What Happens Now? was a fun, light read - in comparison to the serial killers that I normally read about. I was not expecting to get so caught up and attached to Lil and her friends but I did. I found myself rooting for her and wanting everything to work out for the best. Lil Bailey is a young woman who has recently been dumped by the man that she thought was the One for her after 8 years. Jumping back into the dating world she makes a date with ...

4.5. This was just what I felt like. Super cute, feel-good, lightly amusing, for the most part realistic romance. RTC.

4.5 stars3am I put this down last night. 3am! And I love my sleep. I was completely engrossed in this, I couldn't put it down. I have been so grumpy today, but it was worth it.I enjoyed the wit and the snark and the storyline kept me reading, long after I should've put my kindle down and gone to sleep.Unusually for me, the romance was probably the least important part of this story; I was more invested in seeing how Lily adapts and grows -literal...

*4.5 Stars* ARC kindly received from Harlequin Aus in exchange for an honest review. This book was so much better than I expected it to be. It sounded interesting from the blurb, but when you actually start reading it, you discover that the characters are fun, and whilst the story-line is serious, the book is written in just the right way to make it a bit more light and fluffy.I really enjoyed reading this one, and was truly unsure how things wo...

At the start of this book I thought that maybe I'd made a mistake requesting it. I was looking for something light-hearted and this seemed to fit my requirements.I didn't love the first few chapters, the characters were annoying and the details the author went into during the sex scene were unnecessary. After my initial reservations I found myself warming to the characters particularly Lil, I liked reading about her interactions with family and fr...

Copy received from Harper Collins Australia for an honest reviewI was intrigued by the blurb of What Happens Now?, but I wasn't really sure what to expect. I mean, the surprise baby has been done over and over, what could be new, right? From the minute I started reading, I knew that this was going to be different for me. The story isn't different to a lot of books out there, however the story telling was wonderful, and I wanted to keep reading. I ...

What Happens Now? By Sophia Money-Coutts is a very upbeat contemporary novel about the highs and lows of pregnancy. I really enjoyed this honest look at life through the eyes and mind of a single thirty one year old named Lil.The book opens with a pregnancy test and ends after delivery. The reader ‘travels’ the nine months with Lil. We see her take on situations as she asks the questions all mums-to-be want to ask. Written in the first person...

Absolutely fantastic!! Had me laughing the whole way through.

Do you ever read a book and think it is brutally honest? Yeah, I thought it was quite rare too. What Happens Now? is an exploration into the complexity of human relationships and emotion. It tackles complex situations with tact and humour and is a wonderful example of a book hooking you in on one level and opening your eyes on another. The basic premise of the story is one that has been explored in the chick lit/rom-com world before: girl meets bo...

I’ve been reading some fairly serious books recently and I was looking for a change of pace. Something that yelled fun before I’d even opened to the first page. What Happens Now? grabbed my attention from the book stacks. Plus, the cover is the same colour as my footy team, so I couldn’t go wrong. This novel ticks all my boxes and earns extra credit for being a deliciously fun and hilarious read. It’s real with a heroine that hasn’t qui...

4 hilarious starsThis book is such a fun read! A laugh-out-loud story about a woman who finds herself pregnant after a one-night-stand, and the hilarity that ensues as she juggles her job, her friends and family, and her world-exploring baby daddy with the no-holds-barred wonders of pregnancy and impending motherhood.31-year-old Lil is moving on after being dumped by her boyfriend of 8 years, and after 6 months of being single, she’s meeting up...

Side-splittingly funny, hypnotic, steamy, honest and outrageous, this book was one that I didn’t expect to fall in love with, but I was engrossed and devoured it in practically one sitting. You couldn’t tear me away and I never wanted it to end. When Lil braved the world of online dating and reluctantly headed off on her first date since splitting with her boyfriend of eight years, she gets much more than she bargained for. She is surprised t...

I was expecting a fun and exciting read about a romcom story of two people under a circumstance were brought together. But that was not the case for this one, it was more than that. The author has continuously sent across a message to the readers that nothing is impossible and that you definitely don't need a man to actually move forward with your life. You should just focus on yourself and see the brighter and better things up ahead. Lil is very...

This was a fun read where it certainly had it funny moments! I very much enjoyed the observations on dating in this advanced technology world especially when you send a WhatsApp message to your date and just waiting for the blue ticks to show. The ending was predictable however did make the read very enjoyable overall.Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy in exchange for a honest review.

Hot, steamy, sexy read. One that you will need a cold shower after reading. One that will have you reaching for the fan and devouring in one greedy gulp. Saucy.

I started this last night and finished this morning, it's a really amusing read, you'll love Lil. You will be impressed with Max in the bedroom department - but it may take a little longer to warm to him as a whole, but that doesn't matter as this book is mainly about Lil with Max as an added bonus! The above says enough but I wrote a few more words!I loved Lil she is a very normal woman who experiences life like most of us, it's the things she th...

What Happens Now? is a light, funny, thoroughly contemporary romance novel from Sophia Money-Coutts.Thirty one year old private school teacher Lil is still raw from the end of an eight year relationship when her best friend, Jess, convinces her to use a dating app. Lil chooses mountaineer Max, who likes like ‘a cross between a Jane Austen hero, and Jack Sparrow’. and the evening goes well, so well in fact that Lil goes home with him. 2.5 stars It wasn't that I hated this book exactly. It was more that I didn't really enjoy it either. I mean, I suppose this book had it's funny moments... and that was pretty much it. There's wasn't anything that made it stand out from other contemporaries I've read before. I knew that the story would be cliche; so I suppose it's my own fault for picking this up anyway. But I was hoping that the author would take a very cliche plot and give it a...

I have to say that what I originally liked about the style and voice of The Plus One, the first novel by Money-Coutts, remains consistent with this book. The author has a way of mixing a brash, brutally honest voice with a dark sense of humour and a devil may care attitude. Imagine 'Knocked Up' meets 'Friends' with a dollop of British snark.Lil ventures back into the shark infested pool of dating and meeting potential partners after she is discar...

I wanted something fun and light to read and this did not disapoint. The story centers around Lil and her close friends and family. Lil is a teacher at a boy's prep school in London. She's recently had her heart broken and after a one night stand with someone she meets on a dating app (enter a very hot Max!), she finds herself pregnant, oops! We then follow Lil through the ups and downs and hilarious incidents of the next 9 months! The author writ...

Lil is finally back on the dating scene, after a long relationship ended badly. She is pleasantly surprised to find herself across the table from Max, an attractive and interesting mountaineer. One thing leads to another, which leads to  ... a baby?!As you might expect, this book was light, fluffy and definitely in the 'prosecco and babies' category, with a smattering of the aristocracy and finer things in life (think art gallery openings, mansi...
