The Greatest Love Story Ever Told by Megan Mullally

The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

At last, the full story behind Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman's epic romance, including stories, portraits, and the occasional puzzle, all telling the smoldering tale that has fascinated Hollywood for over a decade. The year: 2000. The setting: Los Angeles. A gorgeous virtuoso of an actress had agreed to star in a random play, and a basement-dwelling scenic carpenter had said he would assay a supporting role in the selfsame pageant. At the firs...

This is my favorite celebrity couple. Not only are they funny as hell, they’re total bibliophiles. If you like audiobooks, I’d recommend listening vs. print (I’ve read both formats). It’s an oral history, so it’s literally #Mullally and #Offerman speaking dialogue, much of it delightful back-and-forth banter as they guide us through a brief history of their upbringings, relationships, and careers. Their narration is a real treat. Ideall...

I only got one galley from Book Expo, but it was a good one: This might be better as an audiobook. I got to see Nick and Megan do a reading of the intro at Book Expo and it was hysterical, but reading the book myself fell kind of flat.

In 2000, Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman meet on the set of a play. And the rest, as they say, is history. Their book is the story of their relationship--telling the story of how they met, from each's first impressions of one another and ranging across their courtship, wedding, work, and romance. The book covers such topics as family, past romances, religion, theater, and more. I love both Megan and Nick immensely, so I was extremely excited whe...

I received a digital arc from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.4.5 stars.First and foremost, I am a fan of both Nick Offerman and Megan Mullaly. I always thought they were a funny couple but they worked well together. This book just seals the fact that they are a great couple. It's a book written by them and told mostly through a transcription of them discussing certain topics about their life, apart and together. It does take a some pa...

I like Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally... but not this book.I listened the audio version, which may have made a difference, but it was like listening to a six-hour interview about not a whole lot.

I love Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman... They're hilarious and talented and I wish they were my friends. They're obviously genuine and devoted to each other... That comes through the book. I do feel like this book would best be enjoyed as an audio book... It's set up mostly as a back and forth conversation between the two. And while I did read it in Ron Swanson and Karen Walker's voice, I think listening to the two of them telling these stories...

This was so good on audio! Pretty sure they are my favorite couple ever! They audio puzzle!

This book was not really much about anything. It was a random assortment of ideas, where both authors give their perspectives. It was a delightful back and forth between two love birds, but I didn't get a sense of the love. It felt more like a good publicity stunt than a great writing attempt. It's marketed as their love story, but it didn't really hit on what makes their love the greatest. It's about how they met, how they didn't bang right away...

I'm not usually one to follow celebrity romances, but there's something about Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman's love for each other that just makes me feel all gooey and happy. They're so cute! In Nick Offerman's memoir Paddle Your Own Canoe, he spends chapters (CHAPTERS) talking about how much he loves Megan Mullally, and it warmed my cold, dead heart enough to make me believe in love again. I loved their comedy special The Summer of 69, and I'...

If you are a fan of both/ either of these two, this book is an absolute delight to listen to on audio. Basically just a series of conversations between the two about their relationship, careers, and families. I'm sorry I missed the photos, but the recording is great and I can't imagine reading this on print and having such a fun time with it.

The hardcover had some hilarious pictures, but I highly recommend the audiobook. It was an entertaining and informative listen that felt more like a podcast or like being a fly on the wall while these two shared their memories.

"Nick: You’re all chill. All the time. It’s hard to get a rise out of you. And I’m like a fucking moth in a lamp. Megan: That’s going to be the name of my autobiography: Moth in a Lamp.”Nick and Megan are my favorite celebrity couple. They complete each other perfectly and only those two could make jokes about everything and not get offended. They are the ideal dinner date couple. I was super excited when my friend handed me this at Boo...

I really wanted to love this book, but after a while I found it boring. I think listening to the audiobook version would be much more enjoyable.

Awww my favourite celebrity couple! If you're interested in this, do get the audiobook, it's like a 6 hour chat between Nick and Megan (and they describe the photos for you). Some sections seemed more like it was just Megan's autobiography though and I'm not that interested in hearing about actors' career paths. Made my chuckle in places.

Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman are well known for their wildly popular television roles on Will & Grace and Parks and Recreation, and also as "hashtag couple goals".  The couple has been together for 18 years (pretty unheard of in entertainment) and fans keep watch over their social media accounts which highlight their surprisingly normal lives obsessing over their dogs and doing puzzles together. The Greatest Love Story Ever Told is an oral hi...

I firmly believe if I had not listened to the audio version of this, I wouldn't have liked it as much, or rated it as highly. But I did, and it just made me feel so good to listen to, and even after I listened. Which is why I gave this a 5-star rating despite some minor nitpicky things I could have justified bumping it down for. These two are the ultimate #relationshipgoals. Like, I just love their story, and how crazy they clearly are about each...

I was super excited to be first on the library hold list and get this audiobook on pub day. Such great narration by these 2 quirky author-actors. Both such creative people and so FUN! It was a quick listen that I finished in just 2 days. They have great viewpoints on creativity, being childfree, loving their dogs, not caring about their 11 year age difference, working hard and having fun hobbies. Married for 15 years & together for 18, they seem ...

I love listening to authors reading their own memoirs and this is no exception. Since the book was recorded and transcribed into book form, it feels natural to listen to Megan and Nick's conversations instead of reading them. But, with this book if you don't pick up the hardcover and see the fantastic photographs you're definitely missing out! I had the chance to look at the print book before listening to the audio and am really glad I was able t...

I loved this book because I am huge fan of both Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally. However, if you are a casual fan of both/one or the other, this book might not click with you the way it did with me. It's also more of a conversation than a novel. You can tell they recorded the book instead of wrote it, apart from a few sections. So, although I physically read it, I'm assuming the audiobook would be fantastic and a great, if not better, way to rea...

Could not finish the book. The way it was written (transcribed from conversations they had on a recording) made it almost impossible to get immersed in it. The only redeeming chapters were ones where it was just one of their musings (not both).I then rented the audiobook, and it was of course amazing. Almost like an 8 hour podcast that never got old (since it was Megan and Nick speaking for 8 hours, what's not to love?)1 star for the book, 5 star...

I love Nick and Megan but I couldn't finish the audiobook. I know they were probably joking most of the time but the book was boring and there was a lot of complaining about rich/famous people problems. I've been in a reading rut and this is the first book I've picked up in months. It definitely didn't make the rut any better.

Fun and silly quick read about Megan and Nick's devotion to each other, their mutual love for art and music, and some stuff on growing up and getting into acting. They end the book talking about puzzles (omg the pictures!!!) and their dogs so that alone garners a 5 star review from me. Loved reading this in their voices.

I feel like these two should do a podcast about relationships. Not that I would listen to it, but reading conversations set out like this is just “meh” for me. Plus I’m kind of in a funk about celebrity memoirs. Just didn’t quite hit the notes I would have wanted.

Charm personified. I am in love with Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally, too. That these two people found each other is a testament to true love. Also, they are hilarious people with excellent manners.

So funny! Ron and Tammy 2 forever! AND they mention Karen Kilgariff! #creamdream

Audiobook, and exactly what audiobooks were invented for. The giggles and delight these two take in each other is lovely and funny and interesting.

Listened to the audiobook. I would recommend listening to the audio book, they are quite funny together, and you can hear how much they care about each other as they talk and joke. Loved this so much.
  • Jen Donnelly
This was fantastic on audio! The book is, in large part, dialogue between the couple, so audio is perfect! They are SO funny. I have the book on hold at the library so I can see all the pictures they included in the print copy. I’m a huge fan of both Nick and Megan, so I loved hearing about their love for each other and how much they LIKE each other. #relationshipgoals
