The Virgin Proxy (Conquerors #2)

When the Normans conquered England, Deorwynn lost almost everything, including her family. Only one beloved brother survives. After spending fifteen years in a grim convent, punished for every sinful thought, Deorwynn can withstand anything. But nothing, she soon learns, could prepare her for falling in love. 3.5 Stars. This was the first story in the series - I read the second story first but it didn't matter. I really like the way Georgia Fox writes. It moves quickly and very interestingly. Lady Sibilia is to be married, however, she is not a virgin and in fact is already pregnant. She devises a plan for another to take her place on the wedding night. Deorwynn is a virgin and sees this as an opportunity to escape the convent. She is of noble heritag...

Originally posted at: http://whippedcream2.blogspot.com/201...What a refreshing story! Deorwynn, the main character, is nothing like any other female heroine. She’s naughty, feisty, saucy, with a great sense of curiosity and daring. He’s in his twenties and life for him is all about...

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is an erotica based story that just so happens to make it across the 100+ page mark. This is a short story that manages to have more of a plot line to it than others. This story also reminds me of another story "Bound by Honour" except that one was suppose to lead along the fairy tale "Robin Hood" and this is solely on the aspect of being Historical in nature. Where the first failed to sate my senses with this s...

Partial review follows. To read my full review, please visit: http://tbqspersonalbookpalace.blogspo...The Conqueror's series continues with The Virgin Proxy, which carries on Georgia Fox's tradition of wickedly spicy novellas with a menage twist! However, where as book one seemed a bit more hurried and focused more on the (very heated) sex between the characters, TVP lingers more on the budding relationship and a longer storyline.Deorwynn has liv...

Deorwynn of wexford has lived in the covent since she was 6 and always caused trouble. She never listened and believed she would not die in this covent a virgin. She was going to escape and find a man because she had nothing to give to a man because her land was taken away by the Norman swine as she called them. Sybilia another girl in the covent was betrothed to an arrogant Norman Lord as the stories were told of him. But this lord requested tha...

This is the book you pick up if you like a little medieval history woven in with your scorching hot romance. The premise had me curious so I got this. It was a light romp in some ways, but spent a great deal of time with the hero and heroine hot and heavy.Deorwynn has been told by the nuns that now that her father is dead and there is no hope of a husband she must take her vows. The trouble is that Deorwynn is a feisty and lusty Saxon lady in the...

Enter Contest Here: http://thetbrpile.weebly.com/1/post/2...There is something to be said for a opinionate wench, especially in a historical romance. Deorwynn is no simpering woman to obey the commands of a man, while as a woman she may not have a lot of choices she has enough and she’ll make them work for her. She never whines about her fate but instead takes what fate gives her and enjoys her life to the best of her ability.Guy is like most m...

I'm not sure where to start on this HR novella. I really thought from the premise that I was going to like this book. Unfortunately, it just didn't work for me. Quite honestly the "Hero" was a childish, selfish, egotistical, jerk from beginning to end. I didn't care for him in the slightest and the heroine really didn't garner any sympathy from me at all. Maybe if the story had been longer the author would have been able to humanize these charact...

The positive points:The romance was fiery, showcasing the wildness of both the hero and the heroine. Their physical attraction was clear, and Georgia Fox's descriptions of their sex were varied and vivid, with period-appropriate terminology which added to the atmosphere. The pacing was strong, and the book did not flag. The ending was satisfying, with Deorwynn well-settled into her new life, enjoying her new love. The growth of Guy was equally en...

Oh My Gosh, this book was awesome. It was romantic, sweet, erotic and funny all rolled into one. Georgia Fox really out did herself on this book and I love the cover. I enjoyed reading the back and forth banter between to the two characters and them trying to figure out who knew what and which lies to keep up with. The author also leaves little mysteries throughout the story that all comes together very nicely towards the end. Watching the lies a...

4 1/2 Stars ~ We met Deorwynn in The Ever Knight, she was Jisella's best friend in the convent. The nuns had tried to crush her spirit but they'd failed. There's something about Guy that has her forgetting her place and she constantly challenges him. Guy is smitten with her, though he doesn't realize it until his best friend starts to show interest in her. Deorwynn and Guy have such strong personalities. It was fun reading their verbal sparring a...

There was no instant love but instead an instant dislike that was confused by the electricity arcing between Deorwynn and Guy. Needless to say this made for some really good and fun dialogue. Everything was well paced even the passion, never allowing you to get bored but not going so fast that you get thrown out of the plot. I was so enthralled with this book and the characters that I hated to see it end. I look forward to the next book involving...

Outstanding historical romance. Have an ice pack handy for your e-reader or it may melt. This is one erotic read.Heroine Deorwynn agrees to step in for a friend on her wedding night to one of the ruling Norman conquerers Guy Devaux , as she is a virgin, to escape the monotonous misery of living in a convent. Her plans to go free after the wedding night fall apart. Devaux is onto the scheme. This is a fun and fast read, and you will wonder how Deor...

I love Deorwynn!!such a funny character, she was a hellion and even with all her bravado she was sweet. Guy Devaux was surprising…. At the beginning I thought he was way older but as the story unravels we discover he’s young and that youth is what makes him act like a brute. I hated the Norman chick “what-ever her name is” , but thanks to her we got a funny sexy story !

4.5 out of 5. This is really a story that is in the style of the old English historicals that were really popular several decades ago and which are now making a comeback. The ancient angers that kept Saxons and Normans apart for generations are alive and well in this story. It is a tale that is full of color and pagentry, mixtures of kindness and cold-hearted brutality, loyalty and betrayal, goodness and greed. It is the story of a woman whose he...

The Virgin Proxy by Georgia FoxWhat a wonderful story. It’s a first for me by this author but by far not the last. I really enjoyed her writing style and it was so easy to read. There was a bit of slap and tickle in the story…literally. The characters were so funny and by far the best lines in the story… “I didn’t do it. It wasn’t me” followed by the word “bubbies”.I enjoy reading about this time period which as around 1081. The...

I can't understand how anyone enjoyed this. I fought myself for the entirety of reading this book and still could not finish. When I read a book like this, with a main male character that behaves so disgustingly, I often wonder if the author would really enjoy a guy treating them like this because I would not and I don't read to find jerks. I read to get away from them. The world is already full of them. This was my first book by this author and I...

Deorwynn has been Living in a convent since she was six, where she was placed by her father as he went to war. Now 15 years later she take her virginity in order to leave the convent and hopefully can get her brother released from the prison. She is giving her virginity up as Sybilia is about to wed Guy Devaux, and he is expecting a virgin on his wedding nights which she is not. Sexist, predictable and cheesy, but a slightly different setting and setup than I am was familiar with. The romance build up took too long and then bam, way too fast. He kept treating her like crap and we're supposed to be impressed that he accepted her talking back in the way he wouldn't accept it from anyone else. but that's not what I read this crap for. The sex scenes were okay but way too short and just not enough emotion in them for me. If ...

I've read this before, and now that I'm not squeamish with some of the scenes, I can now enjoy more the story. I like these type of stories, where the female have some kind of unrequited love but later finds out that the guy loves him also. Guy's debauchery is somehow off-putting at some parts, but their first night with Deorwynn is super hot. Sylvia?'s treachery isn't solve at this story and I would like her to be punished for her devious plans....

Ms. Georgia Fox has done it again!!! This is the 2nd installment on her series, and it did NOT disappoint! Cold showers will once again be in your future while reading this book. The story itself was well written and easy to follow even being that it is set in a different era. I found myself connected to heroine and hero through descriptive writing from the author. Want a book that makes you sizzle? Read this one!

If you like your historical setting to be fake, this may be the novella for you. Why writing an historical, if you are not using historical facts is something I'm not sure I understand, though :)The presence of quite a confused hero and a weird menage add to the strange reading experience. I'm not sure what this book wanted to be, historical, romance, erotica, without being exactly any of those.

Romance it is pretty much not...I still don't get where they fell in love, cuz all I noticed is instant lust...And the last part, where she was testing him and he was testing himself, I really don't get how that proved that he loves her.. Really, he sees someone else going at it with her, caring only about whether she'll get pregnant from that and pufff we see he loves her?Something is wrong with that logic.. but than again, I never got the maneg...

This was more fun than I expected. Usually, the whole Norman/Saxon theme is wrought with more violence than humor and sass. A lot of smexy action going on including some voyeurism and spanking in this entertaining gem. Plus there were a bunch of subtle elements of the time that were well done and unobtrusive.

This was a surprisingly good historical smutlet. Lots of steamy sexiness, and fairly well-written. I just wish there'd been some threesome action - it felt like it was going in that direction, but never quite did.
