This was the most wonderful book of stories for young girls! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Each contribution consists of one page, with a drawing of the woman whose story it is. There is also a shared scripture for each. These stories are stories from women and girls of the Bible and from the entire world: Jane Austen, Harriett Tubman, Elizabeth Elliott, to name a few. Very encouraging stories for young girls in the world today, stories that will help...

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This is the same concept as Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls, but including only people with Christian faith. The concept was exactly the same. It was not a bad book to read, and the illustrations were good, but it felt too much like a copy of a concept already done - no original work put into it (even the structure of the book was the same as in ...

Isn’t the cover for Jean Fischer’s “100 Extraordinary Stories for Courageous Girls” absolutely stunning? It definitely stands out from books in general. This is geared mostly to young girls, but I think this is perfect for any age. I’m an adult and I personally loved it.As you browse through the book, you’ll find 100 women who have extraordinary and courageous to tell. These are women from all throughout history. Many are women from t...

I won a copy of this written for young girls, to encourage them to try and do their best. Women can make a difference. Each is a 1 page write up and then a pic of the lady. Many will remember from Sunday School or Class at school. example: Ruth Bell Graham *married to Billy Graham, Harriet Tubman, Esther *from the Bible, Clara Barton, The Widow Who Gave 2 Mites *bible, etcVery well written book. One you can just read a page or two at the time, or...

What a wonderful book. 100 unforgettable tales of women of faith. I found this book to be very inspiring. Stories of many women of faith in our history. Very encouraging stories for girls to grow from. Letting them know they can be somebody. Very enjoyable book. Even I learned from it. Great time to read maybe a story of each woman each night at bedtime. If you have little girls be a great book for a gift. A big piece of our history. Well written...

I love that the author has put together such a strong collection stories about women of faith who have changed our world for the better for young girls (or boys). Although written about women of faith and perhaps for Christian readers certainly the message goes across generations and faiths. I enjoyed the underlying concept of encouraging and inspiring young people to "become the world-changer" that God created them to be. The illustrations are b...

In this new book author Jean Fischer lists 100 women that she considers extraordinary. Many are from the Bible: Esther, Jochebed, Ruth, Mary, and Noah's wife; many others are from history: Clara Barton, Florence NIghtingale, Harriet Tubman, and Rosa Parks; and some have lived in this century, such as Joni Eareckson Tada, Jackie Pullinger and Ruth Bell Graham. They all led different lives but they all possessed one common trait---they each loved G...

This book is geared towards girls 8 and up. I am 65 and I loved it! I learned about women that I have never heard of before. I also learned facts about women that I didn't know before. I learned that Jane Austen is buried at a famous church, not because she was an important author, but because she was well known for serving God. I also learned about Mary McLeod Bethune, The First Lady of the Struggle. President Franklin D. Roosevelt chose her as ...

I don't think I can say enough great things about this book! Geared toward young girls ages 8 and up but encouraging for older women like me. One hundred women are featured from the Bible, history, and to present day. I recognized many but also learned about women I had never heard about. Each is a one page biography along with a drawing of the person and scripture at the bottom relating to their story and also to inspire those reading. Some of m...

This is a wonderful little book for young girls. Each story features a different woman from history, along with an illustration of the person, a scripture that goes along with the story, and an inspirational message to relate the story to the reader’s life. The encouraging messages are thoughtful and uplifting. Two of my granddaughters aged 11 and 14 looked at the book and read some of the stories. The 14-year-old said she really liked the pict...

100 Extraordinary Stories for Courageous Girls is a standout book presented in one-page write-ups of Biblical women and other women of faith. It is designed for girls, but suitable for any age (in my opinion.) Each tale has a corresponding full-page illustration, Bible references passages, and an inspiring Scripture verse.I would have treasured a book like this when I was a young girl. The short tales are interesting and inspiring, and serve as e...

100 Extraordinary Stories for Courageous Girls is a book I got thinking my daughter would love it. However, I’m pleasantly surprised to see how much enjoyment I’m receiving from it as well. It’s a great book that tells about various women in the Bible and in history and the extraordinary things they did. There is an accompanying Bible verse on each page, along with a picture and a short summary. The summary only is one page so it’s easy t...

I really enjoyed this sweet little collection, and think it is a great gift for a young girl. The featured Women of faith run the gamut, from Clara Barton to Naomi; Corrie Ten Boom to Jane Austen. I would have liked if more of the featured women had been secular, because it’s easier for young girls to relate to Rosa Parks than to a woman in the Bible whose name & history we don’t even know. Nevertheless, the positive message is there and in a...

I just love this book. I am a mother of a ten year old and each night we read a page together. Each page is colorful and full of inspiring information about how a woman displayed faith. It ends with a prayer that can be prayed together. The book is easy enough for a young girl to read alone as well. It has an attractive ribbon that helps keep your place. I think it would inspire any girl or woman to act upon their faith.

Disclosure: I won this book through Goodreads Giveaways. This is a beautiful book for young women of faith. Each page features a different woman from the bible, history, or current events accompanied by a full-paged illustration. The biographies are short, but perfect for an eight-year old as an introduction to these strong women.

An absolutely beautiful book!!! I was lucky to win this in a goodreads giveaway. I was expecting stories about women in the bible but there are also many others. Each has a full page picture and gives an easy to understand lesson about being faithful to God. I am looking forward to sharing this book with girls and boys at my church.

The short, one page biographies about these 100 girls or women spans the centuries. Published by a Christian publishing group, Barbour, would have expectations that these would all be Biblical characters. Not so. This book draws from girls and women of faith throughout history - Biblical and secular. The connection is their faith. They are courageous in the face of what their experience presents to them and their life is one of faith. Faith in a G...

This book is a Christian spin on Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls: the format and illustration style are essentially the same. Whilst it might lack some originality I think it's cleaver to have adopted a popular and familiar format to introduce a new type of character. My daughters LOVED Goodnight Stories so I'm thrilled to be able to use a similar book to introduce them to women of faith who impacted the world. This book is brilliant for teachi...
