Sin & Chocolate (Demigod of San Francisco, #1) by K.F. Breene

Sin & Chocolate (Demigod of San Francisco, #1)

Some people are ordained for greatness… Those people usually have a lot of drama in their life. Drama I happily do without. I live in a forgotten corner of nowhere for a reason: there is safety in anonymity. I have enough problems just trying to get by. But when Kieran, a sinfully sexy demigod at the pinnacle of power, crashes into my life, suddenly my whole world is turned upside down. He’s harboring a deadly secret, one that could destroy a...

Let me say this first, I love Ms. Breene’s other books. But this one? Uhm..How to explain it, if you love fantasy or epic fantasy story. You probably know they have tons of pages! Average between 600 - 1000 pages each book. And the first 100 - 200 pages, usually very annoying because the author tried to introduce so many characters and story setting in it, you just put up with it and continue to read because you knew is going to get better later ...

In a world that's split between people who have magic and those that don't there is a lot of distrust between the two groups and those who fall between the cracks struggle to survive. Alexis has magic but her ability to see and talk to ghosts isn't really a money maker so she works whatever odd job she can find to make ends meet. It doesn't help that she has two teenage wards to take care of, Mordecai, who is a shapeshifter with a serious illness...

Wow, This Is A Powerful & Spirited 4.5 Star Read!! 🌟🍀Ok, so we have 'sort of' single Mum Alexis. She is magical although due to its type she doesn't like using it, she sees ghosts and can help them cross over!😳 Her Mum always taught her to hide as much about herself & her magic as possible, so she did and it has become a habit to hide in the cracks between the magical & human communities. She is the Guardian to two teens - Mordecai & Dais...

Wow! What an amazing story. 💖💖💖💖💖The S&C story was perfect. I love meeting so many new characters and seeing a new world unfold within the pages. The author built the world up with the perfect amount of details so that you get a pretty good picture of everything but she still left enough unsaid so that the reader is surprised in the next book. This is a unique, original story unlike any I've read before. I'm especially fond of the ...

SIN & CHOCOLATE by K.F. BREENE is book One in the Demigod of San Francisco series. This is the story of Kieran and Alexis. Alexis has magical powers that her mother had her keep secret so it is second nature to keep that under wraps. Alexis also has become a 'mother' to Mordecai & Daisy. Mordecai & Daisy haven't had a great life until the became a part of Alexis life. Each now are very close but there are still struggles with money and the need f...

Hot! Hot! Hot!I will admit I went into this book blind. I hadn’t read any blurbs and wasn’t sure what the plot was, but knowing this author’s works I had high expectations. She did not fail me. Right from the start I loved Alexis. We are given a heroine who is down on her luck but she doesn’t let that crush her. Enter one devastatingly handsome demigod with stalker tendencies and things start to get hot. Kieran is drawn to Alexis because ...

Sin and Chocolate is just so very delicious. Alexis is a strong, sassy, kind, and resilient woman and Kieran is just so crazy tempting. Though both have many issues to figure out between them, the chemistry is hot!! It will be so satisfying when they finally succumb to it. Daisy and Mordecai are wonderful, and the family bond is fun and interesting. Overall, K.F. Breene keeps putting out incredible stories that always seem to be my favorite while...

This book was so good. Alexis, a magical user who is at the bottom of the magic totem pole, lives with her “kids”, Daisy and Mordecai. Daisy, a foster kid who has been abused through her lifetime, and Mordecai, a shifter who was disowned by his pack and is sick, along with Alexis, are a fantastic bunch of characters. Kieran, a Demigod, is searching for a way to set his mother free in the afterlife. This story is so good, you won’t want to p...

I always fail to express how amazing K.F. Breene’s stories are. She is one of my absolute go to authors and everything she writes is reading gold! I am just not worthy but I will try. “If we don’t push through our fear, we will never learn what it means to achieve true success.”This quote from Sin & Chocolate pretty much sums up each and every one of K.F. Breene’s stories and their resilient, tough, independent female leads. They are al...

WOW! JUST WOW!K.F. Breene has done it again! This is going to be a great series. I absolutely loved this book. It was funny (laugh out loud kind of funny) and sexy. The characters are so well written, I love them all. Alexis is smart, sassy and very funny. I love that she will not let anything get her down or anyone boss her around. Mordecai and Daisy (her wards) are really wonderful characters that sometimes act like Alexis’ conscience to try ...

It has been a while since I have written a review, and it is not because I have not been reading. I have been dealing with change and my own issues. However, I felt the need after diving into the world builds of K.F. Breene for the last year to express and share my feelings on her latest book, Sin & Chocolate, a first in a new series. K.F. Breene has a unique ability to not only weave a world build with words, but also through her fanbase. She li...

A great start to a brand new series! I was hooked from the very first page. This book has everything that you’d want in a paranormal romance. I absolutely loved the characters, especially the secondary characters! Mordicai and Daisy were hilarious, especially Daisy with her Lord of the Rings references!! I can’t wait for book 2!

The start of another fantastic PNR series from K.F. Breene, set in a world of magic and non-magic users ruled by Valens the Demigod of San Francisco, where the magic ones are tested and measured on a scale to see how strong their power is and what type of magic they possess, level 5 being the highest human magic wielder power. Magic and non-magic users live separately, with the non-magic ones struggling to get by on a daily basis.Alexis is a magi...

I'm in love!I'm tired from not getting any sleep (couldn't put the book down); I have a killer book hangover (thanks a lot K.F.!); and I have a new book boyfriend. Scratch that, I have a new series obsession. Those of you who have been with me from the beginning, remember how crazy I was about Chosen? Well, MOVE OVER SHANTI. I'm DYING inside knowing the next book in this series won't be out for a few more months. MONTHS. It's ok though... I can ha...

First in new seriesAlexis is living under the radar. Taught by her mother to keep a low profile...for her safety and that of her inherited wards..Mordacai a insightful but seriously sickly shifter and Daisy a hard talking punk ass girl. As someone who can communicate with spirits she has the lowest of ‘ratings’ on the magic scale... and she is happy with that..it makes lying to the magic assessors so much easier..But after an encounter with a...

I feel like I don't have adequate words to say how simply amazing this book isWhy have I left it so long since I last read a KF Breene book? This was fast paced, had amazing world building, great characters, humour, steam (even if it was frustrated sexual tension!), intrigue and some very heart touching moments. He tossed the packet on the table angrily. "He's trying to buy her.""Obviously. But wow." Daisy blew out a breath. "He thinks she's wort...

Great read! Love being in this author’s magical worlds!I’m so excited to be back in one of KF Breene’s magical worlds. Sin & Chocolate was so entertaining and a page turner. The characters were awesome. Alexis was a strong, independent, but has no problem taking handouts LOL, sassy, sarcastic, blunt, hilarious woman. Her wards were a great addition and brought many comical conversations between them all. I really liked Mordecai and I’m ho...

Alexis is a woman with very contemporary issues, but they exist in a magical world set in San Francisco. Because she tested as low magic she doesn’t qualify for some perks available to people with high magical ability. She works in low wage jobs in a gray area between magic and human lives. She has poor health care that won’t pay for magic related stuff. She’s responsible for two teens, Daisy, a human, and Mordecai, a half shifter with medi...

What a new and interesting world K.F. Breene has created once again. The characters are her trademark headstrong, powerful, witty, and loudmouthed. Their powers though are very different than characters in her other worlds. This made the book quite unpredictable and intriguing to read. Alexis, the female lead, is very different than Breene's other female leads which is what drew me in. Although they all have the standard Breene snark, she's creat...

From the beginning, this book grabs you and hangs on to the very end. K.F. Breene introduces us to a wonderful take on a 21st century version of San Francisco where magical and non-magical people live mostly in separate sections of the city or the “slum-like” buffer zone between. Meet Alexis, the heroine with a magical talent she preferes not to discuss. She’s lived so long under the radar in there s buffer zone that even her wards aren’t...

Amazing first entry into a magical new world! The paranormal romance genre is definitely a flooded one, but this new story by K.F. Breene totally stands out from the crowd. Alexis is one of the magical beings living in San Francisco. In this version of the world, the magical beings are out in the open and have their own part of town. The non magical humans, or Chesters, have their own part as well and Alexis lives in the cracks between. She has ta...

K.F Breene has done it again, I feel like this series brings together all the amazing parts and styles of her previous amazing works (DDVN, The Darkness Series and The Warrior Chronicles). She brings together a wonderful world full of amazing and interesting characters that I cannot wait till get better acquainted with. Even the side characters draw me in and hopeful for side stories. The world building brings you in and doesn’t let go, you’r...

I’m not going to bore you with a summary of the book; we all have eyes and can read the blurb ourselves. I’m just going to jump into the meat of this book, which I loved. I’m a sucker for a strong independent heroines and Alexis fits that bill nicely. She is snarky, sarcastic, and ferociously loyal and protective. She doesn’t need a man (or a demigod) to save her. I’m slightly annoyed with the fashion drooling in the first chapter but t...

I devoured this book! Alexis is not perfect and doesn’t pretend to be. She is trying to scrape out a life for herself and the teenagers she has “adopted” into her life to raise. Which can be extremely difficult when one of them is ill, and the other one doesn’t exist on paper. In a world where magic users hold all of the power, corruption is the norm. Alexis is resilient and doesn’t let her circumstances get her down, her moto is “dre...

The way the author creates a character that you instantly connect with and care about is one of the reasons why she is amazing at writing books. The main character in this book is someone you immediately connect with. She is real, funny, and has emotions that we have all felt. She has a magical talent that I wish I had, I think, seeing dead people, ghost, might be fun. Alexis has taken in two teenagers, a girl who has had a rough life but still h...

FUN!That's exactly what this book is: a fun, captivating, light hearted story of a young woman fighting for a better life for herself and her adorable, quirky protegee teenage misfits. Their struggle is wrapped in a well-written package of hilarious situations and witty conversations that will make you smile and laugh out loud despite the bad hands these characters have been dealt. The plot moves slightly slower than we're used to by KF Breene's o...

Sin & Chocolate (Demigod of San Francisco, #1) by K.F. Breene is as expected another winner and a wonderful paranormal romance that is so deliciously sinful. K.F. does PNR like no other and I have high expectations that she continually exceeds. I have not read one story that she has written that I have not loved and has not wowed me. I love seeing new worlds coming to life and meeting new characters and with K.F.’s wordsmithing she lets you see...
