Ⓕⓡⓘⓔⓝⓓⓢⓗⓘⓟ. Ⓕⓐⓜⓘⓛⓨ. Ⓕⓞⓡⓖⓘⓥⓔⓝⓔⓢⓢ. This was a delightful story about family, friendship, and forgiveness. Wendy Wax write stories about strong dynamic women and their complex unbreakable bonds. Lauren and Bree were best friends until Lauren went off to New York and Bree didn’t come as originally planned, instead she stayed home and ended up marrying Lauren’s ex. What stings even more is that...

Charming, relaxing, & refreshing!First off I have to mention that I absolutely loved that this story was inspired by a wedding dress that was worn by generations of brides in the author’s family. That little piece of information is stated in the beginning of the book and I think it definitely set the stage perfectly for the events that followed in this story. I didn’t think there was anything too new here with this story but I definitely foun...

A charming beach read about friendship and family! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ The author, Wendy Wax, incorporated an idea from her own life into this story: a beloved wedding gown that is passed down through the generations of women in a family. Bree and Lauren were best friends, but not anymore. They grew up together, and their bond was as strong as sisters. They were, in fact, raised as sisters. What causes them to not only drift apart, but to have an ins...

3.5 starsFirst of all I love how this story was inspired by a wedding dress that has been worn by generations of women in the author's family. It's pretty cool when a writer can incorporate a piece of themselves into the fictional world they create. This book turned out to be a nice, solid read about friendship and forgiveness. This is the first book I have read by the author and I would definitely be up for taking a look at her other novels.Laur...

A novel about the fall out of things left far too long unsaid, and about letting go of our hurt and letting forgiveness heal us. I had never read anything by Wendy Wax before this book and I feel that I picked up this one at the exact right moment. It was a story that I was able to fall into completely, and filled with characters I loved and cared about. The themes of friendship, family, and forgiveness really resonated through the story and made...

A review copy of this book was provided by Berkley Publishing Group in exchange for an honest review. I requested this book on NetGalley mostly because the concept sounded so interesting - it focuses on a wedding dress that has been passed through many generations of weddings and the lives of the latest women to wear it. It definitely felt like a breath of fresh air in a genre that repeats itself all too often. The thing I value most about this b...

The first book I've read by Wendy Wax immediately has me questioning why on Earth I waited so long to pick up one of her books! My Ex-Best Friend's Wedding introduces us to Lauren and Bree, the former best friends, both of whom were raised by Lauren's mother Kendra, making them more like sisters. Over 20 years ago, Lauren and Bree made a plan to move to New York and write a novel. Days before, Bree backs out, Lauren goes it alone and finds out Bre...

My Ex-Best Friend’s Wedding is the latest novel by Wendy Wax. Kendra Jameson is the latest keeper of the heirloom wedding dress that is referred to as THE DRESS. If any woman in her family wishes to walk down the aisle in the stunning creation, they may wear it. Kendra has a photographic reminder of how she looked in the timeless ivory dress, but the memories are not as lovely as the picture. Lauren and Brianna met in kindergarten in Nags Head ...

I enjoyed this latest novel of Wendy Wax. I liked the author angle, plus the angst of falling out with your best friend. Mother / daughter relationships also feature. All the main characters are flawed, in a very realistic, relatable way.

This story of two authors was fascinating. The mechanics and business end of writing books was enlightening. The friendship between them was damaged. Finding their way back was wonderful. Family, romance and life choices all play an important role. I was riveted and didn't put it down until I finished.

Circumstances bring them back together and they start to open up to each other, learn about their past and current lives, and open their hearts to what they each lost when they stopped being friends. I've read quite a few of Wendy Wax's books over the last few years and I'm going to tell you, that my personal opinion is that this is the best one to date. It hits all the marks of a great read, from characters with depth and feeling to life issues that we can all see a bit of ourselves in. GO OUT AND READ THIS BOOK!!!

A fun story centered around a wedding dress. Kendra and Lauren are close until Lauren learns the secret her mother has kept from her. Lauren and Brianna were best of friends until Lauren felt betrayed by Brianna. Brianna has her own feelings of betrayal. A great story of second chances.

I had a hard time getting through this book, very repetitive and too unrealistic for my taste.

    Oh, this was so good!

Wow! Couldn't put this one down! So much going on, sometimes that annoys me, but not here.I loved the characters, setting, just everything. I thought the secret she was hiding would be different, but the real secret was better.I'm not into spoilers, so I'll close this with my recommendation to read this awesome book when it comes out.

Good book, very typical outcome and story line. It could have been about 75 pages shorter too, but a quick easy read.

Having read other books by Wendy Wax in the past, I was very excited to find this new book of hers on NetGalley and I'm so appreciative of her publishers allowing me to read an advance copy and share my honest opinion. There were so many things I loved about this book! Wendy Wax writes about characters who could be real! Not the outrageously beautiful 20-year-old with the perfect body type character, but the real-life kind of characters. Character...

I loved the concept of this book, but it fell a little bit flat for me. I really enjoyed that the main characters were authors and I found that really interesting. I loved the setting and the events that unfolded as well as the resolution of many past conflicts. I found it overall a little bit too long and a bit too unrelatable though.

This was a nice, if typical, chick lit beach story. I didn't care much for either Bree or Lauren. Lauren was selfish and bitchy and Bree was a dopey pushover . An awful lot of inside the publishing world stuff as well as author's writing processes... My favorites were Kendra and Jake, and the lovely seaside town. Readable, fairly predictable, there were some laugh out loud moments. Thanks to publishers and NetGalley for the ARC.

I am a big fan of Wendy Wax’s books. This book fits my unplanned theme of reading wedding related book but isn’t your usual contemporary about a wedding; and of course there isn’t…it is written by Wendy Wax.To be honest, I thought the beginning was a bit slow paced but it does pick up and the story comes together. THE DRESS has been passed down from generation to generation and is one of the things that Lauren is looking forward to trying...

Prized and stored away for safekeeping, the timeless ivory wedding dress, with its scooped neck and cleverly fitted bodice, sits gently folded in its box, whispering of Happily Ever Afters. To Kendra, Brianna, and Lauren it’s a reminder of what could have been, the promise of a fairy tale, and a friendship torn apart. But as Kendra knows firsthand: it wasn’t the dress’s fault.Once closer than sisters, Lauren and Bree have grown up and grown...

This wonderfully written novel takes place in the Outer Banks of NC and is about a wedding dress that is passed down from each generation to the next. It's told in alternating chapters by the three main characters Kendra, Bree and Lauren. They were all once very close but now are at different places in their lives. Will the family wedding dress help bring them closer together?Kendra is Lauren's mom and has been hiding a secret from her daughter f...

My Ex-Best Friend's Wedding is infinitely better than Best Beach Ever by great leaps and bounds. The characters each have a depth of their own and one they share with each other.Though it may be perceived as simple, My Ex-Best Friend's Wedding is complex and rich, for, through, and with all the characters. It's easy to identify with the regrets and disappointments, at the anger and sadness they birth and the love with which they are resolved.Alth...
