It’s finally time to say, “I do!” As long as I can keep my momout of jail long enough to get her to the ceremony….With her wedding just 2 weeks away the last thing Abby Knight needs is for anything else to go wrong. The cooler in her shop is leaking all over the floor and she knows it will be an expensive part that needs to be fixed, her glands are swollen and it looks like she is getting a rash, her preggers cousin is “rehearsing her p...

Seed No Evil is the 14th book in this wonderful series by Kate Collins. I always enjoy going back to New Chapel and visiting with my friends at the flower shop. Things are rather hectic this time, as Abby and Marco's wedding is less than two weeks away. When Abby gets a call from her mother saying that she is at the police department and needs a ride home, Abby is wondering if her wedding would go on.Abby's mom was working alone at the animal she...

What could be lovelier than living in a beautifully quaint small town and owning your own Flower Shop? But wait, there is even more to embellish Abby Knight's peaceful and beautiful life; the oh-so-handsome Marco Salvare, local P.I. and business owner who just happens to be Abby's fiance. With only two weeks to the wedding and a sudden horrible death where Abby's mother volunteers at an animal shelter, dark clouds seem to threaten this awaited un...

I hate to say what I am going to but really I have to. This is the 14th book in a series of books. There is a 15th planned. Ok fine but honestly when will the story EVER end!!! I am to that point...I have loved these books and look forward to when they come out but after this one I may wait a bit before I jump to buy it. The reason? First off these books take place in a small town or it is described as a small town. So far there have been 14 murd...

I didn't like this book as much as others in the series. The character of Abby was very annoying in it. It had a similar vibe to the book where she staged the protest against the dairy farm, and when she gets on her high horse she's not a likeable character. Curious to see how the series will play out now that she is married, since there are so few cozies with a married female lead.

A 3 1/2 star read -- I haven't read these books in order, so this one was good to get because it helped me understand a few things in later books. I liked these books better in the beginning, and don't feel like they improve in terms of character growth. Some of the mystery/stories are better than others, a bit hit or miss. Still, cozy series aren't really known for character growth and in-depth understanding of what makes a character tick. I fin...

Loved, Loved, Loved this book!! Marco and Abby get better with each book! They work well together as PI's and in real life too. Marco went above and beyond what I thought he should do for Abby to make their wedding perfect. The mystery was good too. Can't wait to see what's in store for these two next!

Finally after taking a year's break since I read the last book I started this one. It's about time that the wedding happened, and I loved the fact that they got to keep Seedy. I plan to read the next book soon.

The wedding that I have been waiting and reading of for the past months, years...is coming up! Abby Knight and Marco Salvare are due to marry in a fortnight (as my Mum said,) unless Abby's mother's arrest cramps the ceremony. What? Well, you see Mrs. Knight found a body and so she is suspect number one for the murder of a disliked woman at the animal shelter she volunteers for.Abby Knight is the owner of Bloomer's Flower Shop a floral/Victorian t...

Seed No Evil is the latest in the Flower Shop Mysteries by Kate Collins. I have loved the adventures of Abby Knight and her now soon-to-be-husband Marco Salvare from the beginning. The series usually has a nice mystery, plenty of characters that are fun to read, and Abby's love life has progressed nicely. I am a big fan of series that allow the characters to change and grow. Another thing I like about this series is that it's not always the main ...

Cozy mysteries are a fun and easy read and I an usually finish them in a couple days. This autumn has been really busy for me with travel and a lot of distraction and unfortunately I haven't had as much time for reading as I usually do. Usually when I can't read much every day I will lose interest in a story but Kate Collins' new cozy from her Flower Shop series did not lose my attention even when I didn't read more than a chapter every day or tw...

I always like when a cozy mystery has enough viable suspects to keep me guessing all the way till the end and this book definitely did not disappoint on that front. While I did not get the sense of urgency alluded to on the back cover in regards to Abby's mom being a suspect in this murder (she is only down at the station briefly and doesn't have enough of a relationship with the victim to seem like a remotely plausible suspect) the supporting ch...

This one started out slow for me and I was to the point of asking myself why I was continuing on with this series when it all started to click for me and I found myself quite engrossed for the last half. All the engaging characters are around for this one, including Jillian, who hasn't managed to acquire any new brain cells. The titles and authors of some of the books she was reading made me chuckle, though. Mom was more real in this book and I en...

I started to give this book 3 stars, but then decided to up it to 4 stars. Ideally, I'd like to have given it 3 1/2 stars. I generally reserve 4 stars for a book with a much heavier subject or plot. But this was certainly a book that is a cut above a normal cozy mystery. So while this is basically a cozy mystery, it was a very well written one. It had a story with some good twists and turns, and the series has always had good characters. And this ...

It is a shame, that for the wedding day of Abby, this book is not up to par. The series has always been hit and miss for me. Sometimes they gain 4 or 5 stars. Other times they usually score two. I simply don't know how it so spectacularly fails to capture my admiration. Many of the followers of the series tend to find the books equally good. This time, I can pinpoint why I didn't buy into the story. It was not until after halfway through the book...

Abby and Marco's wedding date is only two weeks away and the one sure thing that can keep her from getting the wedding jitters is a good investigation. When the director of a no-kill animal shelter is found murdered and Abby's mother fingered as the prime suspect, Abby and Marco need to prove her innocence before they can say 'I Do' and leave on their honeymoon. Amidst twists and turns, lies and cover-ups, and a slump in business, Abby works alon...

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by ...

This installment has to be the best of the series so far. Abby is headed down the aisle instead of debating whether or not she wants to marry Marco, but of course, the most ridiculous things imaginable go wrong. Unlike her engagement party, Abby doesn't try to control the crisis and unlike in earlier books, she isn't trying to compete with or circumvent Marco in the investigation. Even the resolution of the crime has a certain laissez-faire attit...

Once again, I started a new series with the most recent book. LOL I won this one and had never heard of this series previously. I loved it. As an animal rights activist and vegetarian, I was immediately intrigued by the subject matter revolving around a no-kill shelter contemplating becoming a kill shelter due to money issues. I was not disappointed in the way the story panned out either and really enjoyed this book. I am definitely going to chec...

I really do enjoy this series, even as fluffy as it often is. And I especially enjoyed this book, which has Abby's mom -- not Abby -- in for questioning this time. Can Abby get her mom out from under the magnifying glass? And can she help her niece, Tara, find a good home for some dogs at the shelter this murder happened at? And can Abby do all of this and still get married on time? All of these questions were compelling, even those that got rathe...

A fun outing and enjoyable mystery. The character of Seedy did tug quite a bit at my heart strings (she made me think of my little foundling Tribble, except that Tribble has four legs :) ). The only jarring note was when the main character kept insisting that a note must have been written by a teen, because "you're" was spelled "your", and no adult would ever make that mistake. LOL, have they ever seen Internet comments? Or Facebook? It did pull ...

I couldn't put this book down until I fell asleep and then grabbed it first thing in the morning and continued reading. It is a light murder mystery and Kate Collins is a great author with wonderful insight to people (and dogs). I highly recommend her as an author and in particular this book - it has you right to the end even though you know she is going to end up the mother to a wonderful little dog. Enjoy! - I did,

I really wanted to like this book but Abby was so whiney and insecure. I wish she had been more excited about her upcoming marriage. Marco definitely is the one in love in this relationship. And I really don't understand drumming up business right before you don't plan to be there for a week or more (however long the honeymoon is) or adopting a dog the day of your wedding when you won't be there to take care of it.

Perfect timing: I have read this series since around 2006 and this book's release was just in time for my own wedding. I even took it on the honeymoon. However, there wasn't much of the wedding in the book, and the wedding planning seemed a little off. Like when Abby just calls to change the name on her driver's license. I sat at the Social Security office for an hour and still don't have a card with my new name, a prerequisite for changing a dri...
