There's a newbie in town and she's about to turn the quiet town upside down; or at least what she finds while renovating the shop she just bought just might. With lots of work to do in a limited time, Kerri Gale is ready to put in a hand or two to help the people she hired with the workload. Unfortunately, this almost took the head of the news reporter Steve Newis when a slip of the crowbar sent a board flying in Steve's direction when she took a...

A nice, light read. Nice characters, quite straightforward. It was a bit predictable though, so I would hardly call it a mystery. I liked the recipes that were added, although I've yet to try them out :)

Kerri Gale recently moved back to her hometown, and she's prepping for the grand opening of her nut shop, Nuts about Nuts. Her grandfather shows up mysteriously, the town reporter seems awfully nice...almost too nice, and the handyman definitely seems too nice--he's murdered right in her shop while working off-the-clock. Between the murder and a stash of cash found in her shop, Kerri's not sure what to do, but her inner sleuth genes kick in and s...

I was given this book by the author with the understanding that I would leave an honest review. Here is my honest review. I liked this book and I see where this series has potential to be really good. This is the first book in this series and therefore just setting up the way the characters interact with each other. I thought Kerri the lead character was interesting and can see a lot of room for the author to develop her. I loved her little dog C...

Kerri, Steve and grandpa George are accidental crime solvers. A new girl in town trying to start a business, finds out that the previous store owner was murdered. As she finds out the local police do not seem to be in a hurry to investigate the crime. And at this same time her Grandpa George whom she has not seen in years, shows up with mysteries of his own. Good starting series.

A very good read. Well-defined characters, an interesting mystery and lots of potential for more books. Our hero Kerri is curious and a bit suspicious of easy answers. She works with her mysterious grandfather, a cute reporter and her best friend Natalie to figure out the clues and resolve the mystery. Oh, and we can't forget her adorable dog Cashew and the delightful neighbourhood squirrel that help the story along. I'm looking forward to the ne...

I have to say I'm torn by this one. One the one hand I found the over all premise for this series fun and interesting, on the other hand I really had a hard time believing any of the relationships in the story. I liked it enough to read the whole thing, and it clearly kept my interest, but over it it wasn't horrible but it wasn't fabulous. Just sort of middle of the road.

An entertaining read. Small town, new girl in town. Kerri's desire to open a shop is thwarted by the murder of not just the former owner but the handyman working for her. Aided by her grandfather (a surprise visitor) and a local journalist, she sets out to discover the killer so her life can get back to normal. After several townspeople are pinpointed as the killer, the case is a little too easily solved.
