BREAKING POINT is the second book I have read by Allison Brennan and the first solo Lucy Kincaid book. The book I read previously was SHATTERED in the Max Revere series, but Lucy Kincaid had a big role in the book as well. And, I know after reading SHATTERED that I needed to read more books by Allison Brennan. So, I was very pleased to get the latest Lucy Kincaid book.READ THE REST OF THE REVIEW OVER AT FRESH FICTION!

Allison Brennan writes a great series with Lucy Kincaid. Lucy has been relegated to desk duty for the past couple of months because she lied to her new boss, who also seems to have another agenda where Lucy is concerned. Lucy has apologized to her boss (Rachel Grant), but to no avail. When RCK starts an investigation in to what is a big human trafficking business that has a couple of undercover cops and a civilian involved. They ask Lucy to be a ...

After a bit of a slow start with the set up, this turned out to be one of the more enjoyable books in the series. The rest of the book was pretty fast-paced and switching back and forth between the various main players in this book was done very well to keep the tension up.Bella, a character who hadn't appeared in previous books, was an interesting character and after about half of the book I felt like she was a member of the group from the begin...

I've read a few books by Allison Brennan, including a couple in the series featuring Lucy Kincaid. I was a little worried coming in part way through after not having read the last few... however, that was actually not my biggest stumbling block when I first started this book.It was more the 'other' players and their backstories. I really did feel like I'd inadvertently walked into someone else's party and didn't know anyone and kept missing the '...

Breaking Point combines the Kincaids, Rogans and RCK Protective Services into a thrilling story about human trafficking. Even though this is technically a Lucy Kincaid series – the main heroine of this book is Bella Caruso. She is JT Caruso's younger sister. JT has been a secondary character throughout many books. When Bella was a teenager she was sold into sexual slavery by her father. Her brother JT, who had been away serving in the Marines w...

Thanks to Minotaur Books for the advanced ebook copy in exchange for my honest review. This was my first book by Allison Brennan and also book 13 (yes, thirteen) in the Lucy Kincaid series. I think with how long the series is it read fine as a standalone. I didn't feel like I was missing a lot of information. So if you're thinking about jumping into this one but are hesitant because it's so far into a series, there's no need to worry!Bella Caruso ...

Breaking Point by Allison Brennan tackles a difficult subject--the sex trade, especially involving underage girls. Brennan manages to illustrate this despicable practice in a way that clearly illustrates the horrific abuse without making it titillating.Bella Caruso is undercover with a trafficking ring, trying to locate one particular girl. During the rescue of two underage girls, a policeman is murdered, and Bella's position becomes even more da...

Everyone has a breaking point. It is just a matter of psychology - figuring out what was feared the most. In the world of human trafficking, this thriller is all about the strength of women. In this case Lucy Kincaid and Bella Caruso. The narration starts out strong and intense, Bella was sold by her step father and with the abuse she endured, the manipulation of her identity, she feared that she would loose her life and those that she loved. It ...

Some of the hardest books to read emotionally for me are the best. This one is no different. The fight against human trafficking, which is a difficult thing to even contemplate, is the topic of this book and it's consequences. But the other part is what it does to families and how each react.Bella lived it and is now fighting it as hard as she can. She is trying to find Hope and the is will she find her before she is killed. Her brother JT is a p...

Allison Brennan is one of my must read authors, and her Lucy Kincaid series my favourite of hers. Bella Caruso, little sister of RCK figurehead JT Caruso, is undercover trying to find a young girl who was sold to human traffickers as a 12 year old. She's in deep, but is reluctant to get out without Hope. A cop she is working with turns up dead, and her handler reaches out to JT who he served with as a SEAL. What begins is a search for Bella and H...

Series: Lucy Kincaid, book #13Mystery, Thriller & Suspense > Mystery > Police ProceduralsStarted off well but then it slowed down and dragged. I felt like there were too many characters running around, all of them had some kind of problems and issues to solve. I wanted to follow Bella: how she can dodge bad guys while trying to find and rescue Hope and other girls. But instead we get to read that Lucy's new boss is a bitch, there's lots of inform...

Seriously, I appreciate how long it takes an author to write a book and have it published but I need a new Allison Brennan book about once a month. :) I couldn't wait to get Breaking Point and it was incredible - suspenseful, gripping, emotional - all the things I've come to expect from this author's work. Lucy is a wonderful, in-depth character that I never tire of. I wish every Kincaid, Rogen and now Caruso could be in every book. What a wealth...

So much happened in this one, so many ties, past and present come into play. But I think what interested me the most was the battle of wills between Lucy and her boss. I thought there Lucy did a great job most of the time and took the high road. Not sure I would have been able to do the same, I probably would have used my connections to bitch slap her, instead Lucy tried to hide things from everyone else and hoped things would work out. Not sure ...

As I say every time I review a Lucy Kincaid novel, Lucy and Sean are absolutely one of my favorite book couples ever. Even though this story had less of their relationship and more action, I just love their connection. I've read all of the Rogan and Kincaid books, and I highly recommend reading all of them in order so that you get the full understanding of all the complicated relationships and can fully appreciate all the amazing characters Allis...

A fast paced thriller on a topical subject with two terrific heroines - Bella and Lucy. The sex trade is horrific (and some of the details here are hard to read) so it is incumbent upon us to respect those like Bella who have turned their hideous personal experience into a crusade to save others. In this case, though, things get more difficult but luckily, SA Lucy Kincaid, is enlisted and able to take on an effort to find Bella and save as many w...

I've been trying to figure out why this book didn't grab me. Love, love, love the Lucy Kincaid series and always feel like I'm completely involved with the characters and story. This one, however, just never absorbed me. A good story, yes, but not one that pulled me in and sucked the breath out of me until I finished it. Was not quite a stand-alone. Have read the entire series and feel like I know the characters and their history/background prett...

Another successful missionAction, strong characters, interesting plot lines and fantastic dialogue. Everyone joins together in this story to help save a family member and to stop a horrible crime. There is non stop action and it is fascinating to see how all the steps combine to take action on different cases. Through the story we see how all the siblings and law enforcement friends are doing. Brad was shone in a different light in this book and ...

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an eARC of this book. This is perhaps a darker book that some of the others in this series. It deals with sex trafficking including underage girls. As always, there is quite a lot of violence and gore but somehow I got past it. So many characters, so many places, so much to keep track of but by the end it all makes sense. The book starts with lots of new characters which was confusing as one had the feel...

I have enjoyed each book in this series. Each one brings out something different in Sean and Lucy. I really appreciated how much Lucy wanted to have her boss's trust. Her desire to be a trusted member of the team was palpable. Sean was supportive of Lucy as always. His devotion to her is beautiful. I enjoyed learning more about J.T. Caruso. His sister, Bella's, story was heartbreaking. She was a formidable character. The book did a great job deal...

Breaking Point is Allison Brennan’s latest Lucy Kincaid novel. While considered a Lucy book, it is as much about Bella Caruso as it is Lucy. The insight into the Caruso family makes the entire story much richer and more interesting. Lucy does struggle with some big issues in the novel, long-time readers will struggle along with her as she makes some tough decisions. As with previous Lucy books, the story takes many interesting twists and turns ...

I wasn't sure I wanted to read this book due to the subject matter of human sex trafficking, but since it was a Lucy Kinkaid Rogan book, I decided to give it a try. This book is full of heart-pounding action. All the tension had me worrying about Lucy, Bella, Hope and all the girls. I had to know if Lucy would quit, if Bella would be recognized during her undercover work and I was worried about Hope and all the girls. I had to know what was going...
