This book is part of a series and has some crossover characters, but it is easily read as a standalone. When I started reading this, I didn’t realize it was part of a large series, but I continued on and it was so worth it but with a single mom and her two girls during the Holiday season, I just had to read it.Dani is the single mother to two adorable young girls. They’ve packed up moved to a small town in Idaho. A town that she believed would be a new start for her and her girls. She was offered a position at the local Veterinarian Clinic that...

There's nothing I like better than to be in Haven Point at Christmastime! This author can create stories and characters that put me in the time and place that make me feel like I'm right there in that town alongside these people, experiencing what they are! I feel like I know all of them - and I wish I did! In this book we have Dani, her two children and Deputy Reuben Morales as the main characters. I fell in love with Reuben. He's one of my favo...

This was such a sweet heartwarming story. It follows a single mother Dani who has two girls as they start a new life in the little town of New Haven. Dani heads up the town veterinary hospital after spending a year interning under the mentorship of Dr. Morales who recently retired and had Dani take over. Dani and her daughters struggle to adapt to this small town and she also has a troubled past and finds it hard to connect to people. After some ...

What a relaxing way to spend an evening! Especially those who love the holiday season and enjoy escaping to it anytime of the year. Ruben’s character is the type of hero that is both realistic and swoon-worthy all at once. Dani’s daughters were also very intelligently written and true to character for their ages. Dani was the only drawback for me. I had a really hard time liking her for most of the story. Yes, there were times her loving, tru...

This book had a quiet quality about it, slowly building page by page. Dani was a bit prickly, but when you learn her past it makes sense. I wished that Dani would have given Haven Point more a of a chance, she would have seen that most of the people there wouldn't care, they look to what is, not what happened.Dani's girls were cute, Mia, so adorable, Silver, just started to be the surly teen. Silver seemed to be at the center of so much trouble, ...

RaeAnne Thayne is just one of the best at writing a book that doles out real life problems with heartwarming resolutions. The small town aspect of Season of Wonder and the hunky hero combined with a heroine who fights allowing herself to love, two children trying to adapt to a new life and several dogs thrown in to boot, make this glorious seasonal read a happy place I didn't want to leave!I could smell the Christmas tree, feel the snow on my fac...

Dani and her 2 girls are in Haven Point to start over and put the past behind them. Silver tests the waters and bring Ruben too close for Dani’s comfort.Rubens’ Family is what Dani never had, the girls warm right up and Dani fears them getting hurt. I loved the developments throughout the story. A great read!!

Reading this book was purely decadent, I did not want it to end. The characters captured my heart from Dani’s cute little dimpled daughter to the teenage one who was getting in trouble and had lots to teen drama and Ruban I can see him being the book boyfriend of all the single mothers that read this book, and then there’s Dani, who could not love her? With all the guilt and blame she feels for the terrible things her ex did after they were di...

Season of Wonder is a great Christmas story from RaeAnne Thayne. There is lots of drama and conflict around Dani's family fitting into small town culture and learning to trust again, as well as the standard teenage angst. I liked the characters very much, and the story and drama was right on. This is a great addition to the Haven Point series, but can also be read as a stand alone.

Warm holiday love story with a lot of angst. I enjoyed it. The children were so realistic, the dialogue was on point and the hero was swoon worthy.Christmas stories are so wonderful.

Daniela Capelli and her two daughters have moved to Haven Point, where she is doing an internship at the veterinary clinic with plans to fully take it over. Dr Morales has semi retired and looking forward to full retirement and turning the clinic over to her. His generosity includes a beautiful home on the lake for her and her girls to live in. There’s a problem though. Her next-door neighbor is Dr Morales son. Ruben Morales is a deputy, exudin...

Season of Wonder is a cute, cozy Christmas romance. I’m a sucker for holiday romances, both in book format and made-for-tv movies, because I love the holidays and have a strict preference for happy endings. That all being said, Christmas is more set dressing in this story rather than an important plot point. It could just have easily been set around some local festival or other event without much else changing in the story. Haven Point, the com...

RaeAnne Thayne is one of my favorite authors. Her books always leave me all mushy and happy and ready to jump into another one of her stories. She knows how to capture me with her writing and never leaves me unsatisfied. What more could I ask for? Season Of Wonder was wonderful. Superb writing, great characters, some laughs and of course, it wouldn’t be a RaeAnne Thayne book if I didn’t get a little misty eyed. Dani Capelli and her two daught...

Although this is Book 9 in the Haven Point series, each book can be read as a stand-alone. But it's nice seeing some characters from previous books in this series too. It makes you feel like you know just about everyone in this small Idaho town of Haven Point.Unlike many of RaeAnne Thayne's other books, this one took me awhile to really get into it. However, I must say that Deputy Ruben Morales made my heart go pitter-patter from the first moment...

This is a beautifully written story about Daniella (Dani) Capelli and her two children, Silver (13) and Mia (6), who move from the east coast to Haven Point, Idaho to start a new life. Dani, now a veterinarian, accepted a job offer interning for a vet for a year to see if the move and the job are a good fit for her. I loved it! A wonderful story of a small family moving to a new town. The teenager who is unhappy with the move gets into a little trouble. The deputy sheriff/next door neighbor who helps her see the error of her ways. The sweet little sister who shows everyone happiness and joy. The mom/new veterinarian who is trying to adjust to a new town while keeping her late ex-husband's exploits a secret from her new community.Throughout the book I wondere...

RaeAnne Thayne’s 2018 Christmas story lives up to all of the previous eight stories in the Haven Point series. You don’t need to have read the previous stories but some of those characters do make an appearance. Dani Capelli is a single mom of two daughters, one of whom is a moody thirteen -year -old. Dani gets to know her neighbor, the local deputy sheriff, Ruben Morales, when he brings her daughter home after catching her ”red handed” n...

I received this novel for free during the 2018 ALA conference. A really quick read, but pretty cute. It was fairly predictable in terms of the ending, but I actually found that there weren’t many eye-rolling moments in terms of overused tropes or ridiculous scenarios. I liked how the main character was realistic in terms of her focus being on her children and not her own desires, but I also liked how she recognized that trying to keep a balance...

I couldn’t put this one down! I’ve enjoyed other Haven Point stories, but this one really grabbed me. Maybe I connected with the children and pups, or maybe it’s just that I’m happy Ruben finally got his story. Either way, the characters are so real that you’ll root for them, especially when the going gets tough. Add in all of the traditions of Christmas and I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one, too!

First of all, the book itself is gorgeous from the high quality paper and the finish on the cover. Absolutely beautiful presentation! Then the book itself- It was wonderful to visit Haven Point again and while it was a familiar setting, the book mainly focused on Dani, her girls and Ruben. I loved reading about the Capellis settling in to Haven Point and the blossoming of this little family. Very heartwarming.

A new family to Haven Point and Ruben Morales' neighbors are featured in this year's Christmas story. Dani is the new veterinarian who is working with Ruben's dad. She's overcome lots of issues to get were she is today. Then her daughter starts acting out and Ruben is there to help. Christmas is all about tradition and Dani and her daughters get to experience that in Haven Point.
