I enjoyed this book tremendously. It is a fantastic tale that gives you an insight to the thoughts of Lady Gothel and why she did what she did. What do you think her motives are? Greed? Vanity? Love? It is a must read.

First of all, I would like to thanks Serena Valentino for organized a trivia contest on her facebook page for an advance reader copy of Mother Knows Best. I will keep this review simple with no spoilers in order to tease you and make your mouth water without revealing the plot and the twists. The story begin with a beautiful pragmatic young woman who wanted to see the world but decide to stay in her home birth by respect and love. No I'm not talk...

A year ago I was heartbroken by Maleficent's demise in Mistress of all Evil so when I got my ARC yesterday with Gothel story I knew I needed to be ready for another deep story. There is so much about this book that I've enjoyed, personally I love what Serena did with Gothel, I never imagined how her background and past might have been before the events taking part in the film, so this was both exciting and intriguing for the story. The result is s...

Valentino weaves wonders in her latest Villains novel, Mother Knows Best. Perfectly complimentary to the previous four installments while also a story that holds its own, MKB is a testament to Valentino’s spectacular spooky storytelling. MKB walks us through Mother Gothel’s early years, setting the scene for the Gothel we know (and love?) in Disney’s Tangled. From exploring the dead woods and witnessing the grandeur of the castle and conser...

Received an ARC from Serena Valentino through a Facebook contest. I was sooo stoked!I've only seen Tangled once, so naturally Mother Gothel hasn't been one of my favorite villains. With Mother knows best, however, she has become my FAVORITE in this series! It was so gooood, y'all! And dark. Much darker than we have seen in the series, so far.It was refreshing to see that the Odd Sisters had sort of met their match in Gothel. Serves them right! ...

No tells you as you get older, become a parent, re-watch your favourite childhood Disney movies, that in your fairytale you have become the villain. You realise life isn’t perfect, you yell, you get cranky and you would do anything to get what you or your family want.Serena Valentino’s Villain series, has given me a greater understanding of the villains history and their perspective on life; Through hard, trying times and frankly what made th...

I love this series. Serina Valentino does an amazing job telling the story of the villains. I always wondered what Gothel’s back story was. I feel bad for her. It is interesting to see how she what she thought was right was so twisted by the odd sisters. If you are looking for a rapunzel story, she is only in it for about five chapters. This is only about Gothel.

I was really excited about this book. I was counting down the days until it was released. However, it just was way too dark. I gave it several chances, but I could not even finish it. :( I love Tangled and I am open to adaptations, but this was too gruesome.
