Shimmy Bang Sparkle is by Nicola Rendell. I’ve been such a fan of Nicola’s since I first came across her books. But just when I thought she couldn’t amaze me any more, when she couldn’t make me fall in love any deeper, she did! Nick Norton is forty years old, covered in tattoos, rides a Ducati motorcycle, and just got out of prison. You see, Nick is or rather “was” a thief, who specialized in his knack for picking locks and opening sa...

In the past, this author's books have been a little hit or miss for me. I find she tends to get a bit longwinded at times and because of that, her books can drag along in places. That said, the whole "jewel thief" premise of this one intrigued me enough that I decided to give her another chance. Luckily, this one didn't suffer from too much needless rambling. Yes it did start to drag a bit near the end, and I think the author could have cut a few...

Nick was fresh out of prison and looking forward to starting over and living his life well. Then he catches a glimpse of heaven through the window of a jewelry store. He can’t look away. And thoughts of moving forward without her are no longer possible. He walks into that store and takes in the full picture that is Stella. She’s not only physically gorgeous, but she had a personality to match. Everything about her sang to him. Every part of h...

Shimmy Bang Sparkle was my first Nicola Rendell read, and it absolutely will not be my last. It was extremely well written, and while at first glance you may assume it’s just another contemporary romance with a predictable trope, it is not that. It’s very original from the plot, to the banter, to the main characters and the side ones. I think people who enjoy movies like Ocean’s 11/12/13/8 and wish that there was a little bit more heat and ...

As far as I’m concerned, Nicola Rendell’s writing is pretty near perfection, and with every new book I love her a little more. Her writing transports me into the story with every gorgeously written scene, her beautiful phrases, vivid imagery, exciting action, and some of the best damn dialogue out there. Shimmy Bang Sparkle once again illustrates just how talented this author is at creating tightly written, cleverly crafted stories that will ...

This book owned me. Loved it.Witty, sexy and romantic this worked as a romance, but it was also a gripping thriller. I was reading this through my fingers at times, so nervous, willing things to go their way. They're both jewel thieves, but the ethics are neatly dealt with as there's something of a Robin Hood motivation for their misdeeds which of course makes grand theft perfectly fine. Completely fine. Really. It's not the dark, grisly underbell...

Ok, I just want to start by saying I’m a LOT in love this book, everything just captured my attention and I couldn’t get enough, ahhh. Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review When I first read the blurb to this book it grabbed my attention and I knew it would be something that I would want to read, something I knew I would love and I was right, so very right. Johnny James being the cover model MAY have been the extra pull I needed b...

Rated 3.5 StarsShimmy Bang Sparkle was cute, sweet and naughty. I expected it to be dark and seedy because the hero and heroine were both jewel thieves, there were dark and seedy elements to it but it was overall pretty light. That wasn't the only surprising thing about it. I liked that the hero embarrassed himself in front of the heroine the first time they met, it's usually the other way around. They had this strong rapport from the very beginn...

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!!! From the very first chapter Nicola Rendell drew me in. The humor, the different plot line, the sexy. It was all here!! I especilly loved the fact that both Nick and Stella jumped head first into the relationship. And it was HOT!!! We could all use a bit of Nick in our life.

First things first, because I feel the need to get this off my chest. I didn’t like the book title! Shimmy Bang Sparkle! What the hell is that all about? But I do love Nicola Rendell’s writing style so it was a given I would read it and now, I’ve read it, I agree it could not have had a better title. It was like a full on green eggs and ham turnaround moment. Shimmy Bang Sparkle it is. And Shimmy Bang Sparkle is perfect. From page one, I was...

😍😍😍This was my first time reading one of Nicola Rendell’s books, but you can bet it definitely won’t be my last! In her bio, she says she writes “naughty romantic comedies” and that is sooooo accurate and it’s the perfect way to describe this book!SHIMMY BANG SPARKLE was deliciously sexy and naughty, but soooooo funny and sweet, too! Stella and Nick were amazing and their chemistry was on fire...a few chapters in and these two ...

I've loved all of Nicola Rendell's books and the title of this one had me super excited and anxious to get my hands on it!! Well it did not disappoint. Stella Peretti (that name is the best!!) the head of the Shimmy Shimmy Bangs a group of lady Jewel thieves with Robin Hood Hearts meets Nick Norton former thief trying to get straight and fireworks happen. I don't want to give away the story but I will say that this was a long one. The build up at...

Shimmy Bang Sparkle was the first book I read written by Nicola Rendell. To be completely honest, I thought this book was going to be something dark and naughty but it ended up being such a cute book to read. From an original plot, to delightful characters and their hilarious banter, to the writing, this book was written with a contemporary romantic reader in mind. For this review and more, check out:Blog | Twitter | Instagram | Wattpad

I am normally persuaded to read a book by the blurb, but this one had me a bit nervous, as it sounded a bit “thriller/suspense” but in actual fact, it had such a sweet, sexy storyline, with lots of funny moments thrown in, and it kept me thoroughly entertained from beginning to end. I hadnt read anything from this author before, so wasn’t sure what to expect, but will definitely be reading more from her in the future.

This is the first book I read from Nicola Rendell and I might check out her other books. Also, I loved the cover! However, I just couldn't get into the story. The simple drop of a phone. That little mishap sets off a meeting that ends up being life changing. Neither Stella or Nick are prepared for the whirlwind that follows. Will everything go wrong? 5+ StarsOkay, I'm going into fangirl mode here because I have read every one of Nicola's book and just when you think she can't possibly write another book better than the last, she goes and blows it out of the water again. This woman writes naughty romance with humour like no other author I know. Her writing is witty, sweet, romantic with that touch of angst thrown in to keep you turning those pages right until the very end. Her words and phrase...

This is the first time I've read this author. After reading the previous reviews, it's very apparent that I somehow missed something because...well...I guess this just wasn't my cup of tea. Nick notices a beautiful woman in a jewelry store looking at a 2 carat engagement ring. The way she moves, smiles, laughs, immediately pulls him in. But it shouldn't. I mean, she's not only looking at an engagement ring, she's in a jewelry store. Why is the st...

From the beginning SBS was a page turner. It started out perfectly, with a con! I was so anxious to see how it would be pulled off and from there I was hooked. Both main characters come from very interesting backgrounds and I loved reading their history and how they got to where they were. Some parts of the story were dark and figuratively had me peeking behind my hands to see what would happen next! I was so scared for Nick at times. I felt bad ...

Shimmy Bang Sparkle was somewhat different kind of read than we all are probably used to. It was funny and interesting although I couldn't get into it in the beginning. With the time and deeper into the story I kind of got there and started to love the lead characters. Nick and Stella got this hotness around them, they don't even know they radiate it. The attraction is feelable through the pages. Together they work on plan to get Northern Star. T...

4.5 stars. Nicole Rendell can do no wrong in my book. I have a huge soft spot for ex-con Heroes so I knew I was going to love this one going in. Nick is right out of prison and takes one look at Stella outside a store window and has to meet her. He is smitten right away.
