I adore Kelley Armstrong, and while I didn't love Wherever She Goes as much as her urban fantasy novels, it was still a worthy read, and one I did enjoy. The author has taken a story that's been done before and put her own spin on it, which will work for many folks, especially those looking for a surface level, fast paced psychological thriller. Although I can't quite put my finger on why, I didn't find the characters in this story as compelling ...

If there is any chance that a boy is out there, in trouble, and no one is searching for him, then I must be that one person. The person who cares. The person who gets involved.Whatever the cost. 2 1/2 stars. I've been reading Kelley Armstrong's books for almost ten years now (!!) and at her best she is such a good comfort-read author. Cosy thrillers, fun paranormal romance, strong heroines... but unfortunately this one was just average for me. I ...

It’s a heartbreaking set-up for Aubrey Finch. She is separated from her husband, Jack, and their daughter Charlotte who is living with him. Aubrey is the one who left her beautiful child and home behind for a dumpy apartment but generous visitation rights with Charlotte. With only a high school diploma, Aubrey considers herself fortunate to have landed a job in a library. Aubrey blames herself for the disintegration of her marriage and refuses ...

Armstrong always delivers with an action packed, suspense filled mystery that kept me turning the pages and eager for more. Wherever She Goes was all these things and best of all, kept me guessing numerous times and had me swaying back and forth with exactly what was going on and what in Aubrey's past was catching up to her. A story where everyone is suspect and you never know who to believe or what is going to happen next this was fun filled wit...

4.5/5 starsI love everything that Kelley Armstrong writes. This is a psychological thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book!Kelley Armstrong is one of my favorite authors and is my most read author. I absolutely adore everything that she writes. I was beyond thrilled to be able to read her newest book. The narrator is 30 year old Aubrey/Bree. This story takes place in Chicago and the suburbs of Chicago. This book had ...

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This was a solid 3-1/2 stars for me, but not one that I'd round up to 4.Let me start by saying that Kelley Armstrong is one of my favorite authors and I absolutely love the majority of her books. Unfortunately, I wasn't quite as enamored with this one. I thought it was good and it absolutely held my attention to the point that I read it in two sittings, so I defin...

Aubrey Finch meets a young boy and his mother in the park while she is there with her own daughter. Several days later while she is doing her daily run she sees the boy again but this time his mother is no where around. Aubrey follows the boy and he leads her to the parking lot where a car stops and snatches the boy inside. She can't believe what she has just seen, she immediately tries to take a picture of the plates but they are covered with mu...

WHEREVER SHE GOES was a fast-paced, tension-filled, twisty thriller. Aubrey Finch didn't think much about talking to a young mother and son when she is playing in the park with her daughter. But when she sees the boy again a few days later and sees him being dragged into a car, she knows she has to do something. The only problem is that no one has reported a child abduction and the police don't believe that Aubrey saw what she saw.It is time for ...

This book really didn't go where I thought it would after the start of it. I was on the fence with Aubrey and her choices to leave her family, but as things went on and we learned about her past her choice made sense and she was doing what she thought was right. Aubrey was great with Charlie, right there playing with her, being in the moment. When Aubrey witnessed the kidnapping things really changed for her. She knew what she saw, but the sad thi...

***Thanks to NetGalley for providing me a complimentary copy of WHEREVER SHE GOES by Kelley Armstrong in exchange for my honest review.***Separated from her husband Paul, Aubrey only sees her daughter on weekends. When she sees a small boy abducted from the park, the police think she’s making up the story for attention. Aubrey is a hot mess, hiding in plain sight from the law, even Paul doesn’t know about her past. She flounders at her job in...

Another Awesome Armstrong! Question! Who is Aubrey Finch? Yes she is a soon to be ex-wife, a mother, part time librarian, and a women with a maze of secrets in her past. All this being said; She comes across as a peculiar personality enlisting scowls and reluctance to believe her from others. Nevertheless; She has skills to take matters into her own hands when Police refuse to believe she has witnessed a young boy's kidnapping. Lots to keep the p...

I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest review. I give this novel 3.5 stars. I have enjoyed prior Kelley Armstrong novels. However, even though the story kept my interest, it seemed loosely put together. Some parts were plausible while others were not so much. I feel the author wasn't in love with her story. It was a good idea that kind of fizzled out near the end. Of course, this is all just opinion on my part.

A mothers worst nightmare her son goes missing but for Aubrey it's a bystanders worst fear not being believed!Holy smokes! When you know you seen a child abduction take place and report it yet you are now the center of the investigation as they believe you're crazy, delusional, and paranoid. She's a former mom who lost custody of her own daughter so clearly she must be unstable. Right?!The law doesn't always work for everyone especially parents wh...

2 stars.* What have I done? Wherever She Goes is a fast paced and tense novel with complex characters and an intriguing, if not that fleshed out, plot. There is quite a bit of mystery and suspense surrounding the main character, Aubrey, which leads to a bit of confusion regarding the narrative as the story progresses. The writing is still really engaging and Aubrey’s POV is well done, so this is a quick and entertaining read.Kelley Armstrong ...

Kelley Armstrong is a favorite of mine. Her Watcher Series and her urban fantasy books are really well done!I wasn't fully on board right away with this one. At first, we didn't have enough information about her and her husband and daughter for me to decide if she was a wimp or nuts. Turns out she is neither. When Aubrey is having playtime at the park with Charlotte, she meets a young woman and her son. Aubrey is very observant. The woman is you...

3.5 starsWherever She Goes is an engaging thriller from one of my favorite urban fantasy writers. Bree is a soon-to-be divorced young mother who witnesses a kidnapping in a local park. Only no one believes her as there has been no report of a missing child. When circumstances prove to Bree that not only was she right but that the child likely is in danger, she falls back on her skills from her former life which she has kept secret from her husban...

This review was originally posted on Books of My Heart Review copy was received from NetGalley. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I think of Kelley Armstrong as a writer of urban fantasy and paranormal romance. However, most of what I have read from her is mystery suspense.  I love her Rockton series, so I decided to give Wherever She Goes, also a mystery suspense story a try. Aubrey is an interesting c...

First of all, I was beyond excited to get an ARC of this book as I have thoroughly enjoyed every book of Kelley Armstrong’s and secondly this book did not disappoint.I went into reading this just a tad skeptical as it is a stand alone and most I have read by this author are series novels. This novel was full of intrigue, murder, not your basic kidnapping and a marriage on the rocks thrown into the mix. The writing flowed and I could literally s...

I was very excited to be able to read this not only because it sounded very interesting but also because I am a long time fan of Kelley Armstrong's work, so to say I had high expectations of her latest book would be an understatement. The best part is as high as my expectations were this book did not disappoint. The book starts out with our main character (Aubrey) watching her daughter play at a local park. That is when she notices a young boy ge...

Wherever She Goes is a psychological thriller with a plethora of twists and turns that change the good guys into bad guys and the bad guys into good guys. It kept me guessing throughout which characters Aubrey can trust and which she can’t. Just when it seems like she has it figured out, everything changes. This is an exciting thriller with a surprising but satisfying ending. The narrator, Aubrey, is a strong and well-developed narrator. However...

This contains very minor spoilers to the overall story type.I really enjoyed this book. This wasn’t like other Kelley Armstrong books I’ve read in that there was no paranormal aspect to it. When I started the book, I was slightly wary. The lead seemed like a weak female, which is not my preferred type of book. As the book went on, you learn more about her, and I grew to respect her.The story kept me guessing the whole time, and I enjoyed the ...

You can count on Kelley Armstrong's novels to be page-turners and this one is no exception. I like the premise and the way that my impression of many of the characters evolves as the story develops. One thing that irritates is that the dialogue, no matter who is speaking, all sounds alike. That's a small point overall though in this entertaining beach read.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book.I have never read this author before so I had no idea what to expect. Aubrey was a good lead character - I liked that she was smart and resourceful. There is so much going on,this book will keep you interested in finding out what's going on. The only bad thing was my pet peeve is kids talking baby talk. UGH.

Thank you NetGalley and St Martin's Press for this arc. While I've really enjoyed Ms. Armstrong's Rockton stories and her Cainsville books, this one felt like it was just phoned in. Not that it was a bad read, it wasn't. The characters didn't feel as well developed, like they were phoned in too. There was action.... some plausible, some not so much. The "plot twist" felt like she just hadn't bothered smoothing her skirt down after a long sit. What...

5 of 5 stars at The BiblioSanctum https://bibliosanctum.com/2019/06/27/...I just finished Wherever She Goes by Kelley Armstrong and it was so intense that sitting down to write this review now, my heart is still pounding a mile a minute in my chest. Thanks to NetGalley for a Kindle ARC of Wherever She Goes. I enjoy the author's Rockton series so I was eager to read an early ARC of Wherever She Goes, a standalone novel featuring Aubrey/Bree Finch, a mother of a three-year-old with a felonious, secret past.** Minor spoilers ahead **Out with her daughter, Charlotte, at the park one day, Bree meets a young woman and her son, Brandon. They have a brief conversation and the meeting is forgotten...

I'll start by saying I really don't read too many thrillers. Actually, I could probably count how many suspenseful books I've read on two hands, which isn't many, by any means. Normally, I've got my nose buried deep in a romance or science fiction novel. And books with both elements? Count me in! Ever since middle school, I've been obsessed with stories about supernatural beings and their powers. I guess I love them because they're literally out ...
