I was supposed to write something for every volume, but it was impossible. There was nothing going on in the previous 3 to deserve one. Yes, there was a lot of fighting, but it was all between nobodies I don’t care about, and the plot was going nowhere. It’s only the finale that matters and even that was plus ultra lame. Deku gets a power boost that lets him not only unlock his maximum power with no set back, something which was the big hook ...

4.5/5 StarsThis series continues to surprise me again and again. There were some true moments of depth and sincerity throughout this installment, underscored by some incredibly satsifying twists. Bring on the school festival!

a LOT has happened in this volume. while the actual overhaul vs deku fight was over quickly, there was still:- nighteye's death- the boys (todoroki, bakugo and inasa) basically being babysitters and taking care of a chaotic kindergarten- aoyama being kinda shady (which i LOVED and also honestly think that he's being like that cause he has a crush on izuku lol)there were many funny moments too. i can't wait for it all to be animated!

This volume includes the conclusion of the Overhaul arc, and holy shit it's intense. Everyone is awesome and all my feelings are hurt. Please never let anyone hurt Kirishima ever again. I love my perfect rock son. The death made me devastated. Eri is the sweetest thing and I am so glad she's safe. Mirio deserves the world and I want him to be the happiest hero ever. Hearing more about Overhaul's whole backstory and his villainous plan was great, ...

MY BABY MIDORIYA. UGHHHHH. I really liked the conclusion of the overhaul arc. It wrapped up greatly. I also really like the intro to two possible arcs - the wild man and fucking Aoyama. Pleas be some yandere shit or like some thing. I like how it leads into like a mystery. I assume it will be a mini arc/cool off arc before another huge arc kinda like the zoldyck arc from hunter x hunter. Overall I can’t ducking wait for the next volume.

A really good volume. I was waiting to see if this series would be all god like characters or if they would let some of the heroes actually die, and it didn't disappoint. That ending was super creepy though.

I think this should have been split in two volumes. You can’t kill Sir and then go with the cuties (Camie, you tricked me there!) in so little pages. I need the angst, I need the aftermath, I need the feeling AND THEN I need the fluff. I feel like he tried to put a little too much in just a volume and everything was just superficial... he could have exploited Izuku “destined” death (like duh, I didn’t feel the dread at all), how the death...

My sun baby deserves the world.Todoroki is so done with Endeavor in this chapter, i'm dying.Gang Orca: "There is only one thing worse than a rapist" *uncovers paper to form 'child rapist'* "BOOM!"Bakugou: "A CHILD!"GO: "NO!"Soft and sincere Kacchan, I REAPEAT...

In this battle we see the epic conclusion of the Eri Rescue arc, learn more about Eri and her quirk, get another glimpse into the League of Villains and their aim, suffer through the death of (view spoiler)[Nighteye (hide spoiler)] and see the BEST babysitting ever. I have to say that I think the highlight of this for me was by far the babysitting. I mean... Bakugo essentially being left in charge of a bunch of small children seems like the ultim...

The first half of Volume 18 is the direct aftermath of the Yakuza raid that happened in the last two volumes. Where the raid was high stakes, adrenaline pumping intensity. And now we are crashing from all of the intense emotions and dealing with injuries, casualties, and heartbreak. It' a lot and honestly this volume shows that season four is really going to hurt. Mirio is such an amazing character I'm falling in love with more and more. I think ...

My Hero Academia, Vol. 18 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next ten chapters (158–167) of the on-going manga series. The tankōbon concludes the battle of the task force and the Eight Precepts of Death. With Eri and her quirk to rewind time, Izuku Midoriya could finally use the full power of his One For All quirk to its full extent. Every time his body is destroyed form his quirk, Eri would rewind time to the poin...

Another splendid volume of My hero Academia. This volume is filled with a lot of emotion and some great action set pieces. The Overhaul vs. Midoriya fight was simply amazing. Horikoshi really pays a great homage to American superhero comics with a few full page spreads of Overhaul and Midoriya in brutal combat. What really makes the battle all the more exciting are the convictions our villain and hero bring to the fight. Their battle becomes more...

Wow. The conclusion for the current plot was so much more intense than I expected. I have to say that I'm really happy they took things so seriously though. It adds a sense of permanency to what is happening. Granted, the series has already proven that they're willing to do that, what with Deku's injuries and everything. But still, it's refreshing to see. It's nice to see a series be capable of both humorous points and more heavy points, as evide...

Ending the Eri/Overhaul Arc, going into another We've finally come to the end of the Eri arc and it was a lot to take in. I know with S4 of the anime coming we're going to see this animated soon, so I'm glad that I caught up before then. I knew that Nighteye was going to die, and I've seen most of these panels on Tumblr before but its refreshing to see them in complete context. I can't look at Fatgum and not think that he should have hired on Mom...

The exciting climax of Deku vs. Overhaul ends in a very dark twist as the League of Villains stop by to make sure the fans don't forget they were part of this story arc. A few people actually die in this volume and I will admit, I'm loving in because it doesn't shy away from the reality of what villains do.But to make sure we end on a more lighthearted note, we flip over to see Bakugo and Todoroki work on getting their hero licenses. In a nutshel...

This volume could be split into two story arcs, the first one dealing with the aftermath following the previous volumes action-packed and tragic story, and the second one bringing back into the game some of the star heroes that we haven’t heard of in a really long time. While I found the transition pretty good, I still struggled to accept that the volume featured two arcs with two completely different stories that stimulate completely different ...

This is what I'm talking about! A great conclusion to another solid arc, and I will say with my whole chest I cried and had to put this down out of the sheer weight of emotion in my heart multiple times. I love how much these kids have grown. Literally every time they interact you see their growth, how much they strive to do good, and it just really makes me emotional seeing their change. Bakugou, Todoroki, Deku, even Mirio- all developing and be...

4 out of 5 starsSo, we’ve finally got the results of the Deku vs Overhaul fight, and while it was short, we got to see Deku maxed out thanks to Eri’s quirk of rewinding. The arc ended on a somewhat sad note since Nighteye died from his injuries while Mirio is now quirkless. However, the second half of the volume ended on a lighter note with Bakugo and Todoroki taking their makeup exam for their hero licenses. Hilarity ensues because these 2, ...

I nice volume to calm things down as things are getting ready for the next arc and I liked a lot of the chapters like I laughed when we saw Bakugo's and Shoto's test to get their license. I also love this manga series when it actually delves into the ideas of superheroes as one of the major themes of this series is the effects of heroes on the world be it physical and mental which this does very well as we see a bit more of the mental and emotion...

I'm glad the overhaul arc is over, I enjoyed it immensely but it sure did cause me a lot of pain. It was nice to wind down the previous intense arc with the softness of the provisional license exam and I was really happy to see Camie, at least the real Camie, and Inasa back again. Still not a fan of Endeavor and I honestly don't want to see any sort of redemption from him but I'm happy to see the other characters developing.

It's the final chapter in the Eri rescue saga. It's one of the darkest books so far with one of the big heroes dying (won't say who) and Deku coming to terms with Lemillion permanently losing his Quirk in the previous volume. It's a bit more lighthearted when Bakugo and Todoroki go for a second attempt at getting their Hero license. There is a surprise reveal on the last page with one of the students of UA and I can't wait for the next volume to ...

This entire arc was straight bananas. It was awesome to see Deku engage in some Dragon Ball Z level fisticuffs, but what made this volume so good, and the series by extension, was that there was so much at stake. Things happen and there are some major consequences for the hero society. It’s awesome!

This volume finishes up the battle and essentially, the arc. It was fun to see Bakugo and Shoto having to deal with their provisional exam, and I think it started to show Bakugo in a little different light. Meanwhile, the volume ends by placing new suspicions on a character that has been sorta fading into the background.
