His True Queen was one of my most highly anticipated sequels of this year and OOOOH MY GOD did it blow all of my expectations to smithereens. This follow up was everything I never could've possibly predicted, a sequel full of sweet romance, royally delicious drama, jaw dropping scandal, and heart wrenching impossibility. And it's all illustrated so vividly through what, I swear, is Jodi Ellen Malpas' most stunning writing to date. This is not a ...

The craziness that happened had me needing this book. Adeline has had to get her head around a lot and her life has changed so much since the last book. OH MY GOD! I have cried while reading books and I've laughed, both of which I did while reading this book, but I have never, ever, yelled at my kindle and the characters before. At least not in my recollection, until now. And let me tell you whoever I was yelling at and pissed off with, they deserved it. Most importantly I LOVED this book.Adeline and Josh won my heart and each others in The Controversial Princess. Their love story was epic and se...

Boy oh boy what a ride! Smoke and Mirrors is a very appropriate name for this duet! It’s hard to believe that this book topped the first one but just wow. Whilst it was a little slower to start, the tension builds when so many secrets are uncovered along the way. There is a lot of drama, misunderstandings and so much scorching hot chemistry throughout the book, and the last 30% is absolutely explosive. An excellent read, superbly written. I am ...

Wow wow wow. After the shocking ending to The Controversial Princess I like many people was eager to read this concluding piece of the duet. There is many many secrets in this royal family, all hidden behind smoke and mirrors. Some secrets are so well buried they are hard to discover. But discover them Adeline does. And boy are they good!!! This book was incredible and didn't disappoint me at all. It kept me guessing right towards the end and even...

This book is an amazing love story between Josh and Adeline. These two people go through so many struggles in their relationship but their love stands true. I couldn't read this book quick enough, the more you read the more you had to read. It is such a great book and I hate to see this story end. These two people are the perfect example of true love.I received this book from Net Galley for an honest review.

I just spent 16 + hours in the Smoke & Mirrors world that Jodi Ellen Malpas created!! W-O-W!! I am having such major book hangover!!I have been trying to think through how best to describe this book… I feel like this was the best written book that takes place in England that I have read in a long time. Because JEM is from England, her very best came out with this duet.I would describe this book as Megan Markle meets the royal family with a twis...

The plot of the entire second book is a giant spoiler of what happens in the first. The second title picks up days after the events at the end of the first, so there are no spoilers of the second book in this review...but there are spoilers of the first one.Josh and Adeline. This book is one of the best things your going to read this year! With such a crazy bad cliffhanger being at the end of The Controversial Princess I didn't think that Jodi could outshine that book with this His True Queen the concluding part of the (Smoke & Mirrors) duet, but I'm telling you now I just didn't know how totally wrong I could be, this has left me gobsmacked. 5+ StarsOkay, hands down, this is one of my favorite reads of the year. I could not wait to dive into this book and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I could not stop reading; I wanted to be in Josh and Adeline’s world. The chemistry these two had was off the charts; it was raw, it was sweet at times, it was hot as hell and every moment you felt the connection. The story was more than a love story, it was full of lies, deceit, angst and s...

His True Queen continues straight on from the shock ending of The Controversial Princess so it's best to read that book first, also it's a wonderful book and this follow up is as good if not better....okay to be honest this one is fantastic.Adeline now finds herself Queen with all the protocols and expectations her role entails and the gilded cage she has entered makes all the previous difficulties of her relationship with Josh Jameson a Hollywoo...

His True Queen, second book in the Smoke and Mirrors starts right where we left off in the first book 'The Controversial Princess'.. I actually felt so weird about Adeline falling for Josh as i really didnt get the feel of their insta love or how a princess just submitted herself to a hollywood star at their first meet without any inhibitions..However, i liked the whole set up and ending of the first book!!!Adeline, the controversial Princess end...
