I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.Ever since I first heard of this book I knew I wanted to read it. A reverse harem mermaid romance book just sounded so fun. I like mermaid stories, but it can be hard to find ones that really appeal to me. And after I read one of this author's books last week I was even more excited about this one. The Mermaid's Escape was a great read and I am already looking forward to book 2.Th...

Spoiler Free Review: A Great Reverse Harem.I’m sure that this is going to pop up in a lot of reviews, but I have to say it anyway. This is a reverse harem y’all. A reverse harem. Meaning, you get one girl and several very eligible bachelors to pick from. The difference between the usual love triangle trope is that she doesn’t have to pick one and stick with him. The girl’s free to pick whoever she wants whenever she wants! No drama. Now le...

The Mermaids Escape by Kellie McAllen a five-star read you will not want to escape from. I am a fan of the authors work but had so far only read her young adult romance series and this is the first book in the Siren Series and this is the reverse harem paranormal romance so very different to the other series but equally just as good and definitely more adult. This is a unique story, although it’s a tale about mermaids it’s not the main point ...

I have reviewed this book before as a part of the Sirens and Scales Box Set, but now it is being released as an individual novel! I am so excited to have been able to re-read it, and I can't wait for book 2!Coral is a princess of her grandfather's kingdom. Her parents have passed away, and she is meant to marry her friend Kai. She wants to look forward to her marriage, but she knows that Kai will never love her because he is in love with her best...

Fantastic read. Well written with a great plot and characters. I was engrossed from start to finish. I can't wait to read book 2. Coral is a princess of her grandfather's kingdom. Her parents have passed away, and she is supposed to marry her friend Kai. She wants to be excited about her marriage, but she knows that Kai will never love her because he is in love with her best friend Meribel. On her wedding day, she runs away to the surface, scared...

A mythical read!Four sexy, shipwrecked divers... One mermaid princess running from her destiny...And a curse that threatens to destroy her only chance at the life she wants...So, normally I keep notes so I can write my reviews but this time, I got so engrossed in this story that I forgot about it and all my responsibilities. Of course, now I do not know what to say because this book was, simply put, breathtaking. A fresh take on the mermaid tale ...

This book is great! It’s exciting, unpredictable and just so much fun to read! The characters are all interesting and the mermaid lore is fascinating. I love the way it often feels like a Little Mermaid retelling for adults. My only issue is that book two isn’t out yet.

The Mermaid's Escape is a beautifully done reverse harem novel that is a twist on the Little Mermaid. Coral has lived her entire life under the ocean. She has been told that her grandfather had a powerful sea witch put a curse on their shoal. So that if any dared to go to the surface and the human world that they would only be able to survive for 5 days before they'd have to return or die. Coral longs to see what life is like above the water, but...

The Mermaid's Escape – Book 1 of the Siren Series, by Kellie McAllenThis book is a reverse harem book, you'll see that in several reviews, which is instead of a guy with multiple ladies, we have a gal with multiple guys. Sounds like it might be interesting right? The relationships between Coral and the guys was so tastefully done that the whole reverse harem was a non-factor thing for me. The love scene(s) were well written and not even a hint o...

The Mermaid’s Escape by Kellie McAllen is the first Reverse Harem story that I have read, and I must say....I really enjoyed it! I found Kellie’s mermaid tale original and exciting with a storyline that flawlessly sucked me in. It is the story of Coral, the mermaid princess who escapes her prearranged undersea wedding to a childhood friend who doesn’t love her. During her escape she save the lives of four men whose ship is sinking. Coral an...

I do not know what it is about Kellie McAllens books but I can not put them down. They suck you in so quickly that they easily become a one day read.I have never read a reverse harem novel before so I was a little hesitant going into this but I loved it.Coral is a mermaid trying to escape a life of obligation to her royal heritage. Forced to marry a man she does not love she seeks an escape and end up in a storm which washes her up on an island. ...

I received this ARC from the author for an honest review. I am not paid in anyway. So I went into this book with meh expectations. I am not the greatest fan of mermaid focused books. But I love reverse harem romance and I love some of Kellie McAllen's other books so I thought I could give this a chance! I came out of this book very surprised! I did not love it but I definitely thought it was better than I expected it to be! Coral is a pretty decen...

A HFN ending that leaves you wanting more! This book offers a fresh perspective of a mermaid, Coral, who chooses to go up on land (yes, it’s possible in this series) with four shipwrecked men. She struggles to communicate with them, but she can understand what they are thinking in their minds using something like telepathy. This book is fresh, fun, and interesting. Coral longs for a different life, not unlike many of us and she is able to change...

This is the 1st mermaid Reverse Harem I’ve read and I tell you what it’s absolutely fantastic. Coral panics on her wedding day and escapes to the surface, she saves 4 men from a sinking ship and she takes them to the nearest island. Coral can only last 5 days out of the water but she wants to know about the human world, the 4 sailor’s Gio, Jude, Avery and Liam try to teach Coral english and she falls for them just like her mother had loved ...

Let me start by saying this is not typically the type of story I read. I read it because I've read other books by Kellie McAllen and really enjoy her writing. She came through brilliantly with The Mermaid's Escape. I felt sorry for Coral. She had everything she could ever want except freedom to be true to herself. She lived in a gilded cage with her entire life planned out for her. By escaping she learned who she really was and what she truly wan...

I received a copy of this ARC and volunteered to review, and I'm glad I gave this story a chance. Out of the handful of Reverse Harem novels I've read to date, I can only think of one other one that I enjoyed as much as this book. I think what helps is that there's more substance between the characters than steamy scenes. You need to be able to see how her interactions with one guy impacts the others and the complications that are bound to come u...

This is the first in a series involving Coral, a Mermaid who has swam away from home on her wedding day. Essentially, she becomes stranded on an island with 4 men who have capsized their boat and waiting to be rescued. The story unfolds from there. This book explores the characters well and the storyline was not predictable at all. It involves some romance, action, drama and suspense. I absolutely enjoyed reading this. It was fascinating and I wa...

This is a different story. I liked it and can't wait to find out what happens with Coral and the guys. Coral was about to be married to a really nice merman who loves someone else. She just can't go through with it and runs away. She ends up on an island with four shipwrecked men. They are all really nice guys and they don't understand why she doesn't know about fire and other things. She is afraid to tell them that she is a mermaid. But, when th...

This new series from Kellie McAllen was not as I first expected. Initially I thought the story was a little mermaid meets stranded sailors, sweet young adult type story... but as the story progressed, it became more detailed and in depth. The story is intriguing and exciting as Coral learns and grows her knowledge of this new world and new relationships, and her attraction to the men she is with. The question is what will happen if and when they a...

This is the first book I have read by Kellie McAllen and I really enjoyed this interesting and different mermaid story. I love the concept that Coral cannot talk and must get to know the guys without really communicating in the conventional sense. This really gets the reader into what the guys are going through as they have to try and get her to understand! This is an interesting start to the series, which ended on a bit of a cliffhanger and made...

adventurous, riveting, entertaining, interestingI’m not really keen on this whole reverse harem hype. I’ve tried some books in this genre and find that I’m more of a traditional ‘one-boy-girl’. But I do love mermaids, and the blurb looked really enticing. Plus, I’ve read some previous books by McAllen and really liked them. So, I decided to give it a try. And: this book won me over! It was adventurous, riveting, entertaining, interest...

What a fun adventure! This princess is strong willed and brave, choosing a new world and a new life. And it turns out she’s a bit of a hero for her stranded new harem of interest. I enjoyed the different personalities woven into this story- still not sure which male character I like best. But I’m looking forward to more of this story and MC’s “ability” and adventure. Bring on the sequel! I received an ARC for an honest review.

Definitely something new, this was my first mermaid book and on top, mixed with reverse harem. A nice story with really nice characters, however a bit slow for me. Coral is a great heroine, she does everything she can to survive, learn and help her men. The guys seem great as well, however we don't learn too much about them. The ending is good, makes me want to know how the story proceeds.I reviewed an ARC copy of the book voluntarily.

First in the series, this book makes a great beginning! Coral is a mermaid set to wed a man she did not choose and decides on her walk down the aisle to escape. When she saves four human men, she sees a chance to escape the sea forever. This is a reverse harem plot, but relatively clean, which I like. Well written with a great plot and characters. Looking forward to book 2! I received a complimentary copy and freely give my honest review.
