her boyfriend Adam Burton would give her an engagement ring for Christmas. Instead, he gave her a certificate for a day of pampering at the Elizabeth Arden Salon. He is trying to develop his business and does not pay attention to her. He does when blogs start reporting on Felicity and an unidentified man. Adam flies to Switzerland but things have changed between them and Felicity realizes they do not...

The story of St. Moritz at Christmas time, the bridal gowns, and especially the food made this book readable. The basic story was a roller coaster and not in a good way for me. Felicity Grant, owner and designer of wedding gowns is thrilled to be having her winter collection debuted in St. Moritz. The descriptions of her gowns put stars in my eyes. But the side stories seemed to detract from the novel, at least for me. Felicity is devastated by h...

What could be better than beautiful, snowy mountain scenery in Switzerland when you're in a gorgeous chalet at Christmastime? Felicity Grant is a top designer of bridal gowns and she gets the chance to attend a huge fashion show in San Moritz, Switzerland. When I can read a story and feel like it would be such fun to be part of the scenery, it makes for a cozy time, curled up on the couch living vicariously through the book... Christmas at the Chalet does that. Skiing through crisp powdery snow, sitting by a warm fire at the ski lodge, having delicious food, and picturing the gorgeous collection of bridal gowns that Felicity designs, is all part of a charming love story. There is Nell, who is despe...

Christmas at the Chalet is the story of a wedding dress designer & her quest for love. After her long time boyfriend fails to propose when she thought he was, Felicity was discouraged. Immediately after she tried to push & expressed her disappointment, he felt they needed time apart. On the heels of this, she had to pack & head to St. Moritz for the debut of her winter collection. How does she get her mind back on business? What about all the dra...

I received a free copy of "Christmas at the Chalet" by Anita Hughes, through the "Good Reads First Reads Giveaway."The main character is a designer. She is having a Fashion Show in St. Moritz for the elite and everyone who is anybody will be there. The author describes Felicity's gowns down to the last pearl. They are a brides dream. The author's description of St. Moritz, just draws you in as well. There are mouthwatering restaurants, exquisite ...

“What happens in St. Moritz does not stay in St. Moritz.” Romance, gorgeous gowns, detailed descriptions, a glamous setting, delicious food, so much goodness in this novel. A few love stories are woven within. The story takes place during the magical season of Christmas, actually the week between Christmas and New Year’s. I did read this during the summer, but it definitely will put you in the mood for the holiday season. The storytelling a...

I really enjoyed this book. Living in New England I know exactly how cold snow can be haha. It was written beautifully I had no trouble seeing everything. I love the holidays and weddings. I think the Author definitely holds your attention and it was not hard at all to feel like a part of the story. I love when authors can make you feel what the characters feel, see what they see. It was a stunning display of writing. Made me look out my window a...

The debut of the winter wedding gowns for Felicity Grant Bridal is set for St. Moritz with more on the line for designer Felicity Grant than just her dresses. This is a charming story of love lost, love found , and possible reconciliation.A huge fight with her long term boyfriend has her struggling with the reality of their relationship. It does not (or does it?) help that she is seen with a handsome local doctor and the Internet is all abuzz wit...

Felicity and Nell are both dealing with heartache at a time when they should be incredibly happy. Felicity is a bridal designer and she's about to have a huge show. She put too much (I think) into her hopes that her not so great boyfriend would propose for Christmas and now she's crushed. Nell, one of her models, is coping with divorced parents who can't pull it together to make her wedding. All of this is set in St Moritz (yawsa). Hughes has a k...

Christmas at the Chalet is absolutely magical. Felicity is a wedding designer and one of the first dresses described was an organza dress with snowflake shaped diamond buttons. That dress and the beautiful descriptions of St. Moritz makes my want to get married all over again (now if I could only convince my husband)! The book bounced from Felicity, Nell (a gorgeous model who is kind hearted and a great friend to Felicity), and Nell's parents. Th...

Christmas at the Chalet is a charming story in a winter wonderland setting. Felicity and her business partner Raj are in St. Moritz prepping for their big bridal show. The story includes fabulous fashion and love in the snow. Felicity's character is a bit wishy washy as she relies on a local handsome doctor for relationship advice. Nell, one of the models, is running herself ragged trying to keep her estranged parents from realizing they are both...
