Three Mages and a Margarita (The Guild Codex: Spellbound, #1) by Annette Marie

Three Mages and a Margarita (The Guild Codex: Spellbound, #1)

Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig.It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview — to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right?I expected to get thrown ou...

4.5 starsMagic guilds, Elemental mages and psychics and other magic people, strong sense of friendship and loyalty.....what does this remind me of?...Oh yeah.....Say hello to the more adult, urban fantasy version of Fairy Tail, one of my FAVORITE ANIMES OF ALL TIME. I mean Erza is even my profile pic. I don't know if the similarities are wishful thinking on my part or if the author took inspiration from Fairy Tail, but either way I was SO EXCITED...

4 StarsReview:*I received an ecopy of this book from the author. This has not influenced my review.*The blurb says this book is a fun, sassy, fast-paced urban fantasy, and I gotta say, that is actually a highly accurate description!Tori, our main character, was one of those heroines who is full of sass and attitude and runs her mouth off or does impulsive things even when she shouldn't, and that's normally a type of character I'm not fond of. But...

09/17/2018: Read for the second time! This book has been out for only three days and I have fully read it twice already and skimmed through it a third time. I love it!This review MAY contain spoilers. Read at your own risk. This book was a glorious adventure and it was just what I needed right now! Annette Marie has broken the mold and shattered my expectations yet again. Just when I think that she is super clever for coming up with imaginative, c...

find this review + others on my blog!---I think I've said this before, but whatever. I love Annette Marie's books and I'll read anything of hers at this point. Anything.I was ecstatic when Marie announced two new series, one of them being this one! I was just waiting for more info to come in—cover reveals, character reveals, blurbs, all that good stuff. And each new teaser just got me hyped up all the more. That being said, I was extremely satis...

There comes an author once in every while that every word they write is just pure magic on the page. Yes indeed! Annette Marie is one such author for me. Starting out a fresh new series in a whole new world after others have been firmly cemented in people's minds and hearts must be daunting for an author and I admit for a reader it is slightly nerve wracking too, will I like the new world/characters as much as the others? Whether you are a long t...

4.5 Stars - I loved this book... it was cute, funny, fluffy, and just what I needed on a lazy Sunday. The description says it's not reverse harem, but it is definitely similar. Lots of witty banter and flirting between Tori and the three hot male leads (guess that's why it needed a disclaimer). I can't wait for book 2!

*I was given an ARC for an honest review*OMG this was just soo good. Annette has done it again and gotten me hooked into a new series! Tori is a feisty redhead who gets herself into trouble. Her temper gets her fired from way too many jobs. Desperate she goes the Crow and Hammer for a simple bartender job. Well it wasn;t simple. She uncover a magical guild filled with things she never knew excited. With three mage hotties. Kai, Aaron, and Erza. T...

I received a free copy from Xpresso Book Tours and voluntarily reviewed it.Three Mages and a Margarita was a fun read. I've had some of this author's books on my to-read list for a while now, but this is the first book by her that I actually read. If you're looking for an enjoyable urban fantasy read this is definitely a good one to check out.Three Mages and Margarita is told from first person point of view from Tori's perspective. At the start o...

I absolutely adored this book! My favorite part of the entire book was the main character Tori. She isn’t supposed to be involved in this world because she is just human but she belongs in it. Tori says exactly what we wish we could say in real life to people who are rude and obnoxious. Annette comes up with most creative and funny insults I’ve ever heard. I’m going to edit my review with some of my favorites later 😂Another bonus to this...

I love everything that Annette Marie writes and yet again, she came out with another amazing book! Three Mages and A Margarita is the very first book in Annette's new series, The Guild Codex: SpellboundTori is a fun main character with the right balance of sassy, determination, and thoughtfulness. I received an ARC copy of this book by the author. I truly loved it and it was amazing. It starts off with the female lead; Tori at her job an it was so funny i was oh my god if that happened then it would be very bad but since it's in a book then it's fine its fine with me. After Tori was fired, she goes home and then goes out the next day for a job and then gets hit by a flier after looking at it she sees three jobs interviews and she goes to t...

Ok, I have to admit something: I generally acquire many books and don’t read them. Not a surprise for a huge reader like me. Why am I mentioning that? Well, I have several of this author’s books and have never read them. After reading this book, I deeply, deeply regret that. This book was excellent, one that is the best I’ve read in a while! Don’t get me wrong; I’ve loved the books I’ve read recently. This one is a step above: well-wr...

I received a free copy for an honest review. I have been reading so many indies lately, and I am so glad to get to say that Three Mages and a Margarita was not a disappointment and were such a fun read for me. I loved the mages, the worldbuilding, and most of all, I love Tori so much.I’m really surprised about this because I would think that at this point, I would be sick of bad-ass heroines narrations, but Tori was a huge reason why this story...

Where can a regular girl get a job, even if she does have a tiny temper? lol! Tori keeps on trying, even when she winds up at a unique club as a bartender. Annette Marie is a new author to me. She writes like one of my favorite urban fantasy authors, Linsey Hall, which is a huge compliment. This story is fast-paced, funny, romantic, thrilling, creative, and all around, a great read. Anytime you throw three gorgeous men (mages, in this case) toget...

This was a great start to the series! Tori can't keep a job but a paper flying in her face takes her to The Crow and Hammer. She definitely lives up to her red hair with her personality. Meeting Aaron, Ezra and Kai and watching how the four of them take on the danger surrounding them was entertaining and I can't wait for more.

I LOVE the guilds thing. And the characters are great, too. It really reminds me of Fairy Tail, but this is all its own, of course. The plot was action packed and exciting. I laughed a lot, and the magic was interesting. Check this out if you're a fan of urban fantasy.

4.5, but I'm going to round up. This is one of those books that just blew by and left you wanting more. There were interesting characters, a lot of action and suspense, and a tiny bit of romance. Plot: Fired from the last in a string of jobs, Tori finds work as the bartender of an off the wall establishment. In the midst of a disastrous first night, she realizes that the bar is actually a guild, and there's a secret magical world she knows nothin...

Tori has issues keeping her temper in check long enough to earn a pay check and when she’s fired once again, she wanders into the shady side of town looking for work. Thankfully for her, she finds a place that appreciates her aggression, too bad there’s more to the crowd she’s serving than meets the eye.Okay before we start, I just have to say, I’m really glad this isn’t a reverse-harem series as I’m not overly keen on those. That sai...

If I could give 5 gazillion stars to this book, I would.Every book that Annette Marie writes is absolute heaven. I really don't know how she does it.I fell in love with the characters, the plot, everything. Are you sure this is not a RH book? Because I would be so down with that. How can you make a poor girl choose between those three hunks. Aeron, Kai and Ezra are my new book boyfriends and I call DIBS. So everyone, hands off.I really could imagi...

I love Annette Marie's books! I love her characters, world building and speedy plots; so I was happy to be offered a chance to read Three Mages and a Margarita in advance for an honest review. Marie's created an all new world (one very similar to our own, but where magic is real), and a fun new kick-ass heroine. I enjoyed Tori, and her spunk! I also really liked the three titular mages. What's not to like in three hot guys who take a misfit in an...

I have loved Annette Marie's writing since I read the first book of the Steel and Stone series. Her books grab you by the throat and yank you right into the story. "Three Mages and a Margarita" is no exception even though it a more light-hearted and funnier tale than her previous books.Following a completely human girl, who has a hot temper, into a world of magic-users, the moments are often laugh-aloud funny. I found myself grinning through half...

Annette Marie is one of my favorite authors for a reason! I love every book she puts out. I never find myself having to skim simply because her world/ character builds are top notch. Annette‘s covers are what drew me to her years ago. This cover is no different! Let’s face it, it’s freakin beautiful! The colors pop and tori looks badass.I didn’t want to put this book down- I was honestly pissed life was coming between us. Tori was amazing...

It's been awhile since I've had this much outstanding fun reading a UF book fraught with perilous danger, excitement, and good old character banter. I will admit, I was slightly hesitant to read this book as it was written in first person (the author normally writes in third). But forgive me, I have SINNED. I should have known Annette Marie could do no wrong as she truly is a phenomenal writer. She is a queen of writing fantastic, kickass fight sc...
