WOW... In book #2 of the First Wives series we are reintroduced to Trina Petrov and we meet the charming and sexy country music superstar Wade Thomas. Right from the start at their first meeting you can feel the sizzle between them… And things just get better from there. As I start to read this story I can’t believe how engaging Catherine Bybee draws her readers in right from the start. You can’t wait to keep turning the page to see what is...

In Book2 of the First Wives Series, HALF-EMPTY, Catherine Bybee gives us Katrina “Trina” Petrov’s story. Her marriage of convenience ended when her billionaire husband Fedor committed suicide. For the past year she’s been traveling and trying to come to terms with the way her life has turned out. Stuck in a hotel due to a storm, she fights jetlag by having a late dinner in the empty hotel bar. Well, almost empty. A charming, handsome and p...

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley for a honest review.3 1/2 starsHalf Empty was interesting story, it had many of the elements I like in a story, a strong female lead, a man that appreciates her but there was all these little things that I found irritating and took away from the story for me. It felt like there was too much going on distracting me from the actual relationship between Trina and Wade. I think that this was well written,...

This continues Bybee’s series about women who contracted temporary marriages with super-rich men knowing that they would divorce within a short period of time. It sounds rather cold, but not really because the women get to be heroines of their own romances so you know they can’t be all that bad. I don’t buy that there could be a private business devoted solely to help people make such marriage arrangements, but just go with it. The heroine ...

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**If you haven’t read any of Catherine Bybee’s books you are missing out! She has once again shown us that she can write a story that weaves romance, suspense, and action all together! Catherine has a way of drawing you into the story and making it hard to put the book down once you’ve started reading! The second book in the The First Wives series focuses on Tr...

One thing I like about most in Catherine Bybee’s books is her love for suspense and drama to keep the story more than just a sappy love story. Half Empty is the second installment of her “spin-off” series from the Weekday Brides novels. The First Wives series are much like the ones from her original series where the leading couple are almost forced by circumstances mixed with attraction making their affair intoxicating and messy. Almost alw...

Another engaging installment in the First Wives series! The widowed Trina Petrov has sought refuge in Venice for the first year anniversary of her husband’s death and meets country music superstar Wade Thomas in a bar in Miami while returning to Texas. Sparks fly but, much to his surprise, she doesn’t recognize him and when he introduces himself, she has no idea who he is. Catherine Bybee knows how to write! I read the story in one sitting. T...

This is the second book in the First Wives series. While technically it can be read on it's own, I will be reading the first book in the series to see what I missed and simply because this story was that good! Catherine Bybee has a talent for creating characters and story lines that immediately pull the reader in and have you truly hoping they can get their HEA. Fans of Bybee's earlier series, the Weekday Brides, will recognize plot elements but ...

I am never disappointed in a Catherine Bybee novel. These First Wives have it all. Romance, suspense, money, fame, bodyguards, etc. We met Trina in the previous book, and was seriously hoping she would meet a wonderful man to complement her new life. Wade is that perfect man. And a country singer? HOT. What a great story with plenty of twists to keep you intrigued. I cannot wait to see which of the First Wives is next!

If you had asked be before I would have said Catherine Bybee’s Weekday Brides series is one of my favorite series. The First Wives series doesn’t take their place, they are just a continuation of the series. The untold stories in the marriage by contract series. The ones who didn’t have their happily ever after – yet. The few who joined a small tight friendship and call themselves the First Wives Club.Half Empty is about Trina Petriv, try...

**3.5**Why hasn’t Catherine Bybee written a high octane Hollywood movie script yet? I think this would make a great summer blockbuster. Half Empty started out as a sweet, slow-burn novel and ended with way more action and adventure than I was expecting. The heroine, Trina, was coming back from an open ended Italian vacation after her husband killed himself a year earlier. While meandering home to Texas, Trina hits up a hotel bar in Miami and me...

Half Empty (First Wives, # 2) is another great example of Catherine Bybee’s talent for producing enjoyable and engrossing reads. While not my favorite of her books, this romantic suspense novel still grabbed my attention and, once the action really picked up, I was unable to put it down. This installment of the First Wives features Trina Petrov who, a year after her husband’s apparent suicide, is floundering as she grapples with sadness and g...

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**Catherine Bybee is always a one-click author for me and I was excited to dive into this second book in the First Wives series. Per usual, I was not disappointed and in fact, this is one of my favorite Bybee books to date. Sometimes you can't explain what makes you connect with a certain book or the characters it contains and while this book fits into that category,...

I loved these two together!! Complete opposites. Wade is straightforward, outgoing and a little full of himself in a good way. Trina is more quiet and reserved. Carries herself with poise and grace. And when these two get together all that falls apart. Wade brings out the more adventurous side. More confident, sensual and flirty side. And I love that about them.Trina meets the sexy cowboy and doesn't even know who he is. Which deflates the very po...

Though she wasn't in love, Trina was still haunted by her husband's death. While she was trying to avoid her friends as the anniversary of his death approached, she met a charming country singer, who had made it his goal to get her from half empty to full of life again. Trina had had a hard run of luck, and it was time for her to get her HEA. I was really delighted by the story Bybee gave her, because not only was her romance fabulous, but she al...

Even though I had not read the first book in this series I loved the premise this one opened with. Trina, the wealthy widow, randomly meets Wade, the country star and has no idea who he is. Their attraction is organic, not tainted with any expectations about wealth or fame. As the story progresses we learn he has an ex who doesn’t want to be an ex, and associates and a mother who are suspicious of Trina and her motives. She has more baggage tha...

I LOVED this book!! I have read every one of Ms. Bybee's books. Well, not the time travel ones but all of the others. And I'm thinking this one is the best so far. I read a lot and books tend to run together and I usually have a big case of CRS but I really can't remember one of her books giving me happy tears at the end. Lump in the throat... yeah! But this ending was full of happy tears. Coulda been influenced by the fact that me and the charac...

**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Montlake Romance for an honest review**This is the second book in the series and was just as good as the first. Catherine Bybee is such an author that you cannot help but be engaged in all of her books and this one is now exception. The theme carries on from book one and cannot really be read as a stand alone, but the series is that good you really won't mind. Trina is very much still in danger and it all finally c...

Get a bucket of water because Catherine Bybee is on fire!! Confession time - I was excited to be given a review copy from the publisher via Netgalley. I will request anything by Bybee and only knew this was Trina’s story - no clue who the hero was. I loved this book! Trina is trying to avoid her friends on the anniversary of her husbands death. Trina is having a great time traveling and enjoying life. Trina runs into Wade and has no clue who he is which is quite comical. Wade is there for Trina in the good times and the bad. Trina runs into trouble in the Hampton's when she is trying to sell her husbands home. Her friend also runs into trouble when she is pricing out some very expensive jew...

I am so glad I found Catherine Bybee's books a few years ago. Every one of her books is fantastic. I had really enjoyed the first book in the First Wives series. Trina's story is even better. After her first husband died, I loved that she got a happy ending. Wade was the perfect fit. He is used to people always wanting something from him, Trina is perfect since she only wants him. The story had some twists and turns. It was good to see the other ...

Catherine Bybee always, always delivers when it comes to suspense thrillers. Half Empty might be considered contemporary romance but it’s so much more. The second book in the First Wives series it hs an overarching plot carried over from the first book, definitely recommended to read that one before Half Empty to get a fuller appreciation for the whole plot. The romance is between instant and slow since there was dating! But of course the thril...

Catherine Bybee has done it again and written another fabulous book. Once I started reading this book I just couldn’t put it down. Trina has been battling guilt for losing her friend/contract only husband to suicide or she thinks it’s suicide. As she travels back to Texas she meets country singer Wade Thomas. I thought it was hilarious when they meet at the bar and she has no clue who he is. It was amusing reading how Wade was trying to impre...

Half Empy is a romance that has elements that I think romantic suspense readers will be able to enjoy as well. This story can be considered a stand alone novel but I would recommended to readers to read the first in the series to better enjoy this story. (I didn't read the first book) While the story is a romance the suspense part of the story makes more since than the romance. The suspense will keep the readers hooked and wanting more out of thi...
