When I finished the last chapter of Ouran High School Host Club (a manga that will now be referred to as ‘Ouran‘), I started giggling like an idiot and crying like a baby. Giggling because the series is just too darn funny and crying BECAUSE IT WAS OVER! Ouran is unlike any shojo I have ever read, and after reading the manga through the wee hours of the night, spending time with the wonderful characters, it’s really hard to watch the story ...

All in all, I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH THIS REREAD BROUGHT NOSTALGIA, FEELS, FLUTTERS, AND LAUGHS ALL AROUND. I ESPECIALLY ENJOYED THE FAMILY THEME/ASEPCT IMMERSED IN THIS SERIES.P.S. Here's just something funny relating to OHSHC: CLICK

What is there to say? OHSHC is a modern classic of genderbent shoujo. It managed to twist the common tropes of the genderbent genre, while making interesting comments on the interplay of public and personal identity. It's not perfect, but I can't say that I don't consider it to be one of the best shoujo series of all time. I still remember crying at the end, and being punch-drunk happy at the somewhat too perfect ending. Sometimes you need someth...

A loving parody of the shoujo manga genre, cliches, and tropes it imitations. Intelligent, witty, and satirical without being cruel. Likable, complex characters who grow and change for the better over the series. It has heart, it has laughs, and it has love. What more can we want?

Maybe 4.5 stars? This is such an entertaining story about friendship and family. And it's hilarious. I have to admit that I was confused by some parts, though.

The book Ouran High School Host Club by Bisco Hatori is, in one word, AMAZING! It has everything; a secret identity (sort of :), comedy, those "awwwwww!" moments, those "AHA!" moments, those very suspenseful moments everything needs, devil twins, a mini time bomb, a silent samurai, the devil himself (in the form of the vice president), an idiot president, a monotone girl pretending to be a boy so that she can work to pay back 8 million yen, and a...

Ten-Second Review: A shojo manga with lots of energy and snuggable characters that is unlike most manga in the shojo genre. A must-read for any manga-fan, or just a person who wants to start reading manga.More-Than-Ten-Second Review:When I first found Ouran Highschool Host Club, I was struck with an immediate feeling of love. I know, it’s a little cheesy, but I really did feel that. And when I started reading the manga, I fell even deeper in lo...

Our heroine, Haruhi (henceforth referred to as “commoner”), was accepted in Ouran -a high school for the richest kid in Japan- on a scholarship. The poor commoner enters Ouran wearing her dad's old uniform and a short boyish haircut and quickly gets lost in the ridiculously huge Ouran campus. A chance encounter with 6 of the most rich and handsome boys of Ouran, leads her to join the Host club and work in entertaining the rich, bored girls of...

This manga is so much better than its description will have you believe. Yes, it has a tad bit of shoujo clichés, but there are a lot of elements that are different. It is hilarious in the beginning. Somewhere in the middle the humor starts to fade and the plot drags on. Towards the end, there is some drama, but it's not the kind that makes your eyes roll, it's the kind that makes you look forward to how the story will end. After a long time, I...

This series is amazing, from start to finish. It's hilarious with a ton of perfectly executed 4th wall jokes, witty one-liners, slapstick. But, it also takes a pause every once-in-a-while for some character development and drama that never feels forced or out of place. This series ability to make all of these components work so well together and stay balanced is probably due to its excellent and eclectic cast. They do fall into the character trop...

Hilarious and lightThis series is fantastic! it is hilarious and full of enjoyable moments. I especially enjoy the budding relationship between Haruhi and the other characters in the Manga. It is full of whimsical moments and both connected and stand-alone stories that show that a story doesn't have to be dark and brooding to be interesting. Awesome Manga, Gorgeous Art, great stories.

Ouran High School Host Club explores the lives of a group of high schoolers. Captivating, hilarious, and at times surprising, this series will keep your attention until the very end. This series follows the life of Haruhi, a poor girl attending a fancy private school on scholarship, humorously describing the perils faced when one is thrown into a drastically different situation.

Oh my god, that last volume had me in stitches, the brilliant Ouran feel was back once more with thte great timing, and the great humour, now with extra sparkles and over the top shoujo slash pages, I'm not sure if it was worth getting through the sad volumes for this, but it was a great ending to a great series :) I definitely closed it with a goofy smile on my face X3

Despite the ridiculousness of the premise, I fell in love with every single plot-point and character in the story. I've maybe never laughed so much on public transport. It's a silly-but-clever story with a lot of heart, and I'm fairly desolate at the thought that it's over.

I watched the anime before reading these, and although I liked both I do think that the manga is defiantly better, you learn more about the characters backstory and theres more plots than the anime has
