I was actually kinda hoping of more Magnus and Alex interaction but sadly there's none. Nonetheless it was still a good read.PS. I badly needed more of Rick Riordan's humor. Please publish another series huehue

'Think about it. What's the one thing all nine worlds have in common?' 'Thor's footprints and lingering fart stench?'

↠ 3,75 starsGetting the opportunity to read about these characters again was a huge blessing because I missed them enormously since the Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series had ended last year. This time we get read short stories which were told from different pov's and it almost felt like coming home to Hotel Valhalla

It was so much fun to revisit the worlds and friends of Magnus Chase, whose series ended much too soon, in my opinion. This short collection is a fun jaunt through all nine worlds of the Norse mythologies, as the title implies, but it is so much more. The combination of literary detail with contemporary, light-hearted writing and characters gives Riordan a place of his own in the genre and in the hearts of his fans. Another winner, for sure.

I received a copy of this book from Disney-Hyperion via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.9 from the Nine Worlds is the latest from Rick Riordan's Gods of Asgard series. Like other of his books, 9 from the Nine Worlds is more of a companion book which consists of nine short stories. Each chapter, or story, is told from the point of view of one of Magnus’s friends and each travels to one of the Nine Worlds. We get to see Hearthstone, Al...

E ARC from Edelweiss PlusIf you haven't ordered this for your library already, you need to! It's hard for me to review short stories, and the Norse mythology is not my strong suit, but there are different camps of Riordan fandom emerging now, and Asgard lovers will need this! I have to admit to loving The Lightning Thief best of all, although one of my runners is trying to convince me that The Kane Chronicles is really the best. (And I would love...

Manon don’t give out 5 stars just because of Rick challenge. 3,5/5 While the writing in this book was very comforting and never failed to make me smile, this collection of (very) short stories doesn’t make Rick justice. I feel like this format does not really suit him, the stories were weak in terms of plot and characterization which is never the case in his full length novels. However it was nice to be reunited with some characters from the ...

THIS WAS SO FUN TO READ (every rick riordan book is, to be honest)

Once again a 5 star because I just enjoy Rick Riordan's writing a lot and I usually find myself without complaints. Some of the stories were a little less interesting to me, but that only seem natural in a multi-character assembly book. Not the best I've ever read by Rick Riordan, but entertaining. And it gave me a lot more Alex than I expected.

A great little novella that continued the adventures of the side characters from the Magnus Chase storyline. Once again I love getting to know and continue with the characters I’ve grown to know and love!

Love, love, love this book. I'm not going to lied, when Magnus Chase last book ended I was a little bit disappointed because it left somethings unfinished, specially with his friends stories. I love this book since it gave me a new insight into their minds. Every chapter in the book is dedicated to one of Magnus friends, and the thing that tied every story in the end is Thor! Who by the way continues to be CLUELESS! I want to keep reading more of...

Another cute short story collection from the Magnus Chase universe. Much like the Guide to Hotel Valhalla, this features short stories and a few illustrations that follow the main characters of the series on different adventures through each of the nine worlds. It's a really fun read and I enjoy seeing more of the characters [also hearing that Alex misses Magnus when he's away, awww], but as always I find it difficult to rate such short stories m...

I only recently found out that the third book in the Magnus Chase series was the final one. I was so sad, but then I heard about this book of short stories featuring those same characters. While I would love for the Magnus Chase books to continue, this book was a lot of fun to read. Basically every character except Magnus was in it, and it was a nice review of the nine realms. Plus, Thor in short shorts jogging his way through each story was wort...

AMAZING! I loved it! Very short but IT’S WORTH IT! I loved coming back to these characters and getting their own POV. I enjoyed every story and recommend it to everyone. Rick Riordan has a way of making every one of his stories unique! GO READ IT!!!

Anyone who has read the Magnus Chase novels will already have an appreciation for the kind of humor that Rick Riordan includes in writing them. For those who decided to try this collection of stories to see if they liked the Nine Worlds, here is a quick taste. Odin begins by sharing with us, "My Einherjar have a saying: Some days you are the ax, some days you are the decapitated head. I like it so much, I'm having T-shirts made for the Hotel Valh...

This review originally published in Looking For a Good Book. Rated 4.0 of 5How do you appeal to the younger (late elementary/middle school) readers? You give them a popular series with some recognizable characters and you add some crude humor ("Thor was letting out farts like a sputtering engine.").This book is nine short stories told from the point of view of different characters. We start with Asgard: Home of the Aesir -"Just Another Decapitate...

Con Magnus lontano dal Valhalla, i suoi amici sono solo nell'affrontare le insidie dei nove mondi. Riusciranno a risolvere tutti i possibili problemi senza l'eroe numero uno?

I got an advance reader's copy (ARC) of 9 From the Nine Worlds. As this means the version I read is just a proof and not the final version, I won't quote directly and will keep my comments general. The gang from Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard is back in this charming, silly, wholly enjoyable collection of nine short stories by the ever-talented Rick Riordan. Each tale is set in a different world of Norse mythology, and each has a different na...
