Speaking as a veteran, I was highly impressed and grateful that Sophie Moss is the first author I’ve found who could actually nail what it feels like to be a veteran and the issues that are very real and important to them. Many books try to capture the essence of military life, the terminology, and the persona, yet most fail by trying to create overly-machismo characters in ridiculous situations, using generic phrases, and hyped-up resumes – ...

I received a copy of this for the blog tour. There is just something so magical about Sophie’s books. I love how the characters leap off of the pages, and the setting is so detailed that I feel like I’m there in the story. I adore this tiny coastal town and its nosy neighbors and how everyone takes care of each other. And I just adored the romance that developed between two characters I grew to love in the first book. :)Becca Haddaway is a tot...

First of all let me say that this is the first book of author Sophie Moss that I’ve read and I now have a new favorite author. Get a load of this!Becca Haddaway is a second grade teacher on a speck of land called Heron Island, a little island with the warmth and depth of a small community. She’s about to take the big plunge of marriage in two weeks to her teenage sweetheart Tom, a man that shared a traumatic life event with her in the past, t...

Wind Chime Wedding was second in the Wind Chime series. Although I haven't read the first book, I didn't feel lost. The author gave enough descriptions and background info about the characters. Now, I must read the first book!I loved the setting being on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. That was our annual summer vacation location when I was growing up in MD. Reading this book was like visiting the shore. I could picture Heron Island and got to kno...

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads~~Having really enjoyed the first in the series, I was delighted to get the chance to read this new story about the characters of Heron Island. The mix of peace and return from war vets along with school closure dramas and family secrets add to the wedding crazy that ... well you need to read and find out. Once again Ms Moss has painted such a vivid picture of life in this w...

well it was more 4.5 than 5 but still... The story was very good and I liked it very much. I loved both the hero and the heroine. He was a vet from Afghanistan and had a bad story but he was a very positive character. She was trapped in a situation hard to get out but she did.Very good

When I began reading "Wind Chime Cafe", becoming immersed in the story of Annie, Taylor, and Will, I was over-the-moon excited to spend some more time with them in the other two books of the three book series.Imagine my surprise when I began reading "Wind Chime Wedding" only to find out that my three favorite characters had become minor characters, at best. I was preparing for disappointment until I was catapulted from that feeling into a story t...

I wasn't at all as satisfied with this book as I was with the first in the series. I thought Becca and Colin would have a smoldering forbidden sort of romance with her being engaged but instead of getting that, it fell flat. I usually don't like when the heroine is with someone else while falling for the Hero but in most cases the connection is stronger than the one built with the other guy and you just want them to be together! What I hate is wh...

As Good as the FirstIt is always great to read an author who is able to keep the qualities of characters and storylines through a series of books. This was written as if she picked up her pen at the finish of the first book in the series and kept the story going while going more in depth with other characters. Fabulous book!

#3wordreview ~ "Sweet, Powerful, Romantic!" Sophie Moss is the master of powerful romance. Every time I finish reading a book she's written, I am emotionally reeling, and in a really good way. The sign of a good author is when you think about their book for days after finishing it, and like with 'Wind Chime Café', 'Wind Chime Wedding' just sucked me into the life of Heron Island, and made me long for more after the story had finished. In this ins...

** 4.5 Stars **I have been anxiously awaiting this book since I finished Wind Chime Cafe and I have to say, it was worth the wait. I had a soft spot for Colin as soon as we were introduced to him and wanted him to get his HEA badly. He was such a strong character, who had been through so much that you couldn't help but wonder how much more he could handle. His saving grace was connecting with Will and their partnership to open up a center for wou...

3.5 starsWind Chime Wedding continues the tale of residents of Heron Island. This time we are following Becca Haddaway's story. She is an elementary school teacher on the island who is going to marry her childhood sweetheart and leave the island to follow him to DC. Right off the bat, you can see that Becca loves the island more than most. It is in her blood. She loves small town living and all of her friends and family who live there. When Becca...

Wind Chime Wedding is the next chapter of Wind Chime Cafe By Sophie Moss. This is the 2nd book of the Wind Chime Series. You could read it as a stand alone but I wouldn't recommend it. You kind of need to read Wind Chime Cafe in order to really meet the characters and get a true idea of some of the things being talked about in this book. The story takes place on Heron Island where Becca Hadaway is a 2nd grade teacher who is quitting to get marri...

Sophie MossI knew from the teaser at the end of Wind Chime Cafe that I was going to love Wind Chime Wedding. Getting a chance to return to Heron Island and it's crazy cast of characters was a blast!I immediately admired Becca's strength. She wants to save the things that are close to her heart but is learning that some things you just have to let go of. Deciding which is which for her was hard. I wanted her to have it all but knew in the end that...

Beauty, emotion and a darn good story. Wind Chime Wedding is a special blend of Colin and Becca's story and the story of the residents of Heron Island. There is plenty to keep your interest and it all blend's seamlessly together.Becca is busy planning her wedding to her high school sweetheart when she finds out the school she teaches at is due to close. Turning to the one person who can help her, Governor's son Colin, she finds more than a politi...

A beautifully believable romance…This is a book that emulates the sigh of a beautiful spring breeze…and makes you feel so good! Becca is all set to marry her high school sweetheart, Tom, but something’s not quite right. How can she continue wedding planning when her heart jumps every time she sees Colin? Wind Chime Wedding is the only book I’ve read written by Sophie Moss. It won’t be the last. I was immediately swept up in the magic of Heron Island, the people who make up this wonderful community, and the believable way that these characters interact with each other. Moss brilliantly paints how every small town rejoices in love stories, grieves in tragedies and how some folks seem to have an ax to grind against their own up-bringing. I’m u...

Read Wind Chime Cafe first. It has a satisfactory ending, so it stands alone, but reading it will give you the background on Becca, the school-teacher protagonist in this second novel about the people of fictional Heron Island in Maryland. It also focuses on Colin, a former Seal and amputee who is setting up a place of refuge for veterans and wounded warriors to come and learn to adapt to what life has handed them. Very good writing. Loving this ...

Format: eARCWind Chime Wedding was an amazing follow up to Wind Chime Cafe. Becca has been living in the past. A life she feels her mother would have wanted for her, marrying her high school sweetheart, Tom. Tom is a jerk and a half and I don't trust him as far as I could throw him. Colin, former Navy Seal and resident hottie mctottie entered Becca's world and turned it upside down. The chemistry between the two is electric. He does everything he...

After reading Wind Chime Cafe, I have been looking forward to this book. To say I wasn't disappointed is an understatement. This book picks up after WC Cafe and takes us back to Heron Island where I was immersed in the setting so skillfully it feels as though I actually spent time there and where the characters are so well written it feels as if they are real people. I love the issues she handles without beating the reader over the head with it a...

I love sweet and simple romances. Sophie Moss is someone I have never read before, but now, like so many authors, I want to read more of her books. This book was sweet, simple and refreshing. It did tackle the serious issue of what happens to veteran soldiers of combat, but I think that's important too. Sophie Moss does a great job with character development as well as keeping the story entertaining and easy for the reader to follow. Check out So...

I read Wind Chime Cafe a year ago and have been eagerly awaiting the second book in the series since then. Wind Chime Wedding was definitely worth the wait! The book has strong characters with a story as multi-faceted and layered as real life. It's a love story, but it's also a story of loss and redemption, struggle and triumph, friendship and family. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and look forward to next year when the next Wind Chime b...

Loved this book. It's tale focuses on how grief can shape ours lives either build something productive helping others or let it turn your life into being manipulated, destructive or vengeful. The characters, vivid scenery & sounds, myriad of emotions and community pulling together to help a family in crisis gave the wonderful feeling of living where people cared. I'd look forward to next adventure in book 3 though 2016 seems too far off.
