**I won this book in a GoodReads First Reads giveaway**I think that this book is a wonderful book for dog lovers and experienced knitters alike! The book includes patterns for twenty five new dog breeds (including Beagles, Yorkshire terriers and Shih tzus), and provides somewhat easy to follow patterns for people to make small knitted dogs. The book includes an introduction to the history and character of each of the dog breeds included, as well ...

At first glance this book is full of cute and pretty realistic dogs to knit. And this holds up pretty well. But somehow there is just something off in the patterns. Maybe the authors are striving too hard to make their dogs look totally realistic and are missing the mark somewhere. Which is sad as these dogs are really cute.

I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.First Impressions: I must admit that I have a love for knitting books that focus on toys and other small items. Little knitting items are wonderful, because (1) they are tiny (and tiny items are always cute), (2) they use up all the scraps of yarn that you have in your knitting basket, and (3) ...

I wrote an extremely long review and then Goodreads ate it... sigh.I will write a longer review later, but I just don't have it in me to write five paragraphs over again right now.I greatly enjoyed this book of knitting patterns; in many ways it is an improvement over the first installment (simply titled Knit Your Own Dog), because the details in shaping and finishing are a bit more professional this time around. Not that it was all that sloppy b...

I found this book interesting and will be trying some of the patterns! The instructions are clear and very well laid out so that they are easy to understand. The additional information in the back is very helpful, especially the general instructions for sewing the parts together to make the actual dog. There is a short history of the breed which is informative and explains how some of them were bred. All in all a helpful, fun book with easy to und...

I was so excited when I won a copy of this book through the GoodReads First Reads program! I love dogs and crafting, and this book has both! I have yet to try my hand at knitting, so it might be a little more challenging for me than for the veterans. However, I look forward to learning the craft and adding more beautiful dogs to my household. The patterns in this book are amazing!

As I said on my review of this book's companion volume, this is one of the reasons I want to learn to knit.As an aside, I'm a back-of-the-book indexer, and the indexes in each of these books are nice examples of using graphics in indexes to identify the entries.
