I enjoy reading cozy mysteries to relax and unwind. I particularly enjoy reading cozy mysteries in the autumn. I was very pleased with my most recent choice of books, “The Whispered Word.” The Secret Bone and Scone Society are a group of fiction-loving bibliophiles in Miracle Springs, NC. Nora happily runs Miracle Books and her friend Hester owns the local bakery. When they discover a frail girl with bruises and a medical I.D. bracelet stowed...

The Whispered Word by Ellery Adams is the second book in this series.I was blown away with this story. I could feel the pain of each character, whether it was mental anguish or physical pain, the author described the emotions in such detail, that it was easy to get caught up in each of their stories.Nora Pennington is a wonderful character. Her story is tragic, but teaches her the lessons of life and she experiences each new day with courage. Her ...

I loved the first book in the series so when I was offered the chance to read and review an ARC of the second book I didn't hesitate. This one was just as good as the first. Like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket, this book invited you to get comfortable and stay awhile. I was engaged for the first two pages. Ms. Adams has created and town and characters that are warm and welcoming. Miracle Springs is a quaint setting where people come to get a...

Loved, loved, loved this book! Loved the first one, and I wasn't sure the author would be able to re-capture the magic of that story, but this was even better. Could not put it down, but didn't want it to end either. Read this book, you will love it!

I received The Whispered Word (Secret, Book, & Scone Society #2) by Ellery Adams through a Goodreads Giveaway. This is the first book I have read by Ellery Adams and I really enjoyed it. The story line was compelling and I loved all the characters. I want to read the first book in this series. My only complaint was this book needed a better editor. There were many missing words and grammatical errors, things that don’t usually bother me but ther...

This is another great book in the Secret, Book & Scone Society Series. You could start the series with this book, but I suggest reading Book 1 to fully appreciate the depth of the flawed but likable characters. The mystery was well crafterd and the setting, Miracle Springs, sounds lovely. I wish I could visit!I received an ARC from NetGalley.

Nora owns a bookstore in Miracle Springs, North Carolina. She's part of the Secret, Book and Scone Society, along with Hester, June and Estella. I read the first book in this series and enjoyed it, but for some reason, I wasn't expecting the emotional ride this one would take me on. I was expecting a solid mystery intertwined with a good story. This book had that, and more. For one, Abilene's story really moved me, from before and after Nora find...

This is one of the BEST cozies I've read in a while. it grabs you in chapter one and hold you till the last period of the last sentence. There were moments my heart would race during tense moments. I had a hard time putting this book down. It was a little edgier for a cozy which I liked. I highly recommend this one.

Ever since I read the first book in this series, The Secret, Book and Scone Society, I have been waiting for the sequel and when I saw this on Netgalley, I was ecstatic. Also, please do look at that gorgeous cover... it's so beautiful and yummy. And the book totally lived up to my expectations.Nora, our wonderful owner of Miracle Books is as excited as ever trying to help her customers with the healing that they need. I received a free copy of THE WHISPERED WORD (Book 2 of the Secret, Book, & Scone Society) in exchange for an honest review. Nora Pennington and her friends have not gone anywhere; they don’t have to because the adventures come to them. Miracle Springs is financially reeling from the events of the first book. A lot of residents are out of work or soon will be. When the SBS Society meets to plan a way to help some of those citizens, a mystery wa...

The Whispered Word by Ellery Adams was another complex mystery that was also an emotional journey for the reader into a new character's shattered life.Ms. Adams' descriptive writing welcomed me back into Nora's beautiful world of Miracle Springs, North Carolina. The Whispered Word is the second book in the Secret Book and Scone Society Mystery series by Ellery Adams. I loved the first book in this series. It was thoughtful and compelling.i agreed to read an arc copy in exchange for an honest review. I was given this opportunity to review an ARC from NetGalley and Kensington Books. I really enjoyed this book. Nora owns a small book store, Miracle Books, in a place called Miracle Springs. She can pick any book for you and loves doing so. One night, a mysterious woman shows up at her store, and calls herself Abilene. Nobody knows where she is from, nor will she say. Nora, though trying to help her, starts to suspect something is off with her.I ...

Another “could not put it down” novel from Ellery Adams!I literally finished this book in under 24 hours. I was transported to that village where the outside world disappears. And it is a rather rude awakening there are no more pages to turn. Spellbinding is a good word to describe this book, as I was certainly under its spellThe story picks up right at the end of the previous book in this series, The Secret, Book, and Scone Society. A waif o...

I started reading Ellery Adams' books a year or so ago and still do so. I was excited when I learned there would be a more to the Secret, Book, & Scone Society. The Whispered Word did not disappoint. I was as involved with the characters in this second story as I was with the first book. I can't wait to see what's next for the ladies.

I received free copies of this book both on netgalley and directly from the author. Thanks to both for the chance to read early!I knew I was excited to revisit Miracle Springs, but Whispered Word exceeded expectations. Characters both new and old brought intriguing depth to the story. I couldn’t pin down the bad guy right away. Less temptation to bake while reading this one, but the mystery definitely impressed.

I was so looking forward to the follow up of Ms Adams', A Secret, Book and Scone Society, the first in this new series, and wow was it worth the wait. While this is a cozy mystery series, the strength of this series is its wonderful characters!! The heroines of this series are real, wounded and scared souls who while they have each hit bottom have not given up. Their compassion, leads them to help another wounded soul who shows up in Nora's Mirac...

I had read the first book in this series thanks to the author sending me a signed copy, and I loved it. I anxiously watched NetGalley for the next in the series, so when they offered it, I requested it.
