This author has penned an exciting, addictive paranormal series that is above all else fun ! Yes I know there are obstacles to overcome so that these Vampires can get their happy ever after but I just adore that no matter how long between books I'm always pulled right back into this world. Tarak escaped his imprisonment at the end of the last book Darkness Returns and this starts right after as he's loose and searching for a way to get his reveng...

Alexandra Ivy had me at Levet, but I’ve got to admit the pairing between Tarak, a vampire who has been imprisoned for 5 centuries, and Waverly, a mer-royal who had to feed his thirst during his imprisonment, made for some great reading. You, as the reader, are thrust into a marvelous world where vampires, weres, mer-people, ogres and, maybe last on my list but not least, gargoyles become real. Real characters that you route for, laugh with and y...

She has been forced to obey her ruler, who ousted her father. She made sure the vampire survived, but now she feels an affinity towards him.Levet the gargoyle and a ce...

I began reading Guardians of Eternity back in 2014. I have always stated that it is one of my all time favorite paranormal reads and this story just affirms that. In this one we meet the mer-folk and the fraud king that holds the throne. He has imprisoned Tarak a clan leader and is using his powers to hold the throne. Tarak escapes and his only focus is to kill the one who held him prisoner. He meets Princess Waverly the mermaid who was in charge...

3.5 starsBeware the Darkness is book 14 in the Guardians of Eternity series and while I enjoyed it I did have some issues. Tarak has been held prisoner for 500 hundred years. He was released at the end of the last book and is focused on revenge. Waverly is the mermaid princess who feed him throughout his time as prisoner. I loved their connection and although they have known each other for so long there was still so much to learn. Now for my issu...

Beware the Darkness by Alexandra Ivy is book 14 in the Guardians of Eternity. This is the story of Tarak and Waverly. I have read the previous book which helped me to fully enjoy this one but with that said I did feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Tarak was taken kept a prisoner for hundreds of years. During that time, Waverly a mermaid princess who feed him and kept him from totally going insane. Now he is free and ...

I honestly hadn’t realised how much I missed this series and Ms Ivy’s incredible writing style until I read Darkness Returns. With that story, I was once again thrown into the complex and dangerous world of the paranormal and all the things that go bump in the night. Beware the Darkness, picks up where Darkness Returns left off, and follows Tarak’s pursuit of revenge and justice for his centuries of captivity. But this isn’t just another ...

So happy this series was brought back. If you have not read the previous book this one will not make a lot of sense. For adults 18+.I truly loved this book and wish the next one was already here. I liked all the characters except the one whom you're not supposed to like... The H&h were great people with wonderful personalities especially the h. Always looking out for others. Now Tarak was hell bent on revenge but I can't blame him but he was a bi...

I am so pleased with the twist of direction the author has brought to this series. The vampire world seemingly had run it's course but then...BAM ! We learn about this group of exiled Vamps. Of course the King and his minions are still somewhat involved. But these are fresh characters and fresh adventures. I mean, Mer people, ogres, witches, vampires and of course that love to hate gargoyle, Levet. Tarak has an interesting past. Newly released fr...

This is Tarak's story which picks up from the previous book. Tarak has been ensnared by an evil Merman, Riven, for the last 500 years. Tarak's prison is destroyed and Tarak escapes. Tarak has net his mate, Waverly, but was unable to believe it as he was so bent on revenge. Filled with betrayal, suspense, our Anasso Styx, an Ogress wronged, our laugh out loud gargoyle Levet, make for a great story. Tarak and Waverly.get their HEA. I did find the e...

Tarak appreciate the emotions his woman shows, "he felt Waverly stiffen. “Of course she was.” Tarak glanced at her in surprise. Was she jealous? The thought was absurdly satisfying." I liked this book, I liked Tarak.

A lot of surprise in this one, as usual.

I enjoyed this little novella. Loved the beautiful happy ending. Levet was entertaining as always. He got to act the KISA (Knight in Shining Armor) and save the day again. My only complaint was about poor Tarak. He wasn't that smart. And he knew that too. So I ended up forgiving him. If the next book is the love story between Levet and the Queen of Mer-folk 😍 I'll do a happy dance 💃🏽

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.I wasn't impressed with this paranormal romance as I have been by the author's other works. Slow to pick up and heavy on the world building. Characters lacked depth and I didn't find either protagonist interesting. Just not for me.

A massive castle along the remote cliffs of the Himalayan Range, 1500’s Asia. There was a rumor that the King of Vampires, The Anasso was addicted to feeding on prey with opium and alcohol in their system. It was common knowledge that tainted blood would eventually drive the vampire mad. Being a loyal servant of the King, Tarak refused to believe these rumors. For it was he, who brought his clan to the Anasso, for the overwhelming fact he belie...

(4.5) I had some laugh out loud moments, I had some catch my breath moments wondering if someone was going to die. Loved the twist at the end (well done). Ahhh. Now I need to put my feet up and just smile. I was anxiously awaiting Tarak after he escaped in book 13. Thrilled to be able to read his story. If you like paranormal, steamy sex and some suspense, this is a great read.I think it could be read as a standalone because enough info is provid...

Beware the darkness is the 14th book in the series and it's better if it's not read as stand-alone. Characters and events from the previous books appear and have an impact in the story. In my opinion, when you dedicate almost half of the story to another couple ( Levet and Inga) you should give them a happy ending too or if you don't want to do that, reduce the parts that are from their point of view. They took too much space and their story will ...

Alexandra Ivy’s Guardians of Eternity series is up to book 14 with Beware the Darkness. Yet the book is original, refreshingly so, written by a gifted storyteller. While revenge is not new in books, the complications, alliances, unknowns and the gift of love keep it a page turner. The intro of new species, as well as the continue world building that go with them is marvelous done so that the reader feels as if they are too thrust into this intri...

This is book 14 of the Guardian's of Eternity series and starts up basically where the last book left off. In this one we get Tarak's story after he has been released from his prison after 5 centuries. Now he is on the hunt to kill the one who held him captive all these years, Riven. But he never expected Waverly, the one who fed him all this time, to not only try to keep him alive but to help him take Riven down.I absolutely loved this one! We g...

I was sure happy to once again enter into this author's world in this series. Having not read too many vampire lately since it has not been on the radar this author made me remember the joy I receive from paranormal with vampires.Instead of taking what is given Tarak he wants to go into a different direction. Someone whom has helped him up until now is Waverly. They end up going into something else when it unravels to peel back what is really wha...

This was my first book be Alexandra Ivy so I went into it with no clue what to expect. Its part of a series that's been out forever so that could have been a problem, but it wasn't. I found it interesting and it pulled me in from the first page. Captivating and enchanting, this story takes us on a 500 year journey for revenge, at all costs. Mermaids, vampires, gargoyles! I was enraptured! Love though, has a way of rearranging your priorities, bec...
