Release Date: July 30, 2019 Genre: Paranormal Cozy Mystery Actual Rating: 4.5 starsI really enjoyed reading Mrs. Morris and the Ghost by Traci Wilton. I actually read it in one day! This is the first book in the Salem B&B Cozy mystery series. It's a paranormal mystery as well. In the last few years I haven't found any paranormal cozies that I could really get into but with this one I did. So I am super excited for the next one (there is a snea...

Great book! It was mostly down to the author’s style of writing, but the plot drew me in as well. Advertising executive Charlene Morris has lost her husband. With no kids, no spouse and nothing to keep her tied to Chicago, she embarks on a new adventure as a bed-and-breakfast owner in Salem, Mass. She can’t believe her luck when she becomes the owner of a very affordable yet very beautiful 8,000 square feet house. Soon, it becomes clear why t...

I took a break and was off cozy books as I found them to be too formulaic, but the cover of this book and the Ghost in the title drew me in. Spooky/ghostly cozy are my new favorite. And this book hit the right spot in me.Charlene moved to Salem with its rich history to open a Bed and Breakfast. Wanting to make it a success, she worked hard to get it ready for a Halloween opening and soon banged into the its lone ghostly occupant, Jack. Oh, he was...

A big thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book!Gosh, this was a lot of fun! I'm used to the usual cozy formula, and when something really shakes that up it goes one of two ways, awful or brilliant. This was brilliant! For starters, we have a very active sleuth in Charlene. Why would she be investigating the death of the former owner of her new home though? Because he asked her to, of course! Having a ghost around ...

This first book in a new series follows a real formula. The female protagonist is either widowed or divorced. She sinks all her money into a B&B and then finds out it is haunted and the ghost wants her to solve their murder.I easily guessed the whodunit by the not so subtle clues. However, something about the characters was entertaining and I would read the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Mrs. Morris and the Ghost is an enjoyable new cozy mystery. Charlene Morris lost the love of her life eighteen months ago and every where she goes in Chicago there are reminders. She has purchased a massive mansion in Salem, based on pictures sent to her by the realtor, where she plans on opening a bed and breakfast. She wants it to be an elegant establishment. Having a resident ghost was not the plans even if he is handsome and charming. Dr. Jac...

This is the start of what I think is a promising new paranormal cozy mystery. I enjoyed the setting and the characters along with the paranormal element. Charlene is a very likable character and I think the author did a good job with developing her as someone who is grieving but strong at the same time. I liked the secondary cast of characters that were introduced and think they will develop nicely over time. The mystery was well done and I almos...

I enjoyed this book. I do think that sections of it dragged out longer than they needed to. For a while the pacing of the investigating and the discovery of clues is really slow. It felt like nothing was happening. I liked the ending though, very unexpected. #MrsMorrisAndTheGhost #NetGalley

Well I was led astray. I was wrong, wrong and wrong on who did it. So, of course, I love this book! Actually, I really enjoyed much more than the mystery. Charlene Morris lost her husband and decides to make a big change in her life. She moves to Salem and opens a B&B, which turns out to be haunted. Personally I would see that as a cool thing, especially there. The Ghost was not a witch though and he needs help. This is the extra whip cream and s...

This is a series opener for a new paranormal cozy series which I enjoyed very much. The writer did an excellent job of setting the scene for a person who doesn’t believe in the paranormal and is suddenly thrown in the deep end. After coming to terms with a ghost being in her future B & B, I love the way she attempts to solve the mystery. I didn’t see the resolution coming, and it threw me for a loop in a good way. The only fly in the ointment...

I loved this book. Just the right mix of mystery, ghost story, romance, and a woman starting over with a business in a new town. There were a few things that made it fun; it takes place in Salem, Massachusetts, Mrs. Morris is starting a Bed and Breakfast Inn, the local detective has a younger Sam Elliot vibe, and the Ghost is tall, good looking and a tad angsty. There are a few mysteries that develop during the story. Without spoilers- whodunnit ...

Perfect start to a new series! This book has everything I love about a cozy mystery. I loved the main character, Charlene, and the house she buys in Salem MA to turn in to a B&B is amazing! I also adored the ghost who lives in the house, Jack. Jack wants Charlene to help him find out how he died, as in, who murdered him. Lots of suspects in the book, but I did figure out who it was before I got to the end. I hope this will be a long lasting serie...

A charming start to a new series! Charlene's husband died- too young- and she's moved from Chicago to Salem, Massachusetts, where she's bought a B&B. Talk about luck; the place is gorgeous and it's almost ready to take guests. But wait! There's a ghost, and not just any ghost but a dishy one. Jack Strathmore was found dead at the bottom of the stairs three years ago and he wants Charlene's help. She sets out to prove that it was murder and in cla...

2.5 starsThis cozy mystery was recommended to my by a friend who knows that I adore all things related to Salem, MA. Well, make that almost all things. A main character who moves to a new town to open a bed and breakfast as a new start is fairly cookie cutter as a premise. The place being haunted isn’t much more original. Mrs. Morris and the Ghost is unique in that it includes the perspective of the ghost as well as that of the MC. Unfortunatel...

A great start to a mystery series. Charlene, a 40+ widow from Chicago, decides to make a new start and buys a 7 bedroom mansion in Salem, MA without viewing it first. Needless to say, she finds company already there, in the form of Jack, the previous owner of 3 years back, who died in a fall. Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot, and found it hard to put down, and I liked that the killer wasn't too obvious. I did find the jealousy of Jack a bit much...
