Some say the great mystery of how one can live in two worlds at once died with Thomas Hunter many years ago. Still others that the gateway to that greater reality was and is only the stuff of dreams. There she learned that she was the 49th Mystic, the prophesied one, tasked with finding five anc...

A compelling, revelatory, and emotional journey, Rise of the Mystics brings not only the story that began with The 49th Mystic to an end, but also the story that began with Black fifteen years ago.

What an ending to a powerful story! This book gives you the need to take Ted Dekker’s words to heart and truly dive deep! Dive deep not only into more if Ted’s writings but into the teachings of Jesus...into Yeshua Himself. So dive deep, Beloved. You won’t be disappointed.

Ted Dekker takes the dive with his readers yet again into the world of the Circle series. The Rise of the Mystics is the conclusion to a spin off series that features new faces and many of the beloved characters from the original story arc in Circle. Now, to be clear you do not need to have read The Circle or it's YA fiction companion The Lost Chronicles to grasp the concepts in this book, but I would highly recommend reading the Circle series fi...

Ted Dekker continues to capture the hearts and minds of his readers with his latest book Rise of the Mystics. It being even better than its predecessor The 49th Mystic. Dekker weaves the truths of The Forgotten Way into a compelling and thrilling story of adventure but at its core love. And not just any love story but the story of true love. His storytelling is phenomenal as he leaves the reader with a greater understanding of what true love mean...

That wheezing you hear is me trying to catch my breath after finishing the sequel to The 49th Mystic! And this is definitely the case where you need to read that book first. Dekker does give a great catch-up to refresh a reader's mind but The Rise of the Mystics is way too intense and involved to pick up as a standalone read.Once again I'm gobsmacked over this author's ability to create such depth and meaning in a work of fiction. This is a truly...

If you are a Ted Dekker fan you will not be disappointed in his latest book, Rise of the Mystics. I will call out that you need to have read the prior book, The 49th Mystic if this book is to make sense, I also recommend that you have read the Circle Trilogy however that is not a must. In The 49th Mystic, in true Ted Dekker fashion he begins to turn your world upside down, however in Rise of the Mystics he shatters all of your preconceived ideas ...

I am super grateful to have received Rise of the Mystics as an Advance Reader Copy, and as requested, I’m offering my honest review. I am a huge fan of Ted Dekker and have read most of his books. Having said that, Rise of the Mystics is not my favorite, and some of the reasons I’ve liked Dekker’s books in the past are part of the reason this one didn’t work as well for me. What I’ve always liked about Dekker’s books is how he interwea...

Before you read this book I highly recommend you read the first book in the series, The 49th Mystic. The plot is intricate and could be difficult to follow without the background of the first book in the series. Plus: it was good.Mr. Dekker is a great storyteller and his perception of evil is EVIL. Those “bad guy” characters who play a role in this story fit that description to a T. The “good guys” in this story are also interesting, well...

I am probably the last person in the world who should be reading a fantasy book. They are not the type of book I prefer to read, but since I read the last book in this series, The 49th Mystic, I was asked to review this one, and truthfully, I wanted to find out if Rachelle got the rest of the seals! No, I'm not going to tell you if she succeeded, what I will say to you is that if anyone is going to get me to read fantasy, it would be Ted Dekker. T...

Usually I am not at a loss for words, but as I sit here pondering the right words to describe the journey that the Rise of the Mystics takes you on I am stunned! One simple word keeps surfacing, “Wow”! If you are an avid Ted Dekker fan, like I am, and you have grown with him on the spiritual journey, he has taken through his extensive writing career, both in fiction and non fiction, then Rise of the Mystics will change the way you view EVERYT...

Rise of the MysticsBeyond the Circle #2By Ted DekkerFirst off this is a totally WOW book. And you absolutely have to read book 1 The 49th Mystic first if you don't you will be more lost than Rachelle Matthews when she first awoke in the desert of Other Earth (from book 1).Everything that Rachelle thought that she had known was wrong or so the DARPA professionals working to help her would have her believe. Vlad Smith, nope just an implanted memory...

I LOVED this book! There's so much truth woven into the pages of "Rise of the Mystics." Rachelle goes on quite the journey of learning as she dreams and lives in two worlds, fights for the truth and learns the power of love. The fast pace of her adventures, the powerful emotions of the characters and plot twists often left me eagerly reading into the late hours of the night because I just couldn't stop turning the pages! Several moments left me p...

Dekker’s books never fail in grabbing the reader and not letting go until the last word. He holds my attention till the final page. Only Hurricane Florence Disaster Relief work caused me to take so long to finish this spellbinding novel. Read the 49th Mystic and then this book for thrilling adventure. I must state that as I understand the ending, theologically I am not in agreement. Still, the storyline makes for interesting reading.

So profound. So deeply profound. I have no words. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light into all that are in the hous...

This was such an intense, gripping conclusion to the first book in the series, The 49th Mystic. I thoroughly enjoyed that book. I was CONSUMED with this one! What an amazing book. Dekker has a way of writing that jumps off the page and causes you to look inside your own heart. I loved the dual storylines in this book, he did a wonderful job of keeping them separate, yet weaving them together where needed. I can’t recommend this series enough!

I got the book for free though the giveaway on goodreads and couldn't wait to read it. I finally read it and it was nice to read the continuation of the circle books with a new generation. I can't wait for the next book to come out next month. Ted Dekker does a nice job in bringing biblical views into the story without stuffing it down your throat. It's an easy read and I enjoyed the storyline

Two worlds, one hero! Rise of the Mystics wraps up the Beyond the Circle series. As I read, I cheered Rachelle on. Her quest for truth was a great reminder of God's love for me. I liked the way Dekker wove Biblical teaching into the story. This series is separate from the original Circle series, but I definitely want to go back and read them again. I would recommend this series to any Dekker or fantasy fan.

Wonderful ride to the finish with Rachelle as she tries to find the last two seals. Ted Dekker pulls out all the stops on this amazing ride to the finish to save the Realm of the Mystics.

“When you surrender your clinging to all attachments, all masks, all judgment, you awaken to a staggering love. In that love, you hold no record of wrong, and you escape all fear because there is no fear in love. Isn’t that what you want, 49th?”How could one man have possibly answered all of life’s deepest, hardest questions in a single novel?Ted Dekker did it.Or at least, he answered all of mine.Rise of the Mystics is the second book in ...

My decision to try out Ted Dekker’s new fantasy novel, The 49th Mystic, came about rather serendipitously – somehow I saw a sponsored post on Facebook one day (having never seen a Dekker post before) and was intrigued. I supposed you could say the marketing worked; phrases like “this is his greatest novel yet” and “if you don’t read any other book of his, at least try this one” were what pulled me in. A bit of a thrown-down gauntlet...

Fans of Dekker and the Circle series will not want to miss this this follow-up installment that holds true to all that fans have come to expect from this exceptional writer. It has been many years since the death of Thomas Hunter, but he is still remembered in our world and the world he still lives in. No one has gone between the worlds like he did until now. Rachelle Matthews has somehow found a way into that other world just as Thomas Hunter di...

*Note: I was able to read an advanced copy of this book, enabling me to both read and review this book before its official release*The book “Rise of the Mystics” is SECOND in the Beyond the Circle Series, so make sure you read “The 49th Mystic” beforehand. "Rise of the Mystics" is part two of this saga, together making one complete story that will make you - at times - want to throw the book (a desire any good villain brings out), laugh a...

The story itself is as per usual, easy to read, fast paced & totally fascinating. I actually enjoyed this book better than the first. But as much as I hate to say it, I’m starting to have issues with my favorite author’s theology & the issues seem to grow with each book he writes. I reviewed that his books like Outlaw & Eyes Wide Open & The Forgotten Way were life changing for me. Paradigm shifting. But there were little questions that I had ...

Ted Dekker’s “The 49th Mystic” was just the beginning of Rachelle Matthews’ journey from blindness to sight.  Rachelle soon discovers that her life in Eden, Utah, and her haunting dreams of another world are co-mingled and she must find five seals (three in her “dream world” and two on Earth) in order to keep both worlds from falling into chaos thanks to the Shadow Man known as Vlad.  Spoiler Alert:  At the end of “The 49th Mysti...

When I heard that Mr. Dekker was returning to the world of The Circle Series with The 49th Mystic, I was incredibly excited. The 49th Mystic exceeded my rabid fan-girl expectations with an all new head-spinning story, told as only Ted Dekker can. Looking forward to the continuation of Rachelle's quest, the moment my copy arrived I grabbed a bowl of popcorn, settled into my comfy chair, and began to read. I was blown away, totally unprepared for h...

Spoilers in my review! This book was truly amazing. As with the 49th Mystic, it spoke to my heart and challenged my faith. I love the way Ted Dekker writes. He gets to the heart of the matter and makes me think about things in a new way. Rachelle' struggles to see beyond her doubts and truly accept who she is in the sight of God (Elyon) mirrors my own struggles to see myself the way the God sees me. I loved every moment when she discovered one of ...

"Rise of the Mystics...Wow! This is the second book in Ted Dekker's Beyond the Circle Duology. Just like the first book, The 49th Mystic, Rise of the Mystics is a story that will take you far beyond what you know and think. Rachelle Matthews continues her journey of searching for the five seals of truth that will cause both worlds she lives in to turn on their heads. At the start of the book, she has three of five seals; so a good portion of this...

Rachelle Matthews is the 49th Mystic and is tasked in Earth and Other Earth to find all five seals or both worlds as she knows them will end. The problem? The evil Vlad is after her and has crossed into each realm with one intent. To stop her at all costs. He wants evil to reign. Can she race against time and look past her own faults to solve the mystery of the seals before it’s too late? When I finished reading Rise of the Mystics one word popp...

After finishing Ted Dekker’s new release “The 49th Mystic,” I was eagerly anticipating its sequel “Rise of the Mystics.”  After experiencing the profound nature of the 49th, I wondered if this sequel would live up to my expectations.  The answer is yes - a hundred times yes.  I am convinced that this book is divinely inspired.  The Biblical teachings found in these pages have given me a radically deeper perspective on the teachings ...

I waited what felt like AGES for this book...and the wait was entirely worth it. Rise of the Mystics had me on the edge of my seat as Dekker pulled me into the worlds, both of Other Earth and "real Earth." There were so many instances where the written words tugged at my soul and left me thinking. Not only about the book itself but about life as a whole. Dekker has always had a way of presenting biblical principles and concepts in manners I have ...
