I am so thrilled to start the week off with a review of Heather Blake's To Catch A Witch. This one is out in August and thrilled me to no end! I love everything about this series and am indebted to Crooked Lane Books for continuing this wonderful long running series. From page one I was enchanted and transported back to the Village in the middle of winter, back with Darcy and her family. Concern and anxiety griped me surrounding the relationship ...

From the moment I read the first line of To Catch A Witch, I knew I would be totally engrossed in the story.Darcy Merriweather is a fun character and this series is my favorite in the cozy paranormal genre. There are all sorts of appealing parts to the story, a good solid mystery, strong personalities and witchcraft, which are just a few of the things that appeal to me.I definitely recommend this story (and the series) to all cozy mystery readers,...

I was given this ARC by the publisher in return for an honest review.Heather Blake is back and I am beyond excited! Well, I dont know if she ever left, but it felt like an eternity since the last Wishcraft story and I am very glad I got to read her newest book during the blistering heat in the middle of summer.I am absolutely not joking. The welcomed break from the heat and humidity even if only imagined was bliss. The authors skill at describing...

A lot was going on in this one. The crime was sad, mostly due to why the person was killed. It sucked that so many people had to hide what they were up to because of one petty person. The drama revolving around The Elder and the line of succession is intriguing. I have a feeling that there will be lots more drama around this in the next book. What will be interesting is what side people fall on.

This is #8 in a series that I used to read a few years back. At the time I liked them but this one was a little difficult to get through. Either because I have outgrown them, the magic element isn't enough for me, there are too many characters to keep up with or all of the above. I'm a fan of cozy mysteries but this one was just okay at best.

The story was good, and it's always fun to visit the Enchanted Village. My only complaint (and why I knocked a star off) has to do with the proofreading errors. A few common words were misspelled and there were missing words. You could get the context, but it was frequent enough to throw me out of the story.Hopefully the file will be updated at some point.

For me this book was lacking. It was mostly lacking in areas of plot. I felt like the pacing was too slow and there was no build of tension that I would expect from a mystery book. I didn't really feel the stakes.

This book would be best for people interested in witchcraft. Much of the story gets confusing with all the different types of witches and rules for a magic village and the mystery is really lost in all the witch details.

To Catch a Witch earns 5/5 Witchy WishesDelightfully Fun!I love a little magic in my cozy. Then add a witch or two, wishes being granted, and a murder to solve, and it's a perfect choice for me! Starting with the eighth book in the series, with the storyline and characters already well developed, was not a disadvantage. There were enough references to background and character connections to keep me engaged, so newbies feel free to join in with th...

I loved this book. There was so much that happened from the murder to the eldership. I was happy and a little surprised by Harper's situation. Of course I love following Darcy and Nick and watching their relationship progress. Pepe and Mrs P. continue to be two of my favorite characters. I will be sad when the next book comes out since it will be the last. I am anxious to see how it all ends.

This is such a fun series and I feel I get way too excited whenever the latest installment comes out! The characters in this latest addition are definitely growing and the author shows that perfectly! I love how they have all either come together or apart and how the relationships between them are moving along, especially with all the conflicts. The mystery was great! The twist on the whodunit and how it got there was fantastic! Plus the little s...

To Catch a Witch by Heather Blake is a beautifully written story. My mind is still reeling over from all the information and who committed the murder. Who would kill Abby? Darcy Merriweather Darcy is our sleuth and point of view character. She is someone that I would love to be her friend. Darcy is a likable and relatable character.  She is good at figuring at the clues even if a bit late in the game. What I like about her is that no matter wha...
