4 took me by surprise stars I must say that Emily Bleeker is quickly becoming one of my go to authors. I believed The Waiting Room seemed like a classic family drama, but there were more than a few surprises in store that made me quickly lose track of time. This is definitely one of my contenders for the most gut wrenching climax. I would highly recommend this as a good choice for a book club option. Thanks to Netgalley for an e-ARC in exchang...

Somebody get my Chiropractor on the line! I think I have whiplash from all the twists and turns! What a ride!Emily Bleeker can consistently weave a story like nobody's business and The Waiting Room is no exception!Just when you think you have it all figured out - WHAM! Whiplash. I cannot even explain my love for her writing, and the way she crafts these incredibly suspenseful stories. Knocked this one out of the park. Totally out of the park and ...

I had tears by the time I finished this book. My heart felt as if every drop of emotion was drained out of it. I was in turmoil. I liked the book, yet I didn't like it in some parts. The story goes like this, since her husband's death, Veronica has post partum depression. She couldn't touch her daughter. Her mother looked after the daily needs of her daughter till one day the child disappeared. And Veronica had to go searching for her daughter si...

One of the Best Domestic Thrillers and will keep you guessing (trust me you will not figure this one out), until the REVEAL. Emily Bleeker's best YET! A chart-topper. Definitely will make my Top 30 Books of 2o018! Complete review to follow. In the meantime, pre-0rder this one, and move to the TOP of you...

3.5 starsA first by Emily Bleeker but it won’t be my last. It’s always exciting for me to read books by authors I’ve never read before because every author has their own way of writing a book. Some tend to focus more on the thriller aspect in a thriller novel, and some tend to focus a little more on the emotional aspect, but the thriller aspect is there. For this book, I found the first bit a little boring and t it was until about halfway t...

Wow! Just Wow!!! I'm a huge Emily Bleeker fan. This book truly hit home. I suffered from Post Partum Depression ~ not to the extent of Veronica ~ but I did understand some of her emotions. As with a lot of other readers, I was disappointed until I hit the 35% mark ~ then it got good.....it got really crazy amazing good. Please stick with this book. I almost DNF 'd it.....but stick with it. It is so worth it ~ I promise. Thank you Net Galley, Lake...

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book. This was a well-written book that tugged at my heart. Throughout most of the story I found myself angry one minute with Veronica, mostly when she couldn't bring herself to pick up her own little girl, and the next minute, understanding the depth of her depression and inability to move forward. As reality lines blur, Veronica's story takes several twists that keep you reading to see...

I knew this book was going to be good but wow; it is amazing. I honestly couldn't put it down and read it in one afternoon. So many twists that keep you guessing (I suspected one) but the author saves the best for last. If you like books that grab at your heart strings and also involve a lot of mystery and some shocking moments; don't miss this one.! Thanks to Netgalley and Lake Union Publishing for the ARC

What an interesting way to write a book. Not at all your typical thriller and suspense. Which is not to say the book doesn’t have that, because it does. Veronica Shelton is grieving. Grieving the loss of her husband after his death. So much so that she can’t bear to hold, touch or interact with her 8 month old daughter Sophie. Until one morning after Veronica awakens to find her daughter missing. Frustrated by Police efforts to help her, Vero...

This is a page turner from the very first page. The story seems innocent enough in the beginning but then I found everyone guilty or the suspect. Great job by the author to provide just enough character development when a character is introduced to make you keep guessing. The author touches on some sensitive topics which helps you grasp the why in some of the situations through out the book. I highly recommend this book. I received a copy of this...

This was an incredible book! I finished it in one day, and had tears streaming down my face when it ended. It portrays the powerful force that motherhood is, and what we will do for the children we love.

I know I am in the minority when I say I did not love this book. I finished it, but skimmed a lot.Recently there are so many 'crazy women' books out there - it seems like any 'women's suspense' book these days has a storyline where the main character, a woman, is 'crazy'. Delusional. Unsettled. Deranged. Demented.Take your pick.Because I am one of the few women on this planet who did not love this book, I cannot recommend it. Based solely on my o...

This was a very interesting psychological read. I enjoyed the way the author weaved a tale centered on mental illness and the truth that lies behind the crippling effects depression has on an individual. I could personally relate to a few of the feelings the protagonist, Veronica AKA Ronnie, displayed. It was interesting to see how she blocked out a traumatic experience which caused depression to overpower her & take a toil on her life. The cloud...

OH MY GOODNESS! WHAT A RIDE!! This book just made my top 10 books of the year and possibly, top 10 books I've EVER read!! Wow. Just wow. It's hard to say a lot about that plot without giving too much away, so I won't say too much. Veronica Shelton has a lot on her shoulders. She gave birth to her daughter and within weeks, her husband was killed. This leads her to battling postpartum depression. Weird things start happening. There's a break in at...

In my Goodreads reviews of psychological thrillers, I routinely mention that I enjoy unreliable narrators. Fortunately for me, this novel delivered on that and more. The Waiting Room is an empathetic portrait of a mother with postpartum depression. Veronica cannot even make physical contact with her child and hasn't in months because of her anxiety and depression. While sometimes Veronica's actions are hard to understand or digest for readers who...

I loved "When I'm Gone" and "Working Fire" so I was excited to read "The Waiting Room." This book did not disappoint and was not what I expected at all. I'm not even sure where to to begin. It's a psychological thriller and has so many twists and turns. I started to believe one thing and then find out it wasn't true. At one point I wasn't sure which character was actually telling the truth. I never guessed the ending or even thought that was goin...

The Waiting Room is the second book I have read by Emily Bleeker, the first being When I’m Gone. I have to admit that The Waiting Room knocked me for a loop. I didn’t have a clue how it was going to turn out. I was shocked at the outcome. When I first started the book, I was pretty well hooked from the first few pages. However, I found myself really annoyed with the paychological issues of the main character. What woman who has suffered great...

I received this book from Netgalley in return for my honest opinion. This book was really good from the start and then it got weird in the middle. She can't sleep, can't work and can't even go near her beautiful daughter. Her husband takes off with their daughter in the middle of the ...

Veronica has lost her husband and is trying to cope with a new born. Ever since her husband's death she cannot bear to even go into the baby's room and pick her crying infant. The character Veronica is complex and the problems are psychological and seem insurmountable. How ...

This is one of those twisty-turns psychological suspense type stories. I loved it. I thought I had it figured out early on, but then changed my mind, then changed it again, then again. Finally gave up trying to figure it out and just enjoyed the ride. I was not disappointed in the final reveal—although it was one of the possibilities I suspected early on, there was a twist that satisfied. There is some language and moderate violence. It's diffi...

I did not see that one coming. This was a good psychological thriller. While I had my suspicions about what possibly could be happening, I was surprised by the actual ending of The Waiting Room. Emily Bleeker created complex characters and a story full of emotion and intrigue. Some of the expositions did become tedious to get through, but each character was able to pull me through the story and wanting me to find out what the truth was with Veron...

I'm not usually one who figures things out ahead of time when I am reading a suspenseful thriller, but this time I was sure from about a third of the way in that I had it all figured out. Turns out I was only about a third right! This is a good book that might keep you guessing along the way.. or else you will stop guessing, thinking you know already what is going to happen.. and BAM! I think you will be surprised!I recommend this book as a twist...

I received this book for my honest review. I've never read anything by this author but can say that this will be the first of many that I will read. I felt connected to the character from the first chapter and needed to find out what happened. The story had me guessing the entire way and the surprises that came made sense to the story but some I didn't guess till right before. I even had to stay up late and lost track of time to finish it. I will...
